You have one of the best intros on UA-cam. The timing of the music is perfect.
I have a Zoom 5 and it's bena treasure but i am blown away by all the things you can attach this the Zoom F1, thanks for the awesome video man :)
Great video Sean. I've been watching you and your channels for a few months now when first started this fitness UA-cam channel. I learned so much from you personally and Video Influencers. I've been wanting to make my audio better thank you for this video.
What are the odds of me coming on here to see if you have made any videos about external audio recorders only to find you just released one 4 hours ago?! Thanks again for a great channel, Sean! You helped me get over my fears and get my Channel started. I am still in my early learning phase but with each video I learn something new and come up with a couple of new ideas for future videos. I can't thank you enough for the work you do here and on Video Influencers. Bless you! //Evalena
I love this! I most definitely need one since my camera is a cheaper one and lacks great audio quality when I am too far away. I'm about 2 months in with my channel so I look forward to necessary upgrades!! Thanks so much for sharing these!!! 💞
Thanks for all the tips you have been helping my friends and I grow our channel! Slowly but steady! I think it is time to upgrade our sound equipment!
Awesome video and amazing content. Thank you for introducing an amazing product.
Thank you so much for this video! I love it!
Wow! Great video Sean. Hey... just a question here... I just saw the shockmount on the F1. Is it an accessory we can get seperatly? I have the H4n and H1 and could use one of these!!
nice video can't wait to save up for the zoom f1!
Really Love the Zoom Products, I have the Zoom H1 and it has really added a lot of value! 😉🤚
Cool. This is something I've been looking for something like this
Love this...and will be looking into it.
Just bought this today.. content is gonna through the roof haha
Awesome! Thank you for a look at this device.
Nice video as always.👌
I definitely need it!! My audio sucks :( Thanks Sean:) ... another great tip!
This is super cool! How is the digital noise when recording compared to their other recorders like the H4n vs H6?
Can you passthrough to the camera and record audio on the device AND the camera.... or does it meerely pass the signal through?
Hey Sean, another great review as usual!
How does the F1 differs from the H1n in terms of recording quality? Let's say you use the same left/right stereo mic on both.
I went to get an h4 a few weeks ago but ended up getting the H5 and it seems to have better inputs and individual analog controls. Seems like a better option for audio.
Sean please do a video with your export settings for UA-cam! They look crispy!
Thats amazing information ... thanks buddy
🙏⚡💯
WOW, what a great tool to have in the arsenal.
I tried out the shotgun mount you recommended on a previous video and I have to say thanks to you my videos for educational use have been going strong, would love to know what would be some of the best under £30 that still preforms decent.
It sounds really good... Nice...
The sound it great but I think that makes that product awesome is the feature to save the audio in SD in the equipment, that's really cool. Plus the analog button make it easy to configure the gain of the audio. Actually I use the RODE VIDEO MIC to record the audio of my videos and I use AUDACITY for the edition. AUDACITY is free and help me a lot in the audio edition because in my case I have a very noisy environment. Sean thanks for the info and keep going bro!!🚀💯💪
I have this, it's awesome.
WHOA!!!!!! This is AWESOME!!! RODE killer?!?! 😳
Like it! Need it! thx for the info! could really use that on "Eric Tries it!" very echo in my kitchen where i do most of my shots.
Best channel ever
Is there a bundle package that includes the lav mic and the shot gun mic in one or would I have to buy both seperately?
Zoom is a great company! They make a lot of stuff for musicians too like guitar FX pedalboards.
Very nice video
I'm seriously considering this.
is there any products where, you can edit recorded audio and still keep the same tempo and move any where in the time line recording and insert new audio?
Shotgun mic and lepel mic sounded great. Zoom stuff is outstanding. I use their guitar stuff. Of course, you could buy one of their music camera's that captures audio and video in low light and concert light, etc, and just use it instead if you are just starting and don't have a mirrorless camera, or dslr, and JUST makr YT or VLOGs.
Hey Sean, do you have any tips for a teen (13) who wants to start a UA-cam channel?
I am determined and I know a lot about cameras, editing and all of that aspect that I love and that is learnable (which made me discover your awesome channel a long time ago), but when it comes to channel or video ideas... original stuff... I feel like everything you talk about on that subject only stick to people who have a brand or particular stuff they can share. I learnt pretty much everything I know from UA-cam! What can I and people like me do?
Sean, what I really need and have not been able to find anywhere on UA-cam or the net is a video on the best DSLR settings and tips for filming through teleprompter beam splitter glass. Now that good quality teleprompters are becoming much cheaper and much lighter, more UA-camrs are using them. But we need help with things like compensating for the loss of light to the lens, problems with the black cloth sometimes covering the sensor for the bluetooth remote, balancing the teleprompter and camera on the tripod, etc. Can you help? I hope so. Your videos are always spot on and so helpful.
Awesome
I just use a basic Sony external mic on my Sony camcorder, would this provide better sound than just a shotgun mic by itself? I am looking for better quality sounds in nature videos than I get with my external Sony mic.
Look like a Good product.
Sean how does the F1 compare to the H2N?
How do we setup the mic on the camera m50 Canon
I need to step up my audio game. I don’t use a mic on any of my videos 🤔🤔
Hi guys, what do you think of the zoom F1 vs the H1N ? both can fit in a pocket but the H1N is at half the price, has in built stereo mic and seems to have the sames fonctionnalities than the F1... I'm looking for a simple audio recording setup, and it'll be my first (and probably the only one) audio recorder just for some review/vlogging type videos
The preamp should be good, but at the same time the lapel mic should not be Omni. It should rather be cardiod or what they call 'super cardiod' which means that it is directional. The lapel mic recording in this video is amateurish, while the shotgun sounded so pro.
can I use my vmoda boom mic on this device?
Available in online store? Here in Asia :)
Nice audio recorder
I would be curious to see how it compares to a rode mic
Is there any way to improving synchronicity? Lips and vid are out of step. Thx.
I recently purchased a Zoom f1 with a lavalier mic and was very disappointed. I have used Sennheiser mostly when I have worked for companies in the past and I have been in video production since 2009 but my company didn't give me a budget for gear and so I bought the zoom f1 out of my own pocket.
I tested the zoom f1 with different settings and my conclusion was it does not record well with clipping the mic to my clothes as all the pictures show and I expected it to. No matter the settings there was always an echo and background noise. The only way I was able to capture great audio was I had to hold the mic to my mouth to get a rich crisp sample.
Talent should not have to hold their mic to capture good audio. Are there any settings you would suggest before I decide to return this product?
sir , can i ask you a question ?
i have around 600$ to invest in a camera ,
i like to do short films and some random yt videos
so should i go for canon g7x mark 2
or any mirrorless cameras pricing around my budget ?
not a great lover of vlogging
plz suggest me
really confused regarding starting off
hows this stand up to the tascam
How is it with music fixelity?
Number 62!
So fast!
Nice UA-camr.
notification sqaud like ❤️
👊💛💯
Hamza El Hanafi Please sub back to my channel❤️
A portable audio recorded for video is such a necessity.
Nice! So i can just plug a male minni trs to 2x female minni into the line in and be able to do a 2 person interview with a 2ND lav without having to buy an 2nd Zoom F1. ill just need to get a extender cable for one of the lav cables.....SWEEET!!
Wow. That lapel audio sounded pretty awful. Does the XLR capsule still have the limitation that you don't get the ability to send phantom voltage?
"That lapel audio sounded pretty awful."
Actually no, the lavelier sounds way better, but that's difficult to appreciate when you've just spent several minutes listening to somepne shouting into a handheld mic from 1 inch away with loads of compression and filtering.
You shoud probably lookup sme actual reviews and not this improvised stuff they did with zero preparation.
I have a question, I was approached by a company to present their product on my main channel in exchange for free sample Not money. How do I present the product in the video, is it considered a sponsored video, if I am not getting paid? What do I say? How do I approach presenting the item?
I just wonder who might need such amazing audio? Anyone who knows about their equipment wouldn't have to be told...and if they didn't know, then they probably wouldn't notice the difference.
Cheaper Alternatives?
I have the original H1. It cost me abt $100. So I don’t really want to get a new one!
The Lapel mic sounded pretty damn muddy to me and the shotgun mic sounded like it was nothing but high-end/treble. Great video nonetheless. Jam on!
Hear me out
Zoom h1+ boya lav mic= gold
I like the idea, but first I need to actually learn how to work with audio. 😅
wow .. I need this
check my editing tutorials 🌷
Wasn't the lapel mic wav recording really lousy with no noise cancellation and voice sounded muffled. The shotgun mic was far far superior.
The F1-LP sounded better than the F1-SP
Can we hear it?
Oh... it was near the end.
For the price, I would think it would sound as good as your normal mic, but the background noise in both tests alone is kinda off-putting
There's something a little funny about the fact that the microphone that he's using isn't doing well on those plosives while he's talking about getting good audio.
That hand mic you are using is no good at eliminating plosives
Give way Date winner name
You can't use the headphone jack and ALSO have it feeding audio into your camera. there is only ONE audio output.
Love your videos Sean, but be a little more careful when talking about gear.
Bhai aap best lekin muje bhi channel start kar na hai mere age 13 years hai mai UA-cam channel ke liye intro, logo, bell intro, description sab kuch kar leta hu lekin content nahi mil pata hai kay karu kuch sajas karo muje aap ka number de do yaar fir muje aap ke aak video mai chota sa role dede please bhai
fight ksi !
you are reading this in the present.
Battery catch is awful, very easy for talent to knock open IMO.
Arrrrr AA batteries, zoom that is so frustrating.
Wow! Great video Sean. Hey... just a question here... I just saw the shockmount on the F1. Is it an accessory we can get seperatly? I have the H4n and H1 and could use one of these!!
Yan Thériault Unfortunately the H4N does not have the removable capsule port. The capsules are sold individually, and will fit onto several recorders, namely the F1, H5, H6, and F4, F8.
Andy Bullen No I was referring to the shockmount. The little piece of plastic you can screw under the mic and slip into the hot show of a DSLR. It avoids vibrations sounds to spill in.
Oh nice.... apparently I "zoomed" right through that one!
Sean. Would love to see a video on setting up an at home video podcast “studio.”
