    Wonderful conversation. Acharya ji's observation that the philosophy should not keep us in the past is something that totally resonated with me. Great to hear Abhinavgupta's and other philosophers contributions.

    Pranam Acharyaji. I bow to you for your commitment to the phylosophy of Kashmir Shaivism. Kindly teach us through UA-cam videos the glory of Trika And Tantra from your point of understanding it. We do not want to learn the same from half baked teachers you have mentioned in the beginning of your talk.

    Excellent discussion! Professor Timalsina's words nearly toward the end broke my heart and reminded me of my own experiences in Tibet: where I encountered old monks and nuns, who narrated to me how they strove to hide their monasteries' manuscripts and tablets as the Maoists came marching through Tibet during the Cultural Revolution, ravaging every relic of Tibetan civilization they could lay their hands on. According to one monk, most of the destroyed manuscripts were actually hundreds of years old and contained the teachings of medieval Indian Tantric gurus.

    The revival of vajrayana practice in nepal is must. And the arrival of tibetan after Chinese invasion is a great help for the Nepalese vajrayana bhudhist.

    I heard the conversion between you & Swami Sarvapriyananda it was awesome & enlightening. I was thinking of Samkara's Saundarylahiri . So I think ardent Advaitin as a philosopher can defend but in true sense it's integrated knowledge, otherwise such a wonderful composition wouldn't have been otherwise composed. I'm just a learner trying to understand & experience. But I'm unfortunate one because I don't know Sanskrit due to modern education. I express my gratitude for your vedios in UA-cam.

    I feel that Rupert Sheldrake has some interesting ideas in his "The Presence Of The Past - Morphic Resonance and the Habits of Nature." It fits in well with the idea of being able to change with the times without forfeiting the essence of the teachings imo.

    I would disagree with the Professor about his comment on dynamism in Western philosophy. It is precisely, as Oswald Spengler pointed out, the emphasis on becoming rather than being, and the focus on dynamism (that led to the invention of the concept of the working hypothesis) that characterizes Faustian civilization as different from other civilizations, and that (along with the obsession on zooming towards infinity in all directions), which led to the rise of the Faustian scientific and technological advances which made the modern world (to be fair, the project couldn't have taken off without the flood of cheap concentrated energy that comes from fossil fuels, which are the Faustian superlative energy source).
    Otherwise, this was very interesting. India would have likely been a very different place had Kashmir Shaivism, as exemplified by Abhinavagupta, won against Advaita Vedanta.

    • @manubhadoria24

      Different in what terms? Also are you aware of any places (ashrams maybe) that teach authentic Kashmir Shaivism practices and teachings?

    • @RAJAT6555
      @RAJAT6555 4 роки тому +1

      @@manubhadoria24 What I meant is that Kashmir Shaivism is life-affirming, as opposed to Advaita Vedanta, which holds that the world is an illusion. If you want to see the damage that Advaita Vedanta has done (to be fair, 'damage' might be a bit too strong an adjective) to India, please read the works of Sri Aurobindo.

      @@RAJAT6555 Advaita philosophy helps me ignore my sufferings as mere illusion and I can sleep peacefully considering everything as maya. Recently Advaita masters like Swami Sarvapriyandji and Rupert Spira have taken Kashmir Shaivism phylosophy into their teachings and advice us not to negate the existence of universe as illusion. Spiritual Knowledge should be all inclusive. But I find no end in sight in Arabindo's teachings. He kept insisting on the idea of expanding Consciousness and there are innumerable layers and stages in it that any human being can think of reaching them in his life time.

    Maoists in india are same as well . Their whole philosophy is about finding the supposed oppressed identity and the oppresor identity . Then get these two identities into violent confrontation . They used to be instrument of soviet and now its china . Since independence India has been all about Gandhism , Ambedkarism , maoism .. This obsession is the Reason maoist revolution in Nepal could not be countered when it should have been . I am not rejecting all that happened in last century .. but india is more than that .
