      You have wonderful breeds when you have the jos van lampt de klack breed and a famous bird 613. The dream of everyone who raises pigeons is to own one of his breed.

    Nice results. Sucks when they don't scan in. Glad you got em both back. The 1st race is always fun to see how they adapt to something new.

      Yes Sir, Next race will also be a 100 miler and I will race the 17 birds that had to set out of this race (20 bird limit) your other bird will get to race then (pretty splash bird).

    Race is not over until they are in the clock. Must use droppers in training and races. I even use them when loft flying. You can get them to drop without circling and land on pad. When you do this you will win a lot more races. Look at your past results and check how many seconds/minutes to win. I am sure you would be amongst the leaders. In Springhill FL. Sometime the first 4 birds will be 0 seconds to win and a lot of races we get a bird per second. We train them to land on pad with out circling. You can do it and it does pay off. Good luck in races

      Thanks friend, I have some droppers but didn't train them and then I sold some them, I thought last year my birds trapped very well and I didn't need dropper so hoped this year would be the same....I was wrong.

      Yes Sir, Still 12/20 I really thought I would had 3 or 4 more home early this morning but the day isn't over yet, hopefully I'll get some more home later today.

    Congrats! They did alright for the first race. And yup, you made a mistake getting rid of the droppers.. That's what they're for, so why not use them to your advantage.. Also, why is your antennae pad not on the outside on the landing board directly in front of the trap? That set up you have isn't catching the chip rings when they enter the loft. That costs a lot of time when that happens as you can see. Is the pad underneath the wood shelf inside the loft or something? How can it scan with a piece of wood over top of it? 🤔

    • @cavenderloft
      @cavenderloft  13 днів тому

      By our Combine or Club rules the antenna must be inside the loft. I didn't have a problem during Old bird races I don't know why it's a issue now.

      @@cavenderloft .. That's ridiculous. Them codgers need to get with the times.. It's not 2008 anymore.. LOL Everybody has it on the outside nowadays.. Maybe you need to get rid of that wooden shelving or put the pad on top of the wood so it will scan better..

      We still have one guy who uses the old fashion clock where you have to catch the bird pull off the rubber band thing in put it in the clock.. Lol

      @@cavenderloft .. Are you kidding me? When I was flying with the crank up clocks if you didn't switch when the time came, you couldn't fly in the club or combine.. Those countermarking races were fun. You had to be there when the birds came in. Not like nowadays where you can be at the lake picnicking while your birds are clocking in.. It's made the sport lazy in my opinion.. LOL

      @@cavenderloftFrankly, I mean the origins of pigeons, sir. In my country, we only know European breeds. I was surprised when I learned that even in America, bird races are held. I think it is a very wonderful thing, especially with the presence of green nature everywhere.
