Good on you lad I have listened to this song like hundreds times all ready . It brings me back to the golden age of hip-hop and to be honest not many artists are capable to do so .
‘Thun’ is something Mobb Deep made up from Queens Bridge imitating a lot of the guys around the way saying ‘Son’ with a lisp. So it comes out, “Thun”. Lol. They made it into a thing, and Nas uses it too to pay homage to Mobb Deep. He said it throughout his career in multiple songs
Nas “30” Thun is from a friend of Nas from QB who was trying to say “Sun” but My understanding is He had a speech impediment I guess… so Thun is a QB term from His Homie SP
We love that you love Nas! Having said that, there are sooooo many other mc's that you can still also cover instead of primarily reviewing a bunch of songs from the same 3-4 groups/artists. Nas, Wu, Mobb Deep are amazing! Wait til you get to some of the other rappers, your gonna flip! Keep up the great work man! I definitely like checking out your content!
Here is a good song you can check out since you are into kicks. There is a song called “Classic” better than I’ve ever been. It is a promo song for Nike produced by DJPeemier about the Air Force 1’s. The song features Kanye, Rakim, Nas , KRS-ONE. The “God MC” has a bar that says “ Timeless so age don’t count in the booth when your flow stays submerged in the fountain of youth”
@@dzcab9371 lol why are u givin this kid more songs with Nas still? lol That song is dope but there is literally I lifetime of music from all of the mcs in that song that this brotha could or should listen to first. But I get that u mentioned it cause dude is sneaker head...but unfortunately they dont rap about kicks in the song much..Dope song tho regardless! But this young man needs to be hearing Return Of The Boom Bap album, Rakim's first 3 albums (if we're talkin about mcs from the "classic" song u referenced...But again, none of this is a complaint cause its cool to see younger people discovering and paying attention to music before their time and its cool to have these convos about songs with other music heads such as yourself...Salute!
@@JerseyArtProductions I get where you coming from about trying to show the younger generation the history of Hip-Hop and that NY sound. As an older hip hop head from the Tri State I have grown to appreciate younger artist that have been influenced by my style of Hip hop and keeping the boom bap sound alive. Artist like Joey badass whose 1999 album from 2012 when he was 17 is a homage to NY Boombap style from the 90’s. Songs like Waves, From da Tomb, and one of the best songs on album Hard knock show the evolution of Boom bap and Joey’s genius.
The lyric page you was using was annoying as hell! They got so many of the bars wrong! But yeah, Thun is what Queens niggas used to say instead of son (sometimes) back in the 90's.... My era. And yes, I'm a Queens cat... Born, raised and still laying my head in the boro right now! #QGTM (that's Queens Get Tha Money youngin lol)
Us Virgo are usually late bloomers. Sun ain't even begun to be done. I feel Nas has some things he's taken personal over many years of many beefs. When you've fought most your battles by yourself, you sharpen and clean your best weapons. Constantly trying to stay on your game and ahead of your enemies.
@@57kwest originally called “Court Purples” the first ones released where black and purple but these came out in 2019 as a retro look and “refresh” and got nicknamed the “lakers” for the white and purple color way. The bottoms got a yellow lining also.

Thun is that Queensbridge talk. Mobb Deep is the originator of the thun language
Another QB vet originated the word THUN not Havoc and definitely not P
Mobb deep is not the originator of the Thun language
I thought it was called dun language for some reason
Somebody in their squad with an speech impediment would try to say son, but I would come on thun.
