My static and I are currently partying, here. I never made it to the far east back on retail, but I FINALLY made it out here with my friends on Nasomi. My friends from high-school no less! I love the music. Thanks for sharing this!
I have a few specific memories here. More like fragments really. But one was doing some NM enemy. Probably the Nis Puk NM Im seeing looking at the xiclopdeia. Another memory was farming Marids for exp. We would pull a marid and the tank would keep it entertained. Then the dps would annihilate all the chigoes that spawned. Would give us massive chains. Eventually this was patched out and I never could figure out why. Sometimes the XI devs just didnt like us having fun! Another memory was when I was asked to come to a PT by a bunch of JPs. They specifically told me (ninja) that I wasnt tanking and that I was just going to DPS. The JP nin was going to tank. Well.. fine with me! EXP is EXP!. So I rolled up to this PT and the killing commenced.. one slight problem.. the JP ninja tank was using a scorp harness and evasion gear. I was wearing a haubergeon and, okote, fuma etc. I was literally tanking just by DPSing. But we killed for like an hour and then disbanded and everyone was happy. One final memory is when we were killing some colibri and were getting chain 50+ consistently. Exp was like 10k an hour or something. One guy (my friend) was upset we werent killing and getting 200 exp per kill, even though exp over time was twice as higher than what we would get if we moved to ITs... >.> (we moved to ITs and they took like 2 mins to kill each yet he was happier with his 200 exp. Crazy!) lol. I really miss the days of XI. I doubt we will ever get a game like it again. At least not in my lifetime. We would probably need some kind of AI revolution so we can all stay at home instead of working. These days people just want to log in, do what they need to and log out. There is no time to stick around and smell the red roses.

The servers are still up but it's a far cry from when it was on ps2 & eventually released to xbox/pc.
