Hopefully it is not irony, haha! But important thing to mention is that without that collar tool, it might be very, very hard time. This is not the end though - I will have part 2 soon :)
Thank you for this video! At 1:25 how can you unscrew using a 12 female tool instead of HEX tool? I think that outer part of 12 tool gets stuck inside. But to unscrew in this way I think that this is not screw tight. Is it correct?
Thanks! It is a hell of a job to deal with that. It requires to have allen key with a hole inside. As at that time I did not had such, I looked around what I can use alternatively. With that being said, I also used glove to tighten it, but it was still questionable. This one is required: 398-00-838 Well, alternatively you could drill a hole inside the hex to have proper offset to go in, but considering strengthness of alloy itself, it won't be an easy job. I already bought proper tools for the job and serviced it fully, will have a video at some point in the future!
@@giuseppeserafini9142 I don't remember now for certain! But also be aware that edges on original tool are bit rounded, thus it is maybe even better to take slightly bigger allen and remove the extras :)
@@tom10crafted the main stem deteriorates very quickly, it seems that this is a known problem with the SL. it's stop moving for me after 11 month the first one, and 9 month the 2nd one. I was able to have the guarantee that only once
I can't imagine how it can be THAT costly...After breaking it down into pieces it seems that only main rod is problematic in 2022 version (the part which is inside the mechanism)
Another great video. 👌
🫶🏼
Super helpful video! Thanks a lot!!

@ yes I thinked to try to do that. So do you know which Allen key number it is necessary? Thanks

@@tom10crafted bad news 😂. Thank you for your help!
@@giuseppeserafini9142 That is exactly why I decided not to try making it somehow on my own - but thats just me, ha!
you keep a Fox Transfer SL working more than 1 years... I broke 2 in 2 years... I stopped using them... 300 euros for each service...
How come service came so expensive? Maybe there were something else included - like replacement of major parts?
