THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. REALLY EXCITED ABOUT PURCHASING THIS BABY. No one really addressed shooting video with it but you've done it so succinctly
I look forward to seeing you hit the 10k+ benchmark to match the quality of videos you offer. I don’t even have a camera (yet) but glad to have come across you by chance for when I do! 🙌🏾
Great video, great advice! Fully agree!! :) People use to forget that there were good movies before there was 4K...;) Or even live monitoring of what you‘re filming 😅 It‘s all about knowing your limitations and working with/around them!

Hi John, I like the way you put this tutorial together, I have often seen how the individual button mapping could be done before, but never how you use them together to adjust items for video use. I’ve had my Xt30 for about 6 months have been using it for photos exclusively. I am trying to learn the video side of the camera now. I am having trouble with starting the video record process with the shutter button on the camera. Do you know of any menu settings that would prevent the shutter button from starting to record process? I can use the remote camera app to start recording there but not on the camera itself. Upgraded to the latest firmware as well. Any ideas? I think it must be something simple.
Hi, great video! Thanks for sharing your thoughts which helps my decision much more easier. Could your share me which lens was you using for this video, the bokeh was just amazing!
Hi there. Thanks for your help! I've set my screen up in a similar way. The one issue I'm having is that when I touch the screen (swipe to adjust settings) it starts recording. How do I remove this?
hey great video, so it seems like you can use the roll dial for the shutter speed, but I can't figure out how to use them for my xt30 (I tried for many hours to figure out how to do it, and I thought it was impossible untill I saw you using it, for me it works for photo)
Great video, congratulations on your 1k subscribers and thank you for the advices !! I decided thanks to you. I also wanted to know if you use the same lens for the payasage? Thx in advance
I shoot everything handheld because it's my stylistic preference, because of that choice, I do like to have IBIS to reduce micro-jitters. However, if you like to use gimbals stylistically then IBIS is a less important factor I think.
I would recommend whichever suits your needs haha! Honestly right now in the market if you're comfortable buying used especially then here's my short thought: photo-oriented then buy XT3, photo-oriented but need ibis or if you're video-oriented then buy XT4. Those are my picks for affordable fuji options!
Hey guys. I recently got my first Fuji cam and I’m really enjoying the film recipes. It’s an XT-30 II. But for some reason, I can’t see the option to create custom settings when I switch to movie mode. I want to use film recipes in video mode as well. Couldn’t find any answers online about it. Please help.
Hey Zaid! You can definitely still customize your settings for colors/sharpness/etc for video settings with film recipes in video mode as well! It should just be inside your menu under the same image section as it is in stills mode?
Hi, would you mind sharing the chrome settings? Also isn't 100DR too contrasty? I have been using the BMPCC4k, but ill like to get good results with this because it is very portable and some times I go to places in which bringing the pocket is complicated.
I am not able to use external flash on my xt200 in spite of on the mechanical shutter. In built flash fires when raised. Can you please give me a solution.
Hey John! Thank you so much for the video! Was wondering which lut pack of yours would you recommend if I'm shooting on the Xt30. Should i get the Flog big sur series or the Fuji lut big sur series?
I have 1 question. Could you briefly show me how to set manual len to shoot video with XT-30? I have a Meike fixed 35. M, C or S and Manual mode on XT-30?
Hi! So I bought this camera recently and I only used it for photos but I would like to start shooting some videos. The problem is that no matter which SD card I choose to use, the amount of minutes available for recording a video does not change much. Am I doing something wrong? Would you be able to suggest me a good SD card that will allow me to record 40/50 minutes in total? thanks!!!
When you said there are very short record times and 10 min max, what specifically does that mean????? And do you need a mic to record audio or does the audio just not play on the camera but plays on a laptop... (I’m kinda a beginner, I’ve had 2 basic canons before so I’m sorry if those are dumb questions 😅😂) I really want to get the Xt4 at some point, but this one is more in my budget right now😁

Hi i have xt30 but i cant seems to figure out how to set the 120 fps for this camera, can you tell me where in the setting i can change the fps to 120?
Hello John, hope you are good. I have a question. On setup you put FHD HS option on screen then you can select fast. But on x-t4 when i put this option i don't have the choice to scroll directly. At first,i should choose yes or no, then i can change. But i should go on menu. It is normal ?
Does anyone happen to know if the X-T30 would be good for not only photography, but also for recording driving as well? I am talking about mounting the camera to face out the windshield. And that handles low-light environments really well? I want to assume any professional digital camera would.. but not exactly sure if there are things like auto-focus would come into play or other things involving the motion from driving. Neither dash cams nor action cams are good enough for me, i have been down those avenues for a while now.
@@johnstamw Thanks for the info. I will consider the A6400 then, or possibly the a7II. I saw a comparison between both sony cameras to the X-T30 and the low-light difference (night time) looked so close. I mean, it's still going to be a heck of a lot better than any GoPro, right?
@@johnstamw Looks like Sony ZV1 can be a nice substitute as well. The recording limits on the X-T30 really are a bummer. I certainly don't wish to spend $500 on a recorder to bypass it. Haha Thanks again for your help :)
