I'm going through what my mind percieves as a tough time in my life, and his closing remarks made me tearful - thank you Trey, you touched me with those words. I'll remember them always.

@Jez2008UK good - that is nice to hear. I say these things sometimes, and I'm never really sure if they resonate with others... they do with me, for sure, but it's nice to hear this, so thank you.
@OzBloke2007 hehe no no... Surely I start to repeat myself after a few talks! :)

You obviously haven't even bothered to check out my channel before making such an ignorant comment. I am qualified to speak freely on the topic of photography & digital imaging. My work in this field has been openly available online for peer review for more then 5 years.
Next time you want to flame someone, do yourself a favor and take the ten seconds to actually check out a person's channel before embarrassing yourself so completely.

People have a tendency to set boundaries or limitations to photography. If it is not 100% natural it becomes fake, therefore they cannot justify it. How many photographers make it known that there photos are not HDR. They depend on ND graduated filters to enhance there photos. It know becomes a hardware vs software conflict. History has a tendency to repeat itself. One can only imagine what Ansel Adams went through with the zone system. Enjoy your HDR work....

HDR is NOT photography. Its PHOTO ART.
Despite the involved technical setup, in my opinion, these images look completely artificial and cheesy.
It looks something you'd get from a bloatware photo app bundled on a smartphone with a name like "Insta-Dream" or "Super Colorizer"
    Barf.
    MESSAGE FOR NEW PHOTOGRAPHERS:
Focus on taking proper photographs because gimmicks don't belong on the front page of anything.

Thank you (this is Trey btw)
@Caramanduga100 they are not made with a special camera... most any camera will do. It's mostly something you can do when you put the photo on your computer -- google "HDR Tutorial" and you will see mine! :)

Most all have been re-touched - you can see more at my HDR Tutorial -- just google "HDR Tutorial" and you should see mine

Like I said, HDR is craptography. A fun gimmick for a weekend project.

I appreciate very much your apparent candor about your photography. The first time I saw your work, I was divided in my thoughts. One side of me thought the photos and the end products were fantastic, beautiful and very attractive. The other side said that there was something unnatural about them. I still have this feeling, but because of your openness, I do not have the depth of concern about the unnatural nature.
As you admit, I think, you are an artist more than a photographer (maybe both with the emphasis on art), which to me is what you have. I considered all my life that the work of Ansel Adams was the crowning glory of photography, but I also realize that his work was somewhat unnatural, tending toward art and I loved it. There is nothing wrong with using all of your skills and all of the mind's abilities to produce works that cause people to have joy and happiness from it. I think you do this, and i enjoy your work.
I also think you are wonderful in wanting to know more of what those who do not like your work have to say and why. I think all people grow more from those that criticize them (if it is done honestly and with a desire to improve) than they do from those who unabashedly applaud them.
Thanks for the work you do, and for opening up new worlds for everyone to enjoy.

Excellent, sir. I have been trying to put my knowledge of physics, the light spectrum, and visible colour together into one pile (inside my head). Thanks for putting this vid up.

i love hdr when its used proper. but its easy to tell who uses it in a good way, and those who just found out there's a program called photomatrix.

Any image captured with a camera is a photograph. How you feel about that photograph is a personal matter. Just because your world is full of narrow limitations, doesn't mean the rest of us should follow the same lame existence.

  • @deb0atl
    @deb0atl 11 років тому

Well, if you said so, it must be true. Yeah, you are the definitive source on photography and art, even though you have no port or youtube channel about photography. Get over yourself.....

very good vid. these photos really inspired me to give hdr a go so i went out and tried it. have a look at my attempts on my channel or my website ( link to it on my channel)

Oh, I saw your "work". Your work further illustrates your narrow minded view of what is "legitimate" photography and art. No one is the authority on either, especially you :)

your opinion is yours but one thing is certain - -you cant stop the evolution of technology, art and thought...just be respectful of it and stop hating...You may want to rethink your gimmickry comment as you share in this technology as well. peace.
