    Video Description:
Come with me to visit Antelope Street and Ghost Town in Belize City for unseen areas never filmed nor seen by the outside world.
The sad reality of gangs and gun violence is evident in today’s video. I wish I could offer some sort of solution to the problem, but I cannot.
Hopefully my documentation of these neighbourhoods and the residents stories will shed light on the bigger problem of Gangs not only in Belize City, but around the world.

Very well concluded at the end. Can really tell Chris is the most genuinely compassionate guy doing Travel vlogs if not on the whole toobz. Sharing on UA-cam this type of content in this day an age is truly a needed service as a large chunk of us are losing hope in humanity wether they realise or not. Thanks Chris, much love from London UK

The love of a mother! As a Belizean, it hurts to see these situations as a people... This is not the Belize I grew up in, it’s really like a movie, but know it real... I do not think poverty is the issue, it’s a mindset... We we’re poor, but still love and took care of our neighbors as a community... I go back to what the guy in the Mennonite community says...it’s a mindset, change comes when we change our mind.... 💕🙏🏼

Chris, it's really sad to see the reality on the ground. I'm glad for people like you to take us into these troubled neighborhoods and hear their stories and personal opinions on the solution or try to to help the situation. I'm from the capital I was glad that I was part of the many youths that kept the peace in a charging world especially after certain gang movies shown on tv and overseas influences people try to portray but when it started then the cycle seems never ending. I was always laid back being now and elder but definitely I'll try my best working with government to try to change the cycle. Thanks for taking us on your trips to let us outsiders understand more of the struggles people branded into certain hoods because they live their and are not free to work or travel to make their lives a little better. But Belize is full of love, we just need to bring back that love and change this cycle a day at a time.

Let me tell you'll something about my birth place, Belize, I was born in 69 in Belize, it used to be a very peaceful place, we didn't have much but we all used to look out for each other, we were able to hunt for our food everyone had 3 to 4 fruit trees in there yard or on the streets, but things changed around late 80s,90s and early 2000s, everyone started to move to the U S, and the guys get out here and get in gangs and selling drugs. So when ever they get caught they would stay in jail for about a year and then they deport them back to Belize, and when they get back they come with the same mentality and the more they send back the worst it got, and with the drugs think, the cartel would use Belize water and when ever they are about to be caught they would dumb the drugs and it would be in the waters, so it's like just say you go fishing some of them would find the drugs something you don't have to go fishing to find them .. and that was the end of peaceful Belize, Belize is still a lovely place, but you just have to stay away from the city, the government has always been messed up but not ass bad as it is now, no jobs and when you do have a job you get paid Penny's, you can't even hunt like you used to anymore because of restrictions. But you better Belize I still love my country.

This video got me thinking lots bout my country Belize and the people.
The city is small to be like this.
The residents too can be responsible for their neighborhood clean up. No need to wait on Government for that.
As for the violence and paralyzed young men, they need professional help & therapy, why not build a location for rehab after gun shot. GOB must have money for that 7million for NHI right.

It's heart rendering...so humble and lovely are these people, what a tragedy about him getting shot and so many others. The compassion you have, Chris, for trying to understand how this kind of tragedy happens and allowing their voices to be heard is really commendable. Helging create cottage industries for them, a collective of various industries that they themselves want to do, I think would remedy these problems alot. Much respect to all in this community and all of Belize, and Big Ups to you, Chris, for doing this kind of investigative journalism with so much compassion and heart...Much love from the Redwoods of Northcoast Cali...Awoooooooo, Chaaaaa, Ase' and Namaste to all!!!

It would be awesome if all of the (gang) leaders would come together and have a meeting (sans arms). No negative comments would be allowed. Brainstorm together and discuss positive ways to make their communities a better place to live and thrive. I think they would find they have way more similarities than differences and the (gang) members would be more apt to listen to their leaders than some government entity telling what they can/can't/should/shouldn't do.

I am from Belize. I grew up in this neighborhood and I know most of the guys in the video personally. This problem started in the mid 80s when belizeans that came to the United States and adopted African American gang culture were deported and brought the culture to our country. Before then I can remember how peaceful Belize was and how rare it was for a murder to happen. The young men quickly adopted the gang culture and the genocide began. The end is not even in sight. The African Americans have spread this plague all over the world. But each man has his own choice to make and if we want peace, all we have to do is decide as individuals that we will love our neighbors as we love ourselves. The problem is that this plague is driven by self hate

They speak about jobs and needing food, but one thing I didn't see was gardens. Teach the young kids how to grow food. Learn how to compost, learn how to grow your own food. Seem to be plenty of sunshine plant fruit trees everywhere. Where the basketball court was is plenty of land for a community garden which will help bring the community together. Raise chickens. Don't wait for someone to come save you. You have to save yourself.

Lots of people commenting how sad this is, and the violence is sad, but it’s also enlightening to see there are normal, friendly people everywhere. Just a family trying to get by and living the tough life. I love places like this. Completely different experience obviously but i went to college in Beijing China and for all the glorious forbidden city and tiananmen stuff, the experiences that stuck with me the most were the frankly sh*tty alleyways and neighborhoods, eating in rundown noodle houses and watching people with no teeth gamble in the back. Chris Belize was once a lovely flourishing land so peaceful you could walk any street at any hour safely Belize people need the doors to other countries to open to them. Like Canada and England Like it was once ago . No one can live in a small stagnating spot where there is no room to grow Belize people are very smart and just need a chance. They need wings to fly They need the opportunity to travel to educate and work abroad.

Every country you go, there are ghettos, people live what we perceive as horrendous lives,,, I’m from Belize in Illinois, everyday in the city of Chicago, where there are jobs, people in much better economic situations, yet this kind of violence and criminality happens everyday!young people on college campuses, every perceivable places and opportunities, this stuff is going on... What is the answer? Man hearts is wicked and deceitful, we have turn to our own way, as the young man said, he turn back to God! He’s our only hope and help, there’s a wicked and rebellious enemy out there we can’t see... God help us all ... 💕🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

It's easy to judge this mother for the demise of her family- Don't judge rather let's make a difference if YOU can. Perhaps not in Belize but in your own country/city/neighborhood/community. GOD HAVE MERCY ON THESE PEOPLE.

I always thought Belize was Latin America. Had no idea it was very Carribbean. That boy in the wheelchair was amazing as were all the voices on here. Totally changed my expectations of the country. All lovely people. Literally.

It's not Caribbean it's Central American, cos they speak English that makes it Anglo American, Latin America is just Spanish French and Portuguese speaking countries, there are Latin islands in the Caribbean, Cuba which is right by Jamaica, Puerto rico and Hispaniola which is Haiti and Dominican Republic

Start your journey my friend. If their was a simple solution then the problem would already be solved. In order to see change the people within these communities must change.

I was born in Belize and my mom and dad born and raised in Belize their whole life until they took me and my 2 brothers to America illegally. At the age of 3 along with my family we had to illegally cross mexico and then into America that was about 1994.. since then we have all gained our green cards and citizenship in America. Im the last to get my green card about a week ago due to be going to prison. Ill be returning to Belize for the first time since leaving at 3 in march. I cant wait..im so glad my parents risked everything to get us out of that country

Chris, the ONLY answer is found in Jesus Christ! He is the Prince of Peace and the only ONE Who can deliver peace. But my people have turned away from Him. They need to return to Him.

I just ran across this article left in 68 and so depressing to see my country like this government is so corrupt and don't care just about themselves that's why I support charity every month in Belize stop the corruption and put the politicians in the hood and see how fast it will change
