A big pro is the climate. Hot and humid in summer but winters are pretty mild.

Thanks for sharing these videos. My husband and I were searching in this area for our new home. We watched many of your videos and would've contacted you but our realtor selling our home in PA connected us with their VB office, which made the whole process of buying while selling much easier. But you gave us a birdseye view of the Hampton Roads area, and we felt we had a good understanding of the layout before we eventually settled in Deep Creek south. We're in the Creekwood community and absolutely love it. Thank you for all your insights. I'm betting my husband and I will run into you at one of the many restaurants you mentioned. It will be nice to say hello. Be well Sam!

I was raised in Chesapeake, Norfolk Highlands area. Can't wait to get out of this Texas hellhole and get back home.

Same. I grew up in western branch for 20 years. I’m now in the middle of nowhere in Ashland, Wisconsin where it takes 3-4 hours to get to a bigger city. I miss home

@@dontneednomanstoptelllingm8481 Unfortunately, yes. I've been trapped in a small hellhole Texas town since 1990.

@@aedanstorm I've been trapped in Texas since 1990 in a small town that's controlled by a handful of ranching families. There's no jobs, no opportunities, and no future. I want to either get back to Chesapeake or to Elizabeth City, NC and hopefully enroll in MACU.

New subscriber. I grew up in Greenbrier IRHS, bought our first house in Azalea Acres by ORF, and moved to Porter Ridge 2 years ago at 31 years old (wish I watched more of your videos before as we are the youngest people in our neighborhood now). Your videos are spot on with the 7 cities and the "look and feel" of Chesapeake in particular.

I think Hampton Roads is growing beautifully. All the city bring their on style and charm to the area. I grew up in Portsmouth and Chesapeake. And I live and raised my family in Chesapeake. I love being able to take 17 up to Maryland and NOVA/DC. And only 6 hours to New Jersey/NYC if you take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel. Love being able to hit 95 and travel to Florida for vacation with ease.

With South Norfolk, I like how you mentioned the crime. HOWEVER, that area is mostly decent, with just pockets of bad news/Abandon-Hope-Ye-Who-Enter spots (if you're looking to get a house, chat with someone who's lived there and they'll tell you where those are)...compared to areas like Portsmouth and Newport News, which I would not go through without having my car doors locked and windows up.

This city is the hidden gem of the Hampton Roads area. Not too expensive like VB and not too sketchy like Portsmouth and Norfolk. Suffolk is just way out there.

Western Branch is Chesapeake but culturally identifies with Portsmouth.
Back in the 1980s Portsmouth had a mall called Tower Mall in which Western Branch residents would shop at because it's only a 10 minute drive. Chesapeake Square Mall had its grand opening in 1990. Tower Mall loss many of its shoppers during that time. Tower Mall was torn down around 1998. Portsmouth residents use Chesapeake Square Mall while Western Branch residents love the Downtown Portsmouth Waterfront area. Half of the residents who live in Western Branch are Portsmouth natives. We tend to carry ourselves very down to earth/transparent and very friendly to anyone. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Its like comparing Brooklyn and Manhattan. 😆Transparency wise everything on the Norfolk/VA Beach side if the Elizabeth River side is Manhattan. 😆On this side of the Elizabeth River is Brooklyn. 😆Newport News is the Bronx ( down to earth and friendly as well ). lol
