Great video mate! Another great spot! That bit of fossil that looked like a bit of plant stalk with a hole in the end is a bit of Belemnite - it was a sort of squid type creature with an armoured bullet shaped front extending to a fine point. I have a whole load of them given to me by a friend. Nice finds! But scorpions? I had no idea we had them here in the uk!! Awesome drone footage too, nicely meshed with the other clips - love it!

Hiya Simon, thanks mate.. thats interesting about the fossil, don't know too much myself, just the research I did before going, I didn't expect to find any fossils or scorpions and ended up being loads of both.. going to have to give that drone back at some point but don't want to let it go lol

Interesting to see the ocean two colors. Closer to shore brown muddy then the water clears up and pretty blue. Almost a straight line. Love your videos. I've been watching your older ones I have never seen. Thank you!

Love these little vids. Please keep doing them. I'm from Kent too ( born in Maidstone) although I now live in Northern Queensland, and I love seeing many of the places I used to go to as a kid. My old gran used to live near Dungeness, so I spent many hours down there on the pebbles, and later wild camped there. Similarly, the Thames Estuary and the Isle of Sheppey. We used to go to Leysdown, on the train. BTW - there is a place about 100 miles north of where I live called Dungeness, and a little info plaque explaining that it was named after the proper Dungeness and set up as a port town, but failed because of off shore sandbanks.

Love the beach-front camping, nothing like a blazing fire at night with the sounds of the surf in the background. The scorpions give me the willies, though, can live without them, LOL. The little acreage I had before moving into town was infested with them, the house had sat empty for some years before I renovated it, I think I killed 4 or 5 of them on the walls and ceilings almost every day. Definitely don't want them falling into your bed, and shoes and clothing must be shaken-out before putting them on, as they tend to crawl inside to hide and get very unhappy with you if you disturb them. Can't say I hate very many things in nature, but scorpions are pending addition to that list! LOL, still enjoyed the video, man, love from the southwestern US!

Wonderful looking camp, man I am so envious of British bacon! If you are shopping for a new sleeping pad I swear by the Wiggy's Luxurious Ground Pad. Absolutely not for through hiking (it weighs about 5 pounds, and compresses down to the size of a '72 Buick), but for overnighters it is super comfy and robust. I remember reading about those scorps years ago, very cool to see them. PS - stepson starts his engineering degree at Portsmouth University this week so wish him luck!

Hey - another place you might find interesting is on the Surrey/Hants border. Part Army training group ( with public access) part open land for movie sets. Its where they mocked up the house in Skyfall which was supposed to be Bond's boyhood home in Scotland. But the best bit ( apart from the heaps of wild camping opportunities) is that the WW2 Atlantic Wall mock up is there. Its where they trained troops for the expected D-Day scaling of that wall that Hitler had built down the west coast of France. Its hidden in the woods but its quite easy to find, once you know what you're looking at. And its not fenced off. I'll pm you the location if you're interested.

Hi, that first pile of concrete you walked by, at the beginning, are all that's left of a 1930s pre-radar 'Sound Mirror' that listened out over the Thames Estuary. Also, where you stayed, is very likely the location where Beowulf (from the oldest poem in English language) made landfall after sailing out from the Rhine on the evening tide and was met by the Warden of the local King's hall at Heorot (now called Harty, on the South side of the Isle of Sheppey. Most people perpetuate the 'myth' that the tale is set in the fjords of Scandanavia... But all the evidence leans towards Sheppey. The swamp monster Grendell was over the Swale in the marshes of Faversham. Beowulf was likely buried under what was Britain's 2nd biggest man-made mound at Nagden, at Faversham Creek. The enormous mound was levelled to make emergency flood defences in 1953 and was never excavated. The council workmen that levelled the mound reported evidence of a burned boat under the mound.
Anyway... That is a great location (as you can tell I'm Kentish too and know the area a bit). You've inspired me to spend the night at that spot too... Once it's warmer, of course! Keep up the great work!!!

would love to go there mate, looked amazing. funny how you can see essex from there, i always forget that. wonder if we could ask permission to have a look at the fort? there was a minefield control tower there, i thought the only ones in the country were at burnham on crouch where i went and one in oban scotland. glad you had a better experience in the bivvy this time, looked great. i have one of those thermarest stuff sack pillows too, theyre such a simple yet genius idea! and next camp, youre doing the cooking lol looked great! i love your filming and use of the tripod, got to start doing more walking past shots myself instead of POV, looks more professional. top stuff again mate, looking forward to our next meet up! atb Tom.
