I agree with you that shearing off the bolt would be a nightmare. My suggestion is keep driving the car for a while and keep applying penetrating oil. That helped me get my diesel injectors out eventually with a long breaker bar. 😎

Exactly what I've been doing. I also bought a big DeWalt impact with a great reputation. I'm hoping that the penetrating oil and new impact will do it. I'll get back to it in a few days with an update video after that.

Pls dont take this this wrong. Those impact guns are junk. They say say they can do it, but sadly no. You need a better impact. You can get the cheap earthquake air ratcet and it will do the job, or go big and get a Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, and use the lisle weighted socket and it will come off. Done a number of them they take at minimum 600+ lbs of breakaway of torque. The disgruntled mechanic said hed bring his tools down to help. Id take him up on it, and get your bolt off. Hes a great guy and knowledgeable.

Get about a 5’ length of pipe and use that over the breaker bar. I think the extension will break before the bolt will. As you know I’ve done this kind of thing a bunch of times

very unlikely to shear off the crankshaft pulley bolt as the pin in your breaker bar is smaller than the bolt and will fail first if anything does break.

Looks frustrasting. I'd slide a floor jack handle over the breaker bar, go ape on it, and see what pops. Even if the bolt breaks it will not be under tension anymore and likely come out pretty easy. Worst case it breaks partway inside the crankshaft and you need to drill and extract. The pully for the timing belt will be separate from the harmonic damper, so you can always find TDC again once the damper is off. Hope I see a success update soon :D

Hey bud if you can get your hands on some liquid nitrogen that would cause the bolt to shrink then spray it with WD40 and after it’s back to room temp only try the breaker bar.

I thought about using liquid nitrogen while remembering my college chemistry days. It's an interesting idea for sure.

I did a 2000 CRV once and had a large cheater pipe with a 90, used a breakerbar no extentions (i just twisted them) had to be right on the crank bolt, it was a PITA ... don't think you have that option in the accord though. Eric the Car guy says an IR pneumatic gun and 120psi of air will crack it loose but idk. I bought the Lisle socket after that CRV and have never used it, but others swear by it (SMA, Oz, etc...) Sorry I couldn't be any help at all ... :(
