Garrett is the most overrated player in the history of the game mate... play ABC poker against massive whales... he ain't coming back because even these dudes are actually quite good players. Nowhere near Triton/online level but very competent
The fact Mariano didn't rabbit hunt the river shows his mindframe when playing. I think its a good thing to not be results oriented and have a gameplan..cause most of us lowstake players would be begging to see that river card😄
I really don't know why they declined Airball's request for the clock. He had already given him 4.5 minutes, that's more than reasonable to call the clock.
That "... I need water" comment triggered me. Sad i know, but dam we know ur rich but u cant afford some bloody manners. Im sure thats y so many arent fond of this individual
Mathematically, this should be a fold. The equity calculator they use on the show factors in all the cards of all players at the table. Mariano’s true equity is no greater than 32% before eliminating all the non-diamond hands in Nik’s range. So, realistically, Mariano’s equity is closer to 28% which is 8% shy of what he needs for a call based on the pot odds. Good fold.
i really don't think mariano had a decision to make there as much as he had to think about the chips for the rest of the night, rent money, etc. that dude can play, he knows where he is at. ace king or queen, which you have good equity against, or air, he's fairly face up at this point. airball is a very good player and good for this game. i don't get the hate for him. he's annoying, especially when pros are at the table, but he also brings it every night and he knows where he is at and the good outweighs the bad.
The odds were calculated incorrectly though. It’s a lot closer to to a fold, he would need more bluffs to make it a call. Not seeing many bluffs taking this line when he has the 10d in his hand. 32% equity.
Ace of hearts on the board is the inflection point. You just don't want to see ace x of diamonds. You're doing fine against a range that doesn't include Ax of diamonds. If you put AdXd into his range you're prooobably not good. That's how I'd see it in game... I'd hope lol
graphics are way off here and im surprised tuchman didn't notice it , he doesn't have 40% equity , they added in a gutshot for some reason , he has 14 outs so he has 30% equity
5:43 am i wrong w 40% odds its a +EV call? maybe im calculating this wrong but if he calls its a 60% chance to win &116,800 and a 40% chance to lose $68,000 which comes out to an EV of $6k to call? obviously he doesn’t know he has a 40% chance so it’s kinda a tossup irl
im new to poker and im curious what the explanation is for why QJhh has worse equity preflop then JTdd and 43hh. Like yes, it's clearly worse than AQss in the sense that AQ wins if the q pairs. But it beats JT in any straight with a T, it beats JT if J pairs, and it beats 4/3 if the heart flush comes.
Because the aq had qj wrapped up and the j10 took away more outs so it has the worst equity because of all 4 went to the flop, it would be highly unlikely they would 1) hit a pair or a straight or a flush given the cards everyone else is holding.
It's out of subject but can anyone explain to me what is the goal of a straddle? If the game is 300BB and players straddle almost all the time why they don't just play a level higher with 100BB?
Obvious nik knew Mariano was draw heavy with the flop call and was content to not let it go any further than the turn. The fact is his turn bet shows he doesn't want to get drawn out on. If you know any of your draws are good then it's really just a question of equity. Nik was trying to shut down all draws from the word go.
Was Mariano talking about nik furball in the beginning lol. You know Ryan had to approach nik with the proposition "hustler needs a villain and since it's impossible to make you likeable, will you be our villain?"
That 40 percent is taking into account the cards that have been removed. In Mariano's mind, he is getting more like 28 -29 percent. It's just barely a fold based on thenpot odds with mariano thinking he has 14 outs, but when you consider the small possibility that you might have the best hand, I don't hate the call.
Equity on screen is wrong. Regardless, he’s not getting right price against Nik’s range, probably roughly 25-28%? My guess without plugging it in. Call is losing money. This is why you don’t call with hands like this preflop with this SPR.
I have seen him do his little table talk and then give someone at the table next to him his awkward little wink so many times. It’s always when he just knows he has the best hand in spots like this. People playing him will eventually see that if they haven’t already. Every time I see him wink at someone not talking to him and not in the hand it just makes me cringe.
I've seen people go all in like LikDickBall and get destroyed with a slow played set, AK, Ax diamonds. He might be winning money but the other players have a higher respect for their money as they earned their money through jobs or like Mariano grinding to build it. DickBall likely inherited, playing with family wealth or won a lottery.
Airball is probably the best player at that table and has probably won his money playing poker. You can look up the cumulative results of these games and hes up a ton. I'd much rather play with a guy like airball who has a little personality and can juice the action up a bit than most of these other guys even if Nik can be a bit of a dick at times.
@@3BetLight currently i would also say airball was the best at this table, meriano a second but with larger potential in the next 2 years. still airball isnt an airball, plays mostly pretty snug and builds his image as a loose cannon. classic hustling, his game is solid but rather on the tighter side. mariano is not totally there but he is going the garrett route, hyper agression and controlling the game.

Dead cards are accounted for in that odds. When you account for dead cards, Mariano has 12 outs from 30 remaining cards which is 40% chance.
