On one hand I’m not surprised he has this at home because it’s Alex Honnold of all people but on the other hand even for him that’s an insane setup to have in your garage.
it's pretty new. I watched an interview from a year ago. All he had back then was a hang board xD I guess he decided to stay at home more. He said that he would die a lil bit inside if he couldn't go on that many adventures anymore...so this seems like he bought himself a very expensive toy that keeps him entertained.
I thought I was getting a tour. Instead I got a headache. Did anyone watch this before publishing it? It looks like an amazing gym. But my god, the video work.
@@DeonexGlower you act like this is an audiobook. A video is equal parts auditory aswell as visual. Most would even consider the latter more important.
Seriously? This is is very outside of my world but nothing struck me as being at all exotic or expensive. That the wall moved so slowly and with that sorry looking interface actually seemed kinda pathetic.
I think the edit was actually visually cool, and the tracking kind of worked in the intro. The problem seems to be that the camera was low quality and there was very little mechanical stabilization, so when they don't artificially stabilize, it's has a really low-budget feeling.
Well, it's well within your reach. Go hit that truck stop and get yourself some knee pads will you? 20 bucks is 20 bucks. If there's a lot of trucks you can easily make an extra 200 every night with just two hours work 😂
Could have been an amazing video. But i literally couldn't eveb listen to what he was saying cause I was actually getting motion sickness from the stabilization. Looks like you tried to track it after filming in the editing software and did too much?
I just started making a home climbing gym in my garage. But all it is, is 2 by 4s screwed to the wall and ceiling joists. I would like to get hang boards and various things like that.
Does anyone know if this is the house he bought in free Solo?? I'm thinking it's not, and I wonder if he still has that little fridge he bought at home Depot
@@CarnifaxMachine Totally, I bet its money well spent for him. I wonder how many companies actually make money selling climbing walls and holds. A very small group of people can afford these luxury items, and only buy once.

Alex is goated for having a home Tension 2 Board

The north face logo is pretty visible lol, he is long been sponsored by them so I'm pretty sure they just gave him all the equipment
He's the most famous climber in the world. The space was probably purposely built for a climbing room.

Imagine getting interviewed and the person is just wobbling the camera in front of you because "it'll look sick in post".
Yall edit this on capcut?
Why is every single shot ultra stabilized so that alex's head is always in the center of the frame? It's kind of distracting.
It's interesting and different. Distracting from what?
@@DeonexGlowerdistracting from watching the game of soccer going on…. Like what do you mean, distracting from listening to alex talk lol…
@@Jacob0481 how can visual effect distract you from clear audio? It doesn't work for me personally

@@Jacob0481 I'm mentally insane. Nice to meet you.
I don't know what you did with the stabilization or whatever in this footage, but its obscene
For those of you that don’t know, this is a 200,000 dollar home gym. Proud of Alex. Really made it doing what he loves.
The dirtbag glowup.

Oh boy when you grow out your nappies the world gonna eat you up. @winningwithoutracing7811
Money could have been better spent elsewhere, gotta keep that Activism machine rolling.
Wow, fantastic! If I had this set up at home, I would never go outside, haha.
I like the shortness of this brilliant and insightful video. thanks

I would sell my soul to have this at home
Same

Go work in a factory for 60 hours a week. You will sell your soul for money, then pay for that.
the camera stabilization is horrible whoever edited should be fired
Or taught not to do that again ? Would you like to be fired from you job for odd mistakes?

I think you just need to free solo el cap
@brookskellymedia And make a movie about it
pretty big chunk of cash

I saw Jimmy Chin say in an interview that the little fridge broke almost immediately and Alex was mad 😂
alex: i can't go 1 5 9 on the campus but i did do this one thing that some people consider pretty hard
This is so dope, camera work and editing could be less busy though
$100k more or less is what a setup like this would cost
Probably more than that. The Lemur frame for his Kilter Board is $50k alone.
@@byronrobbins4096 you could get this setup with a more janky adjustable setup for probably 100k give or take 20 thousand
Plus the fact you need to have a mansion to have this kind space available

What kind of mount is that for the fingerboards
It’s custom one from lemur. It’s pretty over built…
Nice set up!
My boi rocking that extra bed head look.
Alex you need to get some chalk on those TB2 holds! They look way too fresh
Pacing and music bed volume feel off to me in this, not to mention the weird stabilization gimmick
I know a much cheaper and enjoyable way to build your forearm/grip strength. I do it every day, sometimes multiple times.
Ah yes, moving furniture and redecorating! A quality pasttime.
Hopefully you weren't "working out" to this video.
I didn’t know Alex had a home I thought he lived in a van
He lives in Vegas now
Wow!
I wanna see his workout, is there a full episode?
We all know his home gym is really Granite Arch
I thought Alex lived in a van in yosemite... And he does not own a home.
He acquired a house in Las Vegas a few years ago (it's in the movie Free Solo). He has two small kids now, couldn't really live in a van any more.
why is it edited like this - it hurts my head bro
He really did a finger pull-up. Bruh.

This being only 2 minutes is so sad to me
Needs more hand holds.
So many eco friendly materials in this training facility!🙄
I was pretty sure this dude was homeless but ok.
what terrible editing
The camera work and editing is so bad, its just 5 mins straight of moving shots and constant transitions
This editing is atrocious. Unwatchable.
