DIY, Make Your Own Glossy Colored Embossing Powders!

After watching a video on another YT channel ( / @coffeeandcraftswithrory , I wanted to see what kind of success -- if any -- I could have trying to make my own colored glossy embossing powder using some of the myriad mica powders available in my studio. This was definitely a fun little experiment, and we got some useful answers plus success! The embossing gods were with me on this one.

It's funny seeing the WOW brand popping up I haven't seen anything from them since ACMoore closed during the pandemic. I have been using Embossing stuff for what 20 years and had no clue you could do this. Awesome trick. The interference on the black came out amazing! Very cool! I highly doubt I have a sticky pad that is still sticky I'll have to look!

Adding a few drops of alcohol ink to clear embossing powder makes translucent coloured embossing powder. I’m literally adding glitters & micas to clear embossing powder & wanted someone else’s take on measurements. Found your video 👍🏼😁, thank you! It’s great to have another person’s experience to watch. I’m sat here literally covered in sparkles from excess glitter blowing as I emboss 🤣 & I seem to just like to place my anti static bag to one side & forget it’s there 🤣. I’m definitely going to try the alcohol ink & clear embossing powder mix next. Thanks again for the great video 👍🏼👍🏼

Well, the second mica I tried here was a chameleon or color-shifting mica, so it looks like the most dominant color of the mica’s color shift is the one that gets picked up in this situation.
