Hi Big Boss
can I change groups in kontakt via program change midi message??
Hey Ra'id, I've never tried that before, so I'd be interested to see if it works for you. Usually the group activations happen inside the on note callback, but there is an NI variable predefined for the PC changes ($MIDI_COMMAND_PROGRAM_CHANGE). Perhaps using an an if statement, when receiving the PC change, you could trigger an inactive note to play, which would then trigger the on note callback, which in turn could use if or select commands to read the PC number and respond accordingly. I'd have to try it out to know for sure, but that would be where I'd start looking into.
as always,a great video to learn from Stephen, there are lost of free powerful tools that you can find these days,i started to experiment with the free decent sampler from David Hilowitz, less powerful than kontakt, but its totally free, and you can also make your own instruments, less complex than kontakt but very usable, the updated 1.7 version has a lot more engine parameters, even wavefolding
