Great tip on bevel adjustment by taking off motor on the 500.🤛🏽🇺🇸
Excellent, learned alot

1. Always set the miter first !
2. Set plate Height
3. Double check plunge depth
Therein lies my conundrum setting my plate height before my angle ! I am loving these live vids !
*note this is reference to Bevels *
Love having this content available as I learn how to use Domino jointer on my first 45 degree bevel. Cherry frame for stained glass - need it get it right. Thanks for all the tips.
I just bought the domino and used both of these joints in this video for my first day in the shop with it or ever using one. I made 2 6ft outside corners fluted for a window... I ripped each piece of polar on a 45, stick fixed the saw marks, marked my boards and started my mortises. Beyond easy.. 8 dominos on the tight setting. They dry fit perfectly and super square at 6ft long. The second application I'm callin bottom plates for long panels laying on their sides on curbing..stock is 5/4x4" on the money. I did exactly what Sedge did with 2 10×50 dominos and man o man o mano... perfection once again. I also laminated a few aother items all in the same day. This was record breaking for me and upped my game....
My 500 will be here tomorrow and I can’t wait. Thanks for All the great tips.
Thanks for all these Festool Lives! They are such a great resource and I love that I can reference them if I'm ever having issues
Flawless operation
Thanks Festool for having Sedge as a host, and also for the effort to give us some knowledge during this crazy times.

Steve from Beeston UK
Excellent video and topic as always from you folks.
My first domino project years ago was doing returns on a few hand rails. I have used it for many projects since but still learn something from these videos!

Great demo thanks Sedge & greetings from Australia. I've had my Domino for many years and use it frequently. You have shared new things with me today. Thank you. BTW - I want your Festool shirt! So cool.
Thanks for the tips 🙏🏻 from Romania 🇹🇩
Welcome!
Oh my gosh. That clamp! I have never seen that before.
Fought and fought with mine. After sending it to get looked at turns out it was out of spec from factory. Unfortunately, I have to pay for the repair😲
Wow good info! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Good technique on setting the machine up with centerline on the fence plate.
Can you tell me what device you were using to hold your wood in place whilst you were cutting the mitres?
What kind of clamp were you using to hold your board as you were making your miter joints?
So glad I found this video right before cutting bevels at 50 deg on 45 MM stock. Confirmed my choice of 10MM dominos, but location tips were perfect.
Glad it helped!
I'm trying to join material with 45° but the material is 15mm. I keep go9ng all the way through. Is it just that the 5mm cutter is too big for that material?
How do I do 3/4” miter joints on the domino xl? Is there a shim plate I need to get closer to the inside of the joint? And what bit size is needed?
Awesome episode
Very informative. Do you have on showing fitting table rail to the leg where the thickness is different? I struggle to see how you set out dominos on the leg
Can you make a shop tour? I see interesting thing a want to add to my shop from yours. Thank's from Stéphane in Montréal
Have a shutter job of 24 different sized shutters , requiring attaching vertical blades to a large 2 light door 2450 high x 1856 wide I.e. 56 mm x 145 mm top rail and styles central horizontal mid rail , 185 x 56 bottom rails . Every shutter is different as they are in sets which slide back even and slide out to cover the gap with the styles overlaying each other even. The blades have a gap between blades of approx 25 to 27mm at worked out measure to fit the opening. How is the best way to drill and secure the blades to the rails? To get the registering correct so when using domino , I’ll get the blades spaced correctly .
How to join miter 2 different thickness material?
When you point things out (marks, centerlines, settings, etc), please wait for the camera to catch up so we can actually see what you're pointing to. Or use a pencil to point to them.
Is it necessary to change the width of the mortise only while the machine is running? I have heard if you change the width of the mortise without the unit running that over time could shear a pin and to make sure you only change the width while the unit is running true or false?
True. Only change mortis width while machine is running.
he wasn’t flush with bevel end on 2nd biscuit. also, they just casually have that air clamp holdy thingy on set knwing we are gonna want to know about it!
"Mota" for motor. 😆 🤣 😂
Hay can I get 5x30 into 5/8th on a 45
Hi there! No but you can with 4x20mm!
@@festoolusa thanks for getting back to me .what about a scarf joint for base board also at a 45
Somehow when he says "wida mita" I know that, although he says he is coming to you from Lebanon, IN, he is not a Hoosier.......
