  • In this vid I show two ways to find a break in a perimeter wire (robot lawnmower/invisible doggie fence). Only one method worked for me.

It's Spring #2 and the wire made it through the winter. After the robot mowed the lawn a few times, the wire was broken again. It turned out that one of my splices had become exposed and the robot's back wheel kept hitting it. You know, using the splice connector for traction. It worked he connector off just enough to break the electrical connection of the splice.

I had some thatching done on my lawn and my wife cut the wire in a few spots. I think she cut the wire in many different spots actually because I’ve tried to locate it and have been unsuccessful. My Landroid most days spends more time stuck or with the mower lifted error than actually cutting so I’m considering selling it after two summers.
Worx Landroid is great when it is actually running but when it is not because of wire cut, mower lifted, or stuck somewhere, etc, it’s useless

My favorite trick is to use door mats. I get a rubber front door mat that has lots of holes. I lay it on the trouble spot and fill the holes with dirt and grass seeds. The grass hides most of the mat. Being black, the mat is easily mistaken for dirt. The rubber provides the robot traction and protection to the grass. On Amazon look at "DII Rubber Doormats Collection All Weather, 18x30, Lattice"
