So true, smart phones and social media is what ruined society. It's great to see the former world without those things. Those simple times from back then are truly gone now.
I graduated back in 1992 and this was exactly how my high school experience was oh and not a cell phone in sight a much better time before the internet came along.
I graduated HS in 1991, and by 1995 I was substitute teaching. It was amazing how much different the kids/styles looked in just four years. The drone of kids chit-chatting in the hallway doesn't sound like that anymore. The average student has had countless conversations/interactions through their devices by the time they get to school. When they do talk to each other, it's mostly about what they're doing/going to do online. It's an amazing shift to witness.
Wow....i Never thought of this....i take you are a teacher still and seeing this must be surreal bcus it is just thinking about it. Ty for your insite on this
i graduated high school in 1995. Best decade to be a teen. I maintain there's a difference in the looks/styles/interests of teens who graduated in 1990-1992, those that graduated in 1993-1996, and those that graduated 1997 to 1999 (you can't just lump us all in as "90's Kids). From Vanilla Ice to Grunge music to Back Street Boys/Britney Spears. Fox Kids in the early 90's/Kids WB in the late 90's. Cassette tapes vs. CDs.
This was 3 years before I was born. And this looks like a much better time. A much better world. It’s funny how you can yearn for a time in which you didn’t even exist.
Wow simple times, I was 13 in 8th grade at the time. Such memories for us 80’s kids right? Time flys by so fast first we are young, then get older in a blink if an eye. Just the best of times for me. So simple and so happy❤😊
It was better because people who were severe introverts like me were forced to learn social skills by interacting with people. Today I can go weeks or even months without talking face to face to anyone but my mom, which is great but my social skills are pretty much dead now lol.
The best days of our lives! No internet in our faces, no cell phones, so simple!! People actually talked to one another, called, and visited. I was in grade school during this year. Blast from the past for sure! Such a nice throwback. Thank you!! I needed some wholesome nostalgia ❤ The internet started entering our lives when I think I was in the 9th grade, but we hardly ever touched it. Then they started with the computer labs the next year and there was teenmatchmaker.. the beginning of the downfall! Lol
1995 might as well be a different country. My half-sister was six, and I was just born. I don’t regret growing up in the era I did though. Video games reached heights never dreamed of, cartoons were the best they’d ever been, and up until 2001 there was a real sense of optimism. Amazing how the clothing style didn’t change much when I hit high school XD If you’d told me this was 2010-2012 I’d believe you. Pacific Northwest style was basically this for 20-30 years.
Thanks for sharing and uploading all these great videos from the past. Such a good relief. I can say it many times. No zombies! Anything without smart phones and social media was a better life. It's so great to see the former world without those things. I was in the third grade back in 1995. I'll do anything to go back in time and relive those great moments again. I miss those days. But those simple times are truly gone now.
I was still all grunged out back then with flannel, shredded jeans, chains, purple hair, rainbow nails, shoes I drew all over, n various face piercings. 80’s 90’s music life🥳
Such a difference from the 80s that it’s extremely noticeable especially as it relates to the colors. You can really see it when the camera is in the doorway and students are walking by all the tones are so muted compared to the 80s. It was like we just wanted to blend in lol
Love How People Occasionally acknowledge the Cameraman and Wave at him while some are just wanting him to leave while some of them don’t even acknowledge him at all.
@maxincountrywerks I was in the third grade back in 1995. The good memories. These simple times are truly gone now. Here are 30 years later where today's technology took everybody in.
This was the year I graduated! I didn’t have to worry about getting posted online, there was no pressure from social media, just people talking face to face.
I never used my locker once in high school. I don't even remember if I knew where it was or if I was even assigned one. Just carried everything in my backpack. Like 40 lbs worth of books and stuff.
Simpler times. Some would say better times. When I think back to pre cell phone time period not every thing was great but I’ll tell you what was. People talked to each other and there was great human to human interaction. I miss that part of it.
Interesting! I’m 24 and writing a book about a group of kids preparing for Y2K. Even though I never experienced the 90s these videos give me some good insight into what they were like 😊
@robroy6374 I'm just going from my personal perspective and experience. Everything seems like it changed right after 9/11 happened. But yeah there was a few decent years in the early 2000s.
UA-cam's video compression destroyed the image - it's filled with blocky, smudgy compression artifacts. Upscaling NTSC video before you upload it won't improve the original video's general quality, but it trigger's a much, much better bitrate from UA-cam compression algorithms, so you can preserve what little detail was captured.
Most of the students shown in this video are well into their 40s by now. Let that sink in. At 2:33, is that male student wearing an Alabama Crimson Tide cap? It sure looks like the "A" logo.
How does no one question the one holding the camera? How do you have all of these? It wasn’t as intuitive to record things this way before in my opinion. At least, not with people pretending not to see the huge camera. Interesting to think where the original sources are from. This content is incredible, but no one seems to question it…

Yes. Things in general have been shit for the past 10-15 years.
I graduated in 95. This really takes me back.
No internet, facebook, instagram, or AI. Just people. Hard to describe in a few words what it all meant. But I think I preferred it back then.
Same. Simpler times.
There was internet back then. It was WAY better before the masses started using it.
You forgot to mention everyone has their head up. Today everyone walks with their head down.
@@GoodBeat101 Yep. Internet was more entertaining back then, yet somehow didn't consume people's whole lives either.
The year I graduated. I'm almost 50 now. I would love to be 18 again

Wonder how many of them were playing donkey kong country later
I'd say at least 0.25% of the boys that day and probably 15% owned the game itself.
