when I managed the Radical SR8 series we tracked races in the Discord and Patrik Holzmann did a 6:17 here in SR8. It was mind boggling
for the life of me i cant get any faster than 6.27.8 and feel like i'm on the ragged edge . how you guys look so calm and relaxed is beyond me , plus talking as your doing it , hats off to you all

Awaiting my replacement shifter as the first one I received lasted less than two weeks before the sequential mode failed. While I was able to use the shifter, it truly is a game changer.
I've been watching your videos [liked and subscribed ;)] for about 6 months now, never sim raced in my life. Yesterday I started my Iracing career in the rookies, I went into town and bought a logitech wheel and pedals, I've had an absolute ball with it. Kids have grown up I'm closer to 60 than 50 so I figured why not, I have to say Dave you make it look a lot easier than it is, but really enjoying myself. Cheers mate.

Oh my god, this car/track combo is incredible. Never raced the car before but it's just so much fun, quite easy to drive but also very lively when pushing it, the perfect balance.
Had two of my most fun and best races on iRacing with it. What a combo!

I managed a 6:27 in practice. Then I decided to be Dave Cam and use my sequential shifter. Haven't been below 6:30 since, so thanks a lot, Dave. Just kidding, this car with a sequential stick is a blast, even if it costs me some seconds. I just have to remember that I don't pull on it when I have to push and don't push on it when I have to pull. It's all in the details, I guess.
I love sequential shifting and H shifting a lot more than paddle shifting. Much more fun to me! Sadly my AliExpress Seq Special stopped working properly... so I've been driving MX-5s and improving my manual gearbox racing :)
Sounds way better than new one and revs so much higher that I always redlined the new one when they switched from SR8 to SR10. They say new one is better now than when they introduced it but I haven't gotten around to test it.
Ooh it is getting even more tempting to get one of those shifters after seeing this video. It looks to shift so much smoother than the Simagic one.
I love driving with a H pattern shifter in the FF1600 or with a sequential in the Mazda MX5

@@davecamm d** you ;) I just ordered it after seeing that FF1600 video with it. Watching your channel is expensive :). Seeing it in your video's and especially the way it is mounted to the Sim-Lab rig which is the same as I have over here has won me over.
It will take another 2 to 4 weeks before it is here but I am definitely looking forward to this upgrade.
Now all I need to upgrade is my own driving skills as those currently don't really justify the rig that I have.

Just mounted it on my rig Yesterday.
I must admit that I wasn't that impressed with the sequential mode as the Simagic shifter is doing a great job in that.
But then I switched to H pattern for some racing in the FF1600. And this thing is amazing!
It feels so much more like a realistic gearbox and while I was mis-shifting with the Simagic h-pattern mode (quite often went into first gear when I was upshifting from 2nd to 3rd) with this BDH shifter that simply does not happen.
@@JJCAMulders for seq, I tighten the adjuster put it in up or down until it doesn't move. I then release the adjuster until it springs back to centre then tighten a quarter of a turn. Feels great for me 👍

I've been experimenting a little with bitrate and export settings. You're the first to notice which is one too many. 😁

You see so many people crashing, Chasing the delta... Taking risks and pushing a little harder.....
But they forget.. Just driving smooth and keeping it consistent... is all it takes....
Sometimes it's just too much fun to take that risk, making it worth it even when it doesn't last. Not always though. It's good to be aware, to consciously make that choice.

Nice shifter. I wonder about push for downshift and pull for upshift, versus their opposites. I know both patterns exist, Is this pattern common in modern cars?

How do you get carnage CAM? Do you piece all of them together or is there a feature in Iracing that does it for you?
By default it's Ctrl numpad 1 & 3 to cycle but I skip some in the edit.

how are you getting it to downshift so well without a blip? or is it just not showing in the telemerty
I have auto blip on with this car. Its a complete nightmare without.
I tried like hell to blip myself and could do 'OK' but then watched the replay and you can tell by the sound everyone was running auto so I begrudgingly did the same lol
I'm trying the other Radical at Nordschleife this week and it's at night. At night, the edges of my superwide monitor are very blurry when driving at night. Is that normal or do I have a setting wrong? I noticed it with other cars on other tracks, it's almost undrivable. Any help is appreciated!
You may have motion blur on?
@@davecamm Thanks for the reply. I just checked, motion blur is Off. I'm wondering if it's normal and what I'm seeing on streams from people using Triples isn't showing the faded/blurred edges that they have when they're actually driving.
I searched for night racing vids/streams, but it's tough to tell if they're using triples or a single.
I have the same BDH shifter at home, though I am, at this moment, dissapointed.
The shifter was scratched out of the Box, the rings, which hold the shifters Body were seized up and wouldn't move and now the shifter broke 2 days ago after 2 weekends of use...
I am not a hater, I want this shifter to be good otherwise I wouldn't have spent the miney on it. I hope BDH will help me get the issues sorted, but since I live in Germany I'm not too sure.
Did you loosen the 3 under the large plate when you took out the Allen screws for the rings?
@@davecamm yeah, we unscrewed the whole base because we wanted to see if both rings were seized or just one. Turned out it was just the one on the rear side of the shifter.
We added some lubricant and got it to turn slowly with really gentle rubber hammer taps. Gentle because we didn't want to damage anything.
Hello there! Well, I got my first BDH-shifter in apri and it was scratched. Did not even try it out if that one works and sent it immediately back. Got another one a few days ago, plugged it into my PC and it won't work. Wrote some emails with Ben from BDH and now I sent it from Germany to England (€ 57,99 because of Brexit 🤪) and Ben promised me to solve the problem. All in all a bit disappointing. So let's hope that one day all will be fine...
From what I read, I do think they genuinely care and will solve any issues... but the additional costs and wait if things do go wrong is why I've been holding off. When the issues are resolved I would love to get one as well.
BDH will sort ANY issues out, one way or another. It's not fair to assume just because you're in Germany they won't help!
Their customer service is 100% num er 1 priority, they want their customers to have the quality they pay for and will do anything they can to help.

Downshifts fine on paddles with autoblip turned on, and sounds just like in the video. Nit sure if the stick sequential has some functionality or he just has that turned in as well.

$2400 AUD for a sequential shifter! You have got to be kidding me. That takes the cake as the most over-priced piece of kit for sim-racing I've seen so far.

No, this one is actually not overpriced. You can do a lot worse if we're talking overpriced simracing gear.
