That's a good idea for Scooby Doo games, honestly. A point and click adventure game to solve the mysteries and catch the monsters? Helping build elaborate traps? Collecting knick knacks that can help along the way? Perhaps a common collectable in Scooby Snacks? Chase scenes that could take on a more platform-esque design or using your tools or disguises to get away? Narrowing suspects down and determining who's really behind it? Come on, if Telltale didnt go under, I'd've wanted a Scooby Doo game from them!!
I really like the way you lay out the arguments for each console, and are the first to say how bad a game is even if it's your preferred system i.e. Worst version. As an original Nintendo fan, I have also come to prefer the Genesis for certain games over the SNES. Keep up the great videos :)
It looked so good it looked like Lucas Arts could have made it in between the Monkey Island franchise...and I am heavily disappointed in Argonaut, those guys made the standard control scheme for ever FPS made in the past 21 friggin years and they made such a piss poor Scooby Doo game...For shame, guys!
The biggest thing against it is the save system. With all the variables in terms of where you are and what items you're holding, trying to do it with a password system is nuts. The game should have come with a battery back-up.
Man, I really enjoy you guys' videos, I don't completely understand why, possibly the stupid humor mixed with great reviews for these video games, or the awkwardness of it all, but you guys make pretty good review videos, I'm glad I stumbled upon this" channel, also, I'd love to see you guys do a console wars on "secret of mana" vs "Beyond Oasis."

+Console Wars Hello guys! That was one of the best game review I've ever seen, dude keep working on it! I'd like you to make review about umk3 game, I think that would be epic. This is consoles waaaaaaaaar!
I don't like seeing SNES lose, but I had to agree with every point made. Some suggestions: Gemfire Donald in Maui Mallard Demolition Man Judge Dredd True Lies
+Ryuma King I hate to say, but I don't think they will do one on Maui Mallard since the Genesis version was only released in Europe. The game's american release was only a Sega Channel exclusive.
@wiztic. No, the genesis graphics are sharp and higher definition than the SNES. This channel has been struggling with its Genesis video capture for a long time. Also if they've been using that Genesis model 2 that's criminal for a comparison channel, as the model 1 has far superior sound and graphics.
+Wade Wilson My model 1 is hooked up through RGB. You can get stereo out of it but it requires the headphone jack but there should be no problem with composite out. Composite video comes out pin 2 of the 8-pin connection in the back. Try different cables? Or maybe your console has a problem.
+Wade Wilson I found this interesting because I don't use a capture device and haven't had this problem with any of my TVs or my upscaler so I looked into it. It seems that the Genesis encodes the color information at a slightly higher rate than the NTSC standard (228 vs 227.5 MHz), probably because it's slightly higher horizontal resolution than other systems. Composite video encodes the brightness and color onto one cable in two separate frequency regions. According to Wikipedia, it seems there were a few changes in the NTSC standard between 1987 and 1994 so the Genesis, which was based on earlier arcade hardware, probably violated the standard because of that since TVs back then didn't mind. If your capture device adheres to the standard strictly, it will be able to pick up the brightness information (black and white) but not know how to properly interpret the color information resulting in either a wavy picture (which happened on my first LCD TV when there was a lot of color on screen) or no color at all. Later models of the Genesis used cheaper video encoders which resulted in varying degrees of video quality but probably had better adherence to the NTSC standard due to coming out later which is why you don't have a problem using it with your capture card.
I didn't play either back in the day, but I remember an old magazine called Tips & Tricks included the strategy for the entire Genesis game right in their CODES section. Always got a kick out of that. Another hilarious episode!!!
The one on Genesis looked like it wanted to be a SCUMM engine game, which probably would've been cool if they could fully cast the voice acting for it. I wonder if there's a fan mod to make use of the Sega Mouse.
"You're going to get stuck in this game. You won't know what to do..." I think that is the fun of a point-and-click game. Clock Tower and Myst are good examples. You never know what to do, but the fun is to discover what, when and where to use the item.
Exactly I remember watching a preview for one of the episodes of the new cartoon and someone was framing Scooby then he got arrested I was like wth? I'm like who in the world would arrested a dog smh
+Octavia Black I wouldn't be so sure about that. Mystery Inc is a ton better than the original (darker, continuing story, loves to reference old Hanna Barbera work) while Be Cool Scooby Doo is pretty funny with possibly the best version of Daphne.
so glad I've came across you guys !! awesome videos. plus Greg did you know you look a bit like Corey Taylor from Slipknot? obviously without the mask !!!!
LMAO @ The "Could You Still Play Games?" Song! I couldn't quit laughing during that whole thing. Great work again, Dan! 3:45 Greg: "You got a working Sega?" Dan: "Uhh...Yeah! (Pulls out TWO Genesis') - Hahaha! Noice! I've actually never played a Scooby Doo game, to be honest. I never watched much of the cartoon either, but I did like the few episodes that I saw of it. Anyway, the Genesis game definitely chose a unique gameplay style. I wasn't quite expecting it to be a point and click game.
Your channel is my fav! I like it better than all the big channels. I have no idea why you guys don't have 10x the subs. Your channel is a gem. Thanks for doing what you do. Could you do B.O.B., Sunset Riders or the Lost Vikings?
Hello, Console Wars! The Sega game reminds me of those old ''Humongous Entertainment'' games from the 90s. I remember playing ''Putt-Putt Travels Through Time'' as a kid, and I had fun doing it.
Long password gripes is a pet peeve of mine. Games with long passwords are games that have many different variables in them, and thus require the long password. It denotes what items are in what states, how many you have, etc. Look at Zombies Ate My Neighbors. The password system in that is only 4 characters, which takes you to a level. The problem is when you use the password it's not actually a saved game, it's a new game from that level where you start with the squirt gun. Say bye bye to all your decoys, potions, weapons, etc. It makes starting certain levels with passwords pretty hard (mines/canyon area in my experience) Anyway, now a days all you have to do is snap a pic with your phone. Or savestate
I remember renting "Scooby-Doo Mysteries" on Sega from a local "Blockbuster Video" as a kid. And being a kid, I couldn't figure out what to do, but the game did look good. Watching this did make me appreciate the game a lot more. Also never heard of the SNES version nor that it was a different game. Honestly I'm with Sega (Dan) with this one. SNES's version looks just plain in caparison to the more ambitious game on the Genesis.
Ya know, I've always been stuck in this notion of SNES superiority, but watching these videos really makes me want to set up a Genesis in my game room and track down the best Genesis games, especially since even the best/rarest are way cheaper than their SNES equivalents atm. Of course, it is a lot easier since Sega Genesis classics are dumped into giant game releases such as the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection or the Steam packs, whereas most classic SNES games are mostly still left on that system. For your next episode, you guys should definitely do Space Mega Force VS Musha, two of the greatest shooters of that generation.
I honestly thought you were going to pull off the mask, and it was going to still be Greg behind the mask somehow XD Great episode guys, and great to see Sega finally get a shut out I hope the next episode isn't DK vs Vectorman like everyone's been asking for. Why not Sonic the Hedghog vs. Super Mario World, Super Scope 6 vs. Menacer 6, Ogre Battle vs Shining Force, etc.? Great show!
I'm not sure if this was mentioned in an earlier comment, but the music from the SNES version is actually music from the cartoon. I prefer the Genesis version by far, but do like how the SNES version had the cartoon's music....that music that's been burned into my brain due to repetition....OK, maybe that's not such a good thing after all....
How nice to see my suggestion turning into an episode :). And it was a great one as well! What I hate about the Genesis version is that the password system isn't only painfully long but also buggy. Me and my friend had to start over Ha Ha Carneval because the passwords refused to work in the end, though we double-checked them. So annoying! Did anyone else ever encounter this?
Another great vid. Can't believe how detailed the game looks on the Genesis, almost has as much animation as the old Sierra games. Also, we have the same 8-way A/V switch...it's a godsend
Great episode!! It seems that as you guys make more episodes more and more effort and effects and storylines are being made. Definitely enjoyed this episode. It makes me want to get a copy of this game for the Genesis. Lol. Keep up the great work guys!!!!
+Console Wars You guys definitely are!! Not saying that your older episodes were bad or anything. they've all been good. Its a great series !! I'll be looking forward to the next installment!!!!
Ryuma King Yeah I've been meaning to try out that one too. There's also one on GBA that is like the SNES version of Scooby Doo Mystery but with a bit more platforming involved.
That's my boy! "You got a working Sega?" He pulls out two Model 2's! Ine question, why no Model 1 love? Get yourself some body oil....I mean, play some games. This is the perhaps the funniest episode I have ever seen. The light fixture killed me....I'm dead now. That made me laugh so damn hard..."This isn't a Aztec temple Indiana Jones."
Scooby Doo for the Sega was one of my all time favorite games! I wish they made more games like this for consoles. So glad you guys finally covered this game :D
Your videos just keep getting better, i know that racing games can be awkward to review but episodes on Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco Gp 2 vs Nigel Mansell World Championship(or maybe this Nigel Mansell game on the super nintendo vs the sega genesis), Top Gear 2 and Rock n' Roll Racing would be great.
Velma's colours are more accurate on the SEGA version to the cartoon. That brown on Super Nintendo was unused so I'm guessing that was the true reason SEGA won that battle as animation is gameplay not graphics.
I had no idea that Scooby Doo for the Sega was like a PC adventure game. It even has similar animation to the Monkey Island series.

Ill take a wild guess and say that the next game review is about Toki or Joe & Mac
+Braxton Gamer Was Toki even on SNES? I only recall the NES and Genesis (Going Ape Spit) versions.
+Braxton Gamer Or The Lion King
+Bubba Ace That's what I was thinking too
Great episode!! It seems that as you guys make more episodes more and more effort and effects and storylines are being made. Definitely enjoyed this episode. It makes me want to get a copy of this game for the Genesis. Lol. Keep up the great work guys!!!!
+Jonathan Davidson Thanks. We like to think we're getting better with each episode.
+Console Wars You guys definitely are!! Not saying that your older episodes were bad or anything. they've all been good. Its a great series !! I'll be looking forward to the next installment!!!!
I always loved the SNES version so now I'll have to try out the Genesis version too. Have a great Halloween and as always, keep up the great videos!
+Aliens Studios Def try the Sega game. Have a Happy Halloween dude!
+Aliens Studios There is also a point'n'click adventure on the GBC, for more Scooby Doo adventure games.
Great video guys!
+Lore Torrent Thank you!
R.I.P Sega Genesis model 2 (well maybe one Sega Genesis model 2 is destroyed)
04:02
Here's a Suggestion for a future episode:
FEDA: The Emblem of Justice vs Shining Force 2.
A battle between 2 SRPG's.
Amazing episode!!!
+Vinset006 Than You!
The van? You mean The Mystery Machine??
Scooby Doo for the Sega was one of my all time favorite games! I wish they made more games like this for consoles. So glad you guys finally covered this game :D
+Adampro123 Hope you enjoyed it!
Keep it up, guys! Rad work.
+Grimages Thank you!
Did you get another Genesis console Sega?
It was already broken.
No disrespect boys. I'm a big Sega fan.
I didn't think you were being disrespectful. Some people got upset that we did that so I feel the need the say that when people ask about it.
Pumpkin spiced beer? That's disgusting. Bet it has soy in it too.
+Vini Soares We'll look into racing games.
Finally! The Lion King is next!
Ew furry movie
Velma's colours are more accurate on the SEGA version to the cartoon. That brown on Super Nintendo was unused so I'm guessing that was the true reason SEGA won that battle as animation is gameplay not graphics.
Binging the channel after that freaking awesome doom Episdoe
Have fun! Plenty of episodes to binge on.
0:13 Hey, it's Master Roshi! You know, from Dragon Ball!
Fire Emblem vs Shining Force?
