Oldham fan here - loved Gerry when he was assistant to Dickov. I was sat behind the bench at the game when he decked the Carlisle player, it was mega funny, and it did endear him to the fans. Enjoyed this interview, what a top bloke.
Saw big Gerry play on many occasions in the 90s, always the sort of bloke that you wished was on your team and not playing against you. Lion-hearted and a very decent footballer as well, great left-foot and powerful in the air.
😊😊
Ooh Gerry Gerry! Barnsley legend. Aggression, skill and character
At Bolton the Battle of Burnden is legendary! I was there for that and seeing Taggart literally run from one side to the other and grab Keith Curle by the nack on hold two others was amazing ha. Love it.
Big Gerry is a legend, always up for it, still remember him getting stuck in at burnden park in the 90s 💪, still loved at BWFC
Watched Gerry at Barnsley absolute powerhouse
Watched this a few times and laughed every single time.
Loved Tags at Leicester
One of the best so far. The Savage and Uriah Rennie stories were brilliant.
Funny thing that wasn't mentioned on the podcast - the people who Savage introduced to Dean as his parents were just two random people.
Love how Leicester signed Frank Sinclair who was clinical in front of his own net at Chelsea and then he went to Leicester and did the same, he was a cult hero to me and the boys back in the day, and didn't a Leicester player score two own goals in a game against Liverpool recently, it brought back the memories of Frank
I really enjoyed this. Taggert was a tough nut who wasnt afraid to stick his head anywhere🤕. A proper centre half. Some funny stories on this👍👍🍺🍺
again you deliver on a monday early shift for me cheers lads
Will you stop saying that
That Uriah Rennie stories absolutely brillliant!
Top top interview guys, I imagine there are more stories that Gerry could have told, keep 'em coming lads.
Watching UTC all the way from New Zealand...absolutely love it...I lived in Barnsley for 9 years so love to hear the old stories about the Tarn !! Keep up the magnificent work gents....i look forward to every upload !!! Great stuff !! MOT from NZ (Yep im Dirty Leeds) :)
MOT! we're all Leeds, nvm aren't we... we r haha
Jonathan Stanhope ALAW 💙💛
Great podcast again! Top class stories and really good insight into the workings of EFL clubs.
Brilliant interview with Taggs!
Absolute top draw episode. What a guy Gerry Taggart is,loved the stories. Being similar age and living near Barnsley I’d forgot all about Japanese whispers nightclub 😂😂
Loved big Gerry as a NI fan. Podcast fantastic, favourite so far! Stan Collymore tho... Wank!
Absolute class. What a guy
Love these, especially some of the little stories we'd otherwise never hear about. Keep up the bang average work lads 😂
Brilliant episode. 👏👍🏻
Top work again boys; best football chat around.
different class as per usual lads 👌 keep it up!!
I gave a lift back to where they were staying to a wrecked Taggs and Jim Magilton in my crappy wee car when I was delivering pizzas and they staggered into the shop back in Belfast.
Two funny bastards, top lads.
Yessss The Lads thats monday's entertainment sorted!!
Absolute quality , Gerry Taggart what a man .
Didn't realise the pools was still going... Great show again, thanks.
Thats a fearsome trio steve walsh , matty elliott , and gerry all old school centre halves
Much respect for the comments on Paul Lake
Was only going to give that 20 minutes, ended up watching it right through. It's now 2.30 am. Enjoyed it, really.
Paul Lake was incredible. Tragic injury. He'd have had some career
Quality content as always lads!
Remember when he shook Dennis Wise like a rag doll when he played for Stoke, Gerry was a top top man and player for the Potters! Dennis Wise looked terrified ha ha
my fav youtube show now!
Was at lilleshall rehab centre with paul lake for months , top lad
1:26:00 think he’s talking about Spencer Prior.
Best one yet boys
Best football podcast going!!
'Don't give the ball to Savage' loool
662 games as a professional footballer including 39 international caps.
Brilliant podcast, from the cuz, some great stories 👍🤣
Peter Beardsley once signed my trainer when he was on the bench for Bolton at Filbert Street - came out for the second half and I whipped off my trainer and asked him to sign it which he did without question! I would have been about 12. 😂
Great podcast, big up for mentiong Paul Lake again, magic player.
He seems to get mentioned a lot by these 90's players
Think his testimonial was a United v City game, with several of United’s Class of 92 turning up. Shows the esteem in which he was held.
Was at lilleshall rehab centre with him for months , think he was the longest serving person there , good lad
Uriah rennie was a class ref tbf, loved watching gerry at stoke him and Duberry no pace just raw aggression and power!
I had a ohh Gerry Gerry t-shirt back in day..Gerry used to give me tickets to match as his girlfriend lived on same street as me he used to drive I think it was a red proton car with his picture on door n all sayings like ohh Gerry Gerry wrote on car obviously it was a sponsor free car for him lol he knocked about with Lee butler a lot back then always together great times
Brilliant start to finish " don't give it fu----- Savage ---_____ and heart rate monitor on the dog .👍😂
Gonna get the cans in for this one, evening sorted.
Many hilarious stories by big Gerry.
Another belter! Great memories of watching Gerry v Sunderland for Barnsley & Leicester. Any chance of getting Graham Kavanagh on?
Solid player, solid geezer too!!
Top Class Again Lads!
They always laugh when they say a night out in Barnsley was like Ibiza. At its peak in the mid 90s there were 36 pubs in Barnsley town centre and 2 nightclubs all within a half mile radius
Stag and Hen do’s would come from all over the place. Still a good night art but not a patch of the 90s early 2000’s. Wellington Street don’t get busy till gone midnight these days, back in the day you couldn’t shift or drive a car darn it from 20:00 it wa heaving wi revellers.
@@stevenobrien3763 thar wo tucked up in bed fo 8 thee! 😂😂

The player he can't remember at 01:25:55 is Spencer Prior.
Fantastic!
Good episode..
The ‘Shez’ he refers to, is Darren, not John. The baldy one didn’t realise this
Definitely best one yet really funny
Loved that bolton team,as a teen going into adulthood
Best one ,Gerry Taggart a good pro
Brilliant that one
any link for the wee scrap? Great interview
Still loved taggs in barnsley. I remember that with the bandages in the ponty end. I remember seeing gerry in tredles wine bar absolutely fucked off is face ooh gerry gerry ooh gerry gerry
His best moment was against Dennis Wise
Oooh Gerry, Gerry! This should be good 👍🏻
Working from home, doing fuck all for the next hour and a half, cheers lads
Fantastic.
Class pod
You need to get ian marshall on hes a legend!
Top channel this .
Brilliant as always lads.
Keep them coming.
Butterfield, used to play under Mike Walker at Norwich, before John Neal took over, after Walker went to Everton.
8:20 to 10:40
13:30 to 14:05
17:13 to 19:10
Taggart Elliot and Walsh were three proper old school hard as fuck centre backs
Spencer’Prior is the clodhopper? We got Andy Morison at the same time. No comparison. You should get Andy Morison on…… in fact many of City’s team n the 90s would have great stories about Quinny and Kinkladze etc. Sheron even!
Never liked Dennis Wise has a player so to hear these stories about him being an angry little sh*t isn't a surprise. Slowly making my way through the back catalog, some cracking episodes so far.
Remember listening loads about barnsley fc on Hallam FM
Get Barry Nicholson on lads am from the same place in Dumfries as me want to here the stories of that rangers team when he was there.
Regents Park when Parky was there?
Creased again 😂 love under the cosh .
Was the two girls name blondie & Angelina ???
Yes I’ve seen them , but that’s all … if you know you know
Who gerry gerry ......quality as usuall
Who is Chez ?
Darren 'Shez' Sheridan. Fine player for Barnsley fc
Ooh Gerry Gerry!
As an Everton fan thank f there was no goal line technology
I went to the Blackburn/city match Gerry mentioned Rovers pasted city 4-0 Simon garner murdered the city defence that day
Mid to late 90s I went to Barnsley in the piss I pulled a bird got her phone number my mates said come on I hadn't noticed they had gone I walked round for an hour I couldn't find them so had to get a taxi home I was in the house before 11 days before mobiles and £30 home in a taxi 30 mile away.
Lambrusco and Mateus Rosé - true legend
The clod hopper was spencer prior
Brilliant
O'Neill was a disaster at Sunderland. Was barely at training and the dressing room was in cliques. Bought Fletcher, Johnson and Graham who just made the drinking mentality at the club even worse. Robertson not being with him was the issue in my opinion.
Great lad gerard was a man mountain even when he was a child
#TaggartInJail
Luv ya Taggs
another great podcast. one thing though, i wouldnt like to get on the wrong side of taggart, his eyes are intense. HOPEFULLY he isnt another who headed a wet soggy ball too many times during the 80's and early 90's and is starting to suffer early dementia.
Bang on that!
Get dean holdsworth on! And Ask him about when he robbed paul Ritchie's car and left it in the middle of the road outside the stadium causing havoc haha
08:20 to 10:45 17:25 to 19:10
Hendry was there.
“Barnsley used to be like ibiza”😂😂😂
Legend - LTID
Who’s chez?
my guess would be john sheridan
Shez is Darren Sheridan, john Sheridans brother.
