You will never sound professional if you're just going to copy someone's UA-cam video and use a fucking computer to make music. If you really want to sound professional, go invest thousands of dollars on real studio musicians and producers.
I also discovered Alice recently and her tips are valuable. As someone that's spent most of my life working with traditional genres and new to edm, I've found her videos to among the most helpul out there. Also, her music stands apart from many other artists in terms of depth and creativity, up there with the very best and in some cases better. When creating playlists I typically pick one song for every 30 I listen to. My first listen to Alice on Spotify I added 5 songs. A very gifted artist imho.
Wrong. Your music will never sound professional if you are heavily relying on computer software as instruments. Copying Alice's ability to change the pitch of the second hihat in Ableton (something which nobody did in the 90s) doesnt make your tracks "somewhat" professional.
This pentagon is next level thinking when it comes to shaping not just percussion but any sounds really that needs movement - thanks for the tips Yalcin it's improving my production a lot.
Wow! This is the first video I've ever come across that doesn't try to blast the music sample super loud and super long. There's nothing worse than watching these videos at night trying to learn then all of a sudden the whole house is blasted with bass at full volume waking everyone up... I'm always like: "you claim to be a sound expert but can't even get your video to have regular volume levels."
I will print the pentagon out and add some information for myself how to adjust these parameters with my mpc one - thank you a lot for your very good inspiration and your very helpful content ❤
Found your channel today, amazing helpful advice. Getting a good hi hats/top perc line has always been a bit of a mystery for me, but your video has really opened my eyes as to why my hi hats have been bit flat. Thank-you Alice. Subbed!
/// 45 seconds since upload? FIRST. Merry Xmas, Alice - Thank you for SO MANY amazing tips and tricks. You're a fucking diamond. Here's to another year of production madness.
Very cool. Always nice to see how to make sounds. I've been using multisample drum libraries for my metal work. They give the timbral variation and the midi parts have the other variation due to being played by humans. Being able to use the bundled midi also exposed me to lots of rhythm styles I would not have encountered otherwise.
Super helpful, thank you!!! 🙏 Subscribed! I have one question, if you see this -- what is the LFO that you used at 1:48 to modulate the different parameters? I searched "LFO" in Ableton and it didn't pop up for me 😢
Amazing!!! I'm missing a lot of these tools in Studio One Artist. I need some advice: I'd like to make happy, bubbly kids songs, similar to Cocomelon. What instrument pack would you recommend?
Hey Alice!! I have your courses on mercurial, and I was looking through them to find your lesson on layering 2 different kicks making a nice thick body, and you said that drum kick looked a bit more like "sausage" 😂 it's true! I was having trouble with the kick I selected for one of my projects and I was looking for that lesson to help me make a fatter, denser kick. Is it in your course videos or your UA-cam videos? I've been looking everywhere for it! Any help is always appreciated and thank you regardless!✌️💯
It is probably in my peak time techno course and also in my how to techno video from previous years. That being said, I am still big supporter of “pick the right kick from the start” and “keep the extra processing minimal” So I would suggest just changing the kick and finding better sample
@@Alice-Efe Thank you!!! That's kind of what I was thinking you'd say and it seems to be so true. At the same time, it's always fun to have more technical knowledge of Ableton and how to pump things up if I need to😁
i honestly love all your videos, i end all my searches with "alice yalcin efe" just because i love the way you explain things and you are so much fun to watch. plus i love your accent. THANK YOU Alice!
Great hihat tutorial, thanks! Would love to hear your approach to mixing & mastering! Having trouble getting a kick with the same loudness/punchiness as Tinlicker while also aiming for -6 LUFS without clipping.
this channel is the biggest reason my music sounds somewhat professional. Thank you so much alice
I only just discovered it and I have learned so much. It makes the goal of sounding like a professional producer seem so achievable.

I have finally realised how important giving some groove is! Thanks Alice
I feel like I been lazy with my production and that a little effort on each sound can make a huge difference.
Although I don't use Ableton, I managed to distil these tips for use in my DAW.
Thank you for a Xmas load of hints and tips!
Great to hear, happy Xmas and new year!
this shaker video has Alice;s eyes blinking non stop!
😉
Most helpful video for me, because i know hats have so much energy to give to the mix, and i dont know how to control em.
Thnx Alice
You've been helping me a lot lately, my mixes got a whole lot better since I started watching your vids, thanks

Which version of Ableton do you have?
@@junk06 Ableton 10 standard. I'm guessing the LFO tool isn't available in my version? 🙃
@@jcksklngtn1 No actually it should be available in Live 10 standard. Weird...
@Smjunk That's so weird... I feel like my ableton is missing some features. Not sure how to resolve the issue.
@@jcksklngtn1 could try to re download it. Just make sure to safely store the files you don't want to lose

Brilliant as always
