"You're just like one of us, you'll never do anything great, if you think you'll make it, you're just dreaming." We were just farmers for the elite. It's really sad, but at the same time, I think it makes his accomplishments even better, and it probably shaped his personality.
GSP did not do Olympic wrestling, or any Top Tier wrestling, but has the (Most Take Downs in UFC History) simply with his amazing timing on his opponents footwork after causing a distraction of some sort. His IQ was incredible to the incredible! He could quite literally put together a nice game plan on how to beat any style of fighter from Conor, to Khabib Styles, and worked hard at just that throughout his Marvelous career. Takes 3+ years off from fighting, and then returns only to snatch the Middleweight Title like "WHAT?" Becomes a Double Champ, and makes history. Today, GSP still works hard at grappling, and sharpening his submissions and even still submit 90% or more of the current top 20 in Welterweight with NO PROBLEM. George St. Pierre, and Randy Couture both started the New Style of combat we know today... (Good Take Downs, and Ground N Pounding, can beat Good Striking, and also beat Good Wrestling as well through submissions after the Take Down) Whenever George was WALKING the octagon, he looked like the MMA Messiah. Whenever George was FIGHTING in the octagon, he looked like the future of fighting, and was conditioned better than all of his opponents. George demanded to right the 2 wrongs he suffered in the octagon FAST to clear up any doubt of him, and then went on to win and become a Undisputed Double Champ. If you were a better striker than George.... It's fine, he would take you down all night and leave a mark on you each time he does it. If you were a better wrestler than George... It's fine, he would take you down 1st and force you to strike more than you want and he would TKO you or submit you once he fatigued you. If you were well rounded in both Striking and Wrestling, then George used his gymnanast mentality, and would Out Work you until you fatigue from his relentless pressure and feints. George had untouchable stamina and used it to exhaust his opponents. We all have our picks of who the GOAT is or should be. George has the Most Take Downs in UFC History, and 99% of future fighters won't even touch his record in that category. George also is in the (Top 5 in UFC History) in several other HUGE categories like, (Title Defenses), (Title Wins), (Double Champ), (Control Time over the Opponent), (Significant Strikes Landed %), (Consecutive Rounds Won), and a few others as well. He simply fought well in all aspects of a fight, and had a counter for everything. George looked a Champion before he was a Champion. He carried himself WELL, and fought like a Champion every single time. To me, George St. Pierre is the GOAT of the UFC. To me, George St. Pierre has the highest IQ in MMA. To me, George did this the right way, (RESPECTFULLY AND WITH BRAVERY) as well as trying to be a Role Model for Kids and Young Adults in Gymnastics. To me, I seriously doubt I will see a future fighter in any generation dominate and out wit their opponents more than George did his generation. George's fight style started the new revolution of MMA and how you can defeat Strikers or Wrestlers through sheer dedication to know your every weakness and use it against you in ways you CAN'T stop if you tried. George St. Pierre ~ "GOAT of the UFC" "The Most Skilled Fighter" "The best to ever do it"

He clearly drugged his opposition through the potent poutine fart. It wafted inside the arena and rendered his opposition useless. He was unphased through sleeping in a hyperbaric fart chamber. He's a con.
I was lucky enough to see most of his run and let me tell you this the hype is real. Never seen someone like him. GSP is 22 and 2 and not only got this wins back he embarrassed both Matt’s when they ran it back!

That loss to Matt Serra was devastating. My best friend at the time, and I watched TUF religiously and bought most of the PPV events. I remember it all well. It was a very exciting time to be an MMA fan.
I have just recently come across your channel. The effort you put into your videos is on par with the best out there. Thank you for sharing your love and talent with the rest of the world.
John Danaher is 100% correct, it comes down to the viewer and it shows the type of characters you accept as the GOAT. Those that brush off cheating as a way to gain victory, will most likely choose Jon Jones. Those that value a perfect record over quality opponents will probably accept Khabib as the goat. For me, it's simple, the quality of the opponents and not cheating your way in building your legacy are the utmost importance when comparing the three. GSP is the true GOAT.
But Khabib's record is not perfect.... Half of his record are fake fights, opponents that only fought once in their "professional career" or had zero wins and three losses... How is that a perfect record... Even if you take all that away, he only had a small number of fights against real top 5 fighters. He should never be considered as the GOAT.
Amazing video. Top quality work, great pacing, awesome insight. But I am begging you to please find a second impact sound to use, the same one slap gets old after a few minutes and two hours of it might actually be a method of torture lol
Ultimately I believe it’s all the character traits, along with the career triumphs, trials and tribulations that culminated together into GSP’s God status in the world of UFC. Undoubtedly, the greatest stories in the history of our lives is when we chase our goals, only to get derailed off our unbeaten path by the unknown & unforeseen circumstances of life itself. It’s what we do afterwards, how we deal with feeling defeated and managing to overcome those new obstacles that create legacies. GPS is a realistically self aware man who never tried to end careers or ever needed a ref to pull him off of an opponent. He lost twice, and avenged those loses with the same amount of humility, class and respect shown to everyone else, no matter the outcome. GSP is the definition of a man’s man in my eyes. He is what every parent wishes to raise their children to be like, and displays himself as a role model to imitate as an adult. There are genuinely great people in the world of MMA. But the ones who’ve reached the highest levels of success in the sport can’t say their on GSP’s level.
Bro I was 5 minutes in and I’m man enough to admit it. I cried. Cause I thought I was the only one who felt like that. Love the video, keep up the great work
Awesome video man, you killed it putting this tribute together! The other big part of George's legacy to me was his character, his poise, his positive & motivational attitude, and how he always held himself to a much higher and more professional standard than his competition.. Like a true champion and professional athlete should carry themselves if they wish to command true respect in the eyes of the world. While his opponents would show up half drunk to press conferences in sunglasses talkin trash non-stop, George would always just remain calm and poised in his perfectly tailored suits waiting for them to kindly STFU already!.. I never really understood why some fighters/athletes choose to try out that whole super trash talking tough guy act because it seems like a total lose lose situation for someone to put themselves in.. First of all, it just makes you look like a complete jackass in that moment rather than making you look more tough or something, and then come actual fight night you've only cranked up that intense pressure to win even further on yourself since nothing could be more cringe or completely embarrassing than getting demolished after having just talked sh*t for the past few weeks straight... Future GOATs should take notes from St-Pierre's story and from his career.
While being the "GOAT" can be debatable i think that as a "fighter ambassador" of the sport, GSP is second to none. Great video as always 🔥 Would love to see you tell the story of Demetrious Johnson one day 🐭
To be a goat is not to just be undefeated as even the best fighters in the world in each combat sport has loss like muhammad ali, mike tyson, sugar ray Robinson, and even floyd mayweather in his amateur career, rodtang, mighty mouse, gsp and etc they all lost but what seperates them from others is how they can dominate the competition after losing and in some cases completely dominate the fighters that they lost too. To be the greatest isn't to be perfect and have a perfect record to be the greatest is to dominate the competition no matter if you ever lost or not and be able to compete with the elite
@@lionelrivera_MMA maybe but i do consider khabib as one of the greats, and i feel like if he had even fought longer and lost, i 100% know he would learn from his loss and beat his opponent like gsp, however due to his career being cut short because of his father's passing and his mom asking him to stop which i respect 100% we didn't get to see how much of legend khabib could've been even more than he is now.

@@joelcaron8291 Actually, Khabib said Georges is Abdulmanap's favorite fighter. However, Abdulmanap himself had quite clearly said that he considers Jon Jones to be the best fighter ever.
Depends how you're judging greatness . Silva was like Roy Jones Jr. His prime was the greatest , no one could touch him. Jones is a cheater . Gsp has losses. D. Johnson, khabib,, Fedor, gsp, and Jones all have claims for and against them as goat. I'd take prime silva or dj over anyone else. But everyone has their own fighters abilities they value , or rank higher
The true GOAT will not be undefeated. He will have a few losses, he will have longevity, he will have evolution over his career, he will not ever be suspended for PEDs or have a DQ loss on his record. The only 3 fighters who can claim that are Khabib, Amanda snd George and Khabib did not fight long enough IMHO to be in the conversation. Khabib was the most dominant, but not the greatest
Great video! To put into perspective.... GSP created the MMA following in Canada! Saturday nights are traditionally hockey nights here. But GSP got an entire country hooked on MMA. The way he handled himself gave the sport credibility. Always wearing a suit, always respectful. He was what the sport needed in the early days. I often wonder with the modern WWE style promotion of the UFC if modern fans would appreciate him. I never would have gotten into the sport without him!
This is what I love about MMA. Theres so many big names. In soccer the 2 biggest names are messi and ronaldo. In basketball theres LeBron and Jordan. In baseball its Shohei Otani. In MMA you can say over 5 people and make an argument.

GSP and Sidney Crosby made Canada proud and continue to do so. Nothing like the unity we all head rallying behind these guys in the 00s and 10s. Witnessing GSP come back and win in 2017 was inspiring. I wish we could press a reset button and he’s back to his youth fighting again. Great video!
I have passed on this video a couple of times, not another GSP (as huge fan i always wanted to watch a GSP video that deep dives with the highs and the very lows on how we witness it with more grunt and passion), We all know its hard to get George amped up he always kept that same low key and apologetic demeanor that at times people thought he was boring during interviews and what not…Now after watching this video i have to say its not a good nor a great video but a phenomenal video! storytelling was on point not to mention the video editing background music to match the the whole process wasn't easy as u have to navigate through films made from different years and definition, very well thought and execution. This was a beautiful heartwarming story.. thank you.

This is absolutely amazing. The time and effort put into it truly show dawg. Thank you for this video you’re a beast

What a genuinely likeable bloke GSP is.
Man I'm a new ufc fan and gotta say this channel is a gold mine... streaming your videos since a week and enjoying every minute.
The editing on this is amazing. So is the documentary, as a huge GSP fan this was a great 1 1/2 hours 👏
Another banger vid gsp and Mighty Mouse are the most underrated goats
Should I do Mighty as well? 👀
Yeah he’s the best technically
Flyweight is most skilled division and he dominated them had 11 consecutive only ended by a controversial decision and he dominated at ONE and in total has more title defenses than anyone ever as well as facing some of the best competition and striker with rodtang wrestled with cejudo he is in my opinion the goat
Actually after finishing gsp is better
Dude, it what world are they underrated? They are on at least 99% of every ones mma MT Rushmore lol and a good portion has the other two as Silva and Jones.
As a fellow french canadian, I will always be proud of my mate GSP.
He truly represent the politeness, humbleness but also the resilience that characterize our people
QUEBECOIS TABARNACK!
@@simonbrosseau1783 In English for the rest of the people here, I can relate when he speaks about how everyone told him he could never make it. I'm sure it's something that happens everywhere, but I feel like in Québec what we call "little peoeple" mantality (mentalité de petit peuple) is very strong. "You're just like one of us, you'll never do anything great, if you think you'll make it, you're just dreaming." We were just farmers for the elite. It's really sad, but at the same time, I think it makes his accomplishments even better, and it probably shaped his personality.
havent watched the whole thing but already know this vid gonna be a banger
Watch to the end to get a sneak peek of the next banger 🔥
Holy shit this is an INCREDIBLE video. Thank you so much for putting it together, GSP deserves every bit of that.
A very well put together documentary 👏
Bloody hell mate. First time here and what a gem of a video. Incredible work.
More gems to come! Welcome aboard!
(Good Take Downs, and Ground N Pounding, can beat Good Striking, and also beat Good Wrestling as well through submissions after the Take Down)
Whenever George was WALKING the octagon, he looked like the MMA Messiah.
George St. Pierre ~ "GOAT of the UFC" "The Most Skilled Fighter" "The best to ever do it"
SPOT ON!
GSP looks like God personally created him for the UFC lol. Has these really long Arms, Wide Torso. He looks like he was created in a UFC Lab with bioengineering. We will never see another GSP.
He is the Michael Jordan of MMA.
🔥
Oh wow I commented about the 2 Matta, I o my started watching ufc 2 years ago
And I'm stoll catching up with everyone but I love me some gsp ❤❤❤❤❤

Top shelf quality content and production. This is the best mma video on UA-cam. I clicked bc I admire GSP. I didn’t realize the length of the video until after an hour 20 minutes had passed. Time flew by me! Congrats to you and your team for creating a masterpiece. May this video find its way to GSP.
I wish I had a team haha. This comment means the world!
This was an incredible documentary. The clips and interviews and perspectives were perfect. I've watched pretty much everything on GSP but you had a couple clips on here that I've never seen. Well done 👏
Thank you for making this. GSP is an inspiration, regardless of the context. The amount of work in this video is incredible. Kudos to you and anyone on the team.
Just myself. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing job on the documentary. Especially the quotes by GSP at the end.
Great story thank you for sharing .
GSP + Ultimate Fighter and true Canadian 🇨🇦 . He successfully beat himself in order to reach his goal . GSP is a great inspiration for people who are suffering from depression. 🇨🇦

🤔
@@lionelrivera_MMA bro pls be honest. How many hours would you say it took to make this video
Another amazing video. Nice work Leo.
Thanks🫡
Another day another top quality video Good job. 🔥🔥🔥

Amazing video. Top quality work, great pacing, awesome insight. But I am begging you to please find a second impact sound to use, the same one slap gets old after a few minutes and two hours of it might actually be a method of torture lol
Georges is the best! Nice job on this.
Agreed, thanks
Couldn't have put it better myself
Yapping
Bro I was 5 minutes in and I’m man enough to admit it. I cried. Cause I thought I was the only one who felt like that. Love the video, keep up the great work
Totally, bro.
Why would i not sub to such a well made video. Awesome creator.
GSP is such a good guy, the worst thing he said to another fighter is "I'm not impressed by your performance"
While being the "GOAT" can be debatable i think that as a "fighter ambassador" of the sport, GSP is second to none. Great video as always 🔥 Would love to see you tell the story of Demetrious Johnson one day 🐭
Soon my friend!
You might anger some 🦅 fans
@@lionelrivera_MMA maybe but i do consider khabib as one of the greats, and i feel like if he had even fought longer and lost, i 100% know he would learn from his loss and beat his opponent like gsp, however due to his career being cut short because of his father's passing and his mom asking him to stop which i respect 100% we didn't get to see how much of legend khabib could've been even more than he is now.

When Khabib's Dad says that GSP is the Goat... Well... End of the story
@@kenw2225 What do you think about Jose Aldo being the goat?
The true GOAT will not be undefeated. He will have a few losses, he will have longevity, he will have evolution over his career, he will not ever be suspended for PEDs or have a DQ loss on his record. The only 3 fighters who can claim that are Khabib, Amanda snd George and Khabib did not fight long enough IMHO to be in the conversation. Khabib was the most dominant, but not the greatest
Incredible job putting together this video 👏🏻
I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for dogs, families, children, the elderly, and the bullied.

Loved this. I wish there was more videos of the fights. Thank you though 🙏🏽
🤝
Well basball is barry bonds, ruth, Ted Williams. Ohtani isn't there yet. But yea weight classes make things interesting as they never can face off
Lost me at 0:06
And then Nunes 😂
Dude you single handedly got me back into the MMA space. I used to train with a buddy and kinda fell out of the culture, but man these deep dives are so nostalgic. And they just opened a 10th planet gym in my town
Wow!! well done for your work on GSP this video was a treat and a beautiful tribute for George this guy is important for all the fighters of all kinds …GSP represents the soul of many Quebecers. God bless this guy
I've watched a boat load of documentaries on youtube and this is probably one of the best I've seen. Well done.
BEAUTIFUL VID THX
Thanks man. This type of content is a gold mine to news MMA fans like myself. I didn’t watch GSP fight but now I know who he is, thanks to you.
Lionel hats off to u bradah, you out did yourself and gave us a glimpse on what talent and skills u have on this one, congrats and can't wait to see ur next film.
