- After my recent video using Aqua Cast, chameleon micas, and silver metallic powder with this great Let's Resin snail mold (video here: • Metal Powder, Snail Mo... ), I wanted to come back and cast another snail, but this time with epoxy resin, glitter, and gold metallic powder. And here we go! The snail gods laughed and laughed.

I have a couple of ideas! You've got Brad so how about Cathy, our football season ticket seat neighbors are Brad and Cathy, and they are the nicest people! He is all grayish and stoic like Brad and she is all sparkly and lovely like Cathy! lol There is always Gary the snail....hahaha!

Im sure you could mix a little of the glitter in UV resin and paint the rest of the shell part and set it.... super cute!

To get it in the shell, tilt the mould so that the resin runs into the shell, leave it to cure, continue how you would. To clean the eyes, use a ear bud

I have done many of these & to get the resin to fill the shell cavity you have to prop it up meaning you have to put something under the mold on one side so it is tilted. I love it.

Wendy at toonpish crafts had similar issues with the eye stalks. She said it is better to do one pour before doing powders or powder everything. This apparently weakens them unless eyes are dusted the same as rest of mold? Then it will come out in one piece 😉 Billy and Bob lol 😆
Yes, I saw that video *after* I'd poured the solid gold layer in, but before I had tried demolding. So I was fully prepared for the stalks to fail on me because I'd powdered over the ends of them. I got lucky (plus I didn't use glue, like she had).

I just ordered a similar mold, I winder if you could tilt the mold, you'd be able to fill the entire shell, then be able to fill the body? Love them both, Definitely wanting to do one myself.
Yes, absolutely!! After I'd finished filming and editing this video, I was watching it again and realized I could have put the mold on it's side and done a pour their, into the shell, then after that set up, sat the mold upright and poured more of the clear-with-glitter resin in. And then for the 3rd pour, used the gold powder! I was too busy trying to get it done in two pours. But, yes, that would absolutely work!😊

I was just wondering. It would take longer but maybe pour the shell. When it is set, put it on its side and pour that little section. Let it set and then do the body. I want to try it and I'll let you know how it goes.🫰
