I kinda wish that if you let the beacon die 8 times, it would get renamed "Beacon the invincible", and while not actually invincible, would gain a raid boss level health bar. Like that'd be a pretty funny easter egg.
That would be both awesome and terrifying. Imagine you're already struggling with the loaders, then you have to fight the beacon as well. Sounds like something that would be in a super high difficulty mod.
I think it would be more like a raid boss for the loaders. But it would also be funny if it sprouted some tiny Hyperious minions and went full pve raid boss as well.
Stock grenades are completely allowed by the rules, because the ammo for grenades is the stock grenade, which you can find in piles. So, boom. Run completely valid.
How about a "only legendaries from the past boss". Kill knuckle dragger until you get the hornet, use only the hornet until you get to flint and use the Thunderball fists, or kill midgemong for his gun. If boss drops a shield, use the shield they drop until the next boss that drops a shield. Would be interesting on routing I think
I think it sounds awesome too! I decided to search some stuff up, and I think it might be possible, and it will be good for most of the game, but there will be a huge gap from Lilith to Wilhelm, due to no bosses really dropping anything in-between. Still could be interesting though.
You should’ve got the Gwens Head pistol from one of the boxes in The Dust. It’s a guaranteed find if you search all the designated boxes and feels like how you find it fits with your run rules
All good. I agree that it fits with the rules, but it felt weird using it 2 runs in a row. It would have made the Eridum Blight and Sawtooth Cauldron a bit easier though.
I was thinking the Lassux or however it’s apelled since it does spawn on the ground and you find it vs killing a mob for it. Woulda been a huge game changer for him.
Piles in Assault on Dragon Keep can drop Legendary items; got an Impaler Shield from a skag pile right in front of the blood fruit doors by the Orc camp in the Woods. I always check piles, regardless.
I think all piles can drop legendaries, but that is an insanely lucky drop. I also always check piles as well, because of even a chance of loot (and ammo is cool too).

Video suggestion! Can you beat borderlands (1/2/3 or whatever you want to play) with only a big iron on your hip? Optional rules: * Ol' reliable: No high teck guns this includes all elements other than fire and explosive, the guns that explode when reloading. * Heirloom: Get a uniqe that is cowboy related such as the law in bl2. * Gold rush: Due to the increasing prices for even the simplest of things if you were to buy an item you have to buy another then drop it.
Dude, this sounds awesome! I feel like this would fit perfectly in BL1, with the true revolvers and ammo type, so I think I will have to try that soon! Thank you very much for the suggestion!
Thunderball Fists dropped on my second fight with Flynt ever when I went back to see if there's anything more to do, and I used it for at least half the game, that thing is amazing.

Gas mask has put a ever lasting impact on a community by saying “put the stinky on em” and there better be a reference to it in bl4 red text legendary or unique item behind a quest or something and some other borderlands content creators like joltz or k6
LGM is a national treasure, and this must be saved for future generations. There is a reference to him with "Put the stinky on em" in a mod for Terraria called Project Vaulthalla (which adds some BL guns to terraria), and it's in the description of the Cloud Kill.
That could be part of it, but looking back at it, I think he was about to ram into me as I died, and the ragdoll got hit by the ram, and yeeted into space.
5:15 fun fact ! your bleedout timer resets after ~20 seconds iirc, but it only gets set back to the full duration *after* you go down again, which means you have to endure at least one more shortened FFYL before it's properly reset
Thank you! I've been meaning to look this up for a while now, and I was going to once I got to OP levels, but that is some of the most important Borderlands knowledge.
I completed a fun challenge run you might like, in The PreSequel. The main thrust is a White common rarity only run, no purchases, no BAR, and you must use Claptrap. Playing with Claptrap is necessary, because it’s too easy for the other characters to let their Action Skill do all the work. The one interesting thing I hadn’t expected, was that Common rarity stops being common after a while.
Very interesting, I think I would rather play Nisha for my next run, because I think Claptrap is really good and can carry his own weight in a disadvantaged run.
@@LookIntoGaming I will take your word on that. I know that he has some powerful setups, but the playstyle was too many buttons getting juggled to get all the effects going, for my tastes. I haven’t played Nisha, bc an Aimbot never appealed to me. Maybe she is the weakest link. I always thought it was ol’ Clappy. I used his subroutine tree bc it felt like that was the best way to maximize crappy commons. No builds really, except that.
I think Nisha is really strong, and has really good damage, but she lacks a lot of survivability. As for the weakest character, I think it's Aurelia. I would need to do another playthrough on her to really see, but most of her red skill tree is useless if you play solo. There are some skills that don't require a teammate, but you still have to put some points in skills that won't do anything. I also haven't taken Claptrap to max level, so I'm not 100% sure about how good he is, but I felt powerful in this run, and had a ton of fun.
@@LookIntoGaming That’s interesting. Because Aurelia is the only Vaulthunter I beat TPS with Deathless. I beat BL 1&2 Deathless in less than a handful of attempts, total, but between my favs Wilhelm and Athena, TPS was closing in on 30 fails, so in desperation, I tried Aurelia for the first time. Omg did she feel powerful, and right from the start, which really surprised me. Her Cold Tree has is all: Damage, Defense, and Crowd Control. In a way, her Action Skill seemed like an Aimbot, as it would home in on and destroy enemies so quickly that I struggled to keep up. But it was even better than an Aimbot, because it could go around cover. It took me 2 runs to get comfortable with her, and on the 3rd I did it.
I guess I would have to try my next run on her then, to get a better idea of her power. I did only play her once a few years ago, so my memory definitely needs to be refreshed. I should also take a closer look at her other 2 skill trees, as I think they are really good, I've just forgotten how they work.
@@LookIntoGaming I guess boxes aren't fair game. I just saw the part about the Gwen's Head. I've gotten a couple of Anarchists, including an incendiary from boxes in Sanctuary. The one on top of the dumpster outside of Moxies has been pretty good to me. This is a great run. I don't have the requisite skills to pull it off. Great stuff!
Well, I did loot boxes, that's where I got a few guns, but I just didn't use the Gwen's Head because I used it in my last run, and it felt weird. And of course, thank you!
I've known about it for a long time, as I'm a huge fan of LilGasMask666, but I haven't played Salvador in years, so I used this run to finally try it, and it is easily one of my favorite skills in the game.
Melee damage without any skills and gear should be pretty consistent across characters. The one exception to that rule is Krieg who has unique melee level scaling in order to keep his melee viable into higher levels. Krieg actually starts out with lower base melee damage than other characters, but he gets a bigger increase with each level, so he outpaces the other characters at some point. As for this, no idea. Maybe Salvador has worse melee range because his model is smaller than the other characters, but I don't know if it actually works like that.
Interesting. I had a feeling Krieg had to have something, and I guess all the characters' melee do feel the same. It would be interesting to see if there is a real difference with Maya and Salvador.
I could have gotten the Gwen's Head as well, but I used both of those guns in the unique-only run, and I wanted to mix things up by not using them twice in a row.
I could be wrong but I think the enemy ai is programmed to run away if you crawl towards enemies in ffyl, if you want them to stay still it might be better to stay still or even crawl backwards
That's what it feels like, and probably is. I think I've seen other people crawl backwards in ffly, so I would need to try that in my next playthrough.
Don’t worry about the thunderballfist lol, they kinda suck. However if you are interested I’d recommend farming it from sparky flynt on wam bam island, as it’s much quicker to run to him for farms that it is for captain flynt.
The funny thing is that I recently learnt that from watching LilGasMask666's streams. I really had no clue until now the Captain and Sparky Flynt shared the same loot pool, but it kind of makes sense. It's also great if (for some reason) you want a lvl 30+ Thunderball Fists.
I did this in BL1 as well, and it was very interesting. I got some really cool and op gear just from piles and lockers. BL1 has way better loot, but way less lootables.
Pretty unique BL2 challenge video. It was entertaining to watch, although I feel that any BL2 video using Sal is a bit like cheating given how busted of a Vault Hunter he is.
Thank you! And I don't like to play Sal, but I think he's my least played at this point, and I wanted to see how good he is again. (I also went the red tree, arguably the least op of them all)
What about if you die orr go into fight for your life whatever gun you die with you have to discard, might be fun deciding which gun to give up as you fight for your life. Can only use one legendary and one weapon you can use from venders every 15 levels so you could go vender one at 15 to 16 to make it fun, can farm the box gun in the dust. All other ways to get weapons. Kinda like a bl-pokemon run 🤝 always wanted to see something like this🤟
I really like that idea. It reminds me of a Fallout 4 "Iron Man" run I saw, with random negative effects when you die. I think it would be neat to try in a Borderlands game!
I have this memory where I feel like I got a Conference Call from a pile in the dust, but it was so long ago that I can't tell if it was real or just my imagination.
@@LookIntoGaming it was real if you belive enough, what do you think of the movie? Im scared, lillith has no tattos, roland is a joke being the only serious one in the franchise, it seem it will betwen 2 and presequel, its just a mess for me, have a nice day
Thank you! For the movie, I think all Borderlands fans will be prejudiced against it, but (from what I've heard) the story and universe of the movie is non-cannon, so it shouldn't affect future games. I will watch it eventually if it comes out on a streaming service I use, but I don't usually watch movies (so I'm no expert), and I've never gone to the movie theater to watch something specific (I've always been dragged there by friends and school trips). I think it's best to just watch it with no expectations, and just kind of forget that it's supposed to be related to Borderlands games. I've found that a lot of video game movie/TV adaptations aren't for people who play the games, but for a general audience that has heard of the title.
@@LookIntoGaming no. Each vault Hunter has a multiplier for each weapon Salvador shotguns Maya, SMG‘s axle assault rifles,zer0 snipers, Kreig is the unique one who has a multiplayer on his melee attacks
I honestly don't think I am anywhere near good enough to do a 1-life yet, but perhaps in the future, when I run out of other ideas (or I do it for a special stream).
I thought it would make the run way too easy. Enemy drops are a good portion of the loot you use, but chests would keep the gear flow steady, and at my level.
Hmmm, I really like that idea, and it would require making a strategy for each kill and the game in general. Thank you for the idea, I'll definitely have to try it some day!
Why not a blind mode, go by sound alone, stream will be able to see, and guide you. Alternatively you start with one pixel, each legendary you get and equip doubles the amount of pixel have. For an added challenge to the pixel(s) move like the dvd logo and if it hits the exact corner you get one pixel either taken away or given to you (depends on how mean you want to be to yourself)
@@LookIntoGaming i didn't remember exactly how to do it so had to go looking for a video but essentially on the wall opposite of the way to control core angel at the bottom of the elevator there is a gap in the collision that let's you bypass most of the death planes and on the very bottom of the map you can run all the way to terra. (Unfortunately can't confirm myself without redownloading the game so this is from the video i watched) there seems to be a crate mostly clipping into one of pillars on the rock wall jumped on is near where you can go through the wall and Fall out of bounds.
I just find two things weird. One when you go to pick up stuff in your inventory school, why don't you just sell the other stuff that you know you can't use or you're not going to use anyway? And second it just feels so weird to hear someone say baddie instead of badass.
I think the reason I picked up stuff, even knowing I can't use it, was just gamer looting instinct, I couldn't really help it. As for baddie, I grew up playing BL2, and I wasn't allowed to say badass, and it feels weird saying it now, so that's the alternative I use.
Can you make a video of completing borderlands 2 with only using drops from bandits only no bully mongs, hyperions , bosses pls : ps no lockers , no chests , no piles only bandits that are killed pls
With a run like that I would like to start with an E=Tech gun, but I don't think they spawn until a certain level. I add it to my list and do some testing on it sometime though!
You should have got the box gun it on comes out of boxes where you get the second vehicle you know you got when you see the head and scooter says awww what's in the box lol I think it's a game of thrones reference gun it has a very how critical hit rate
I think you should add some of the in-game audio but have it quite so every time when you stop talking isn’t just silence, other than that it’s a good video.
I guess I rushed the audio mixing this time, as there is bgm, but it is hard to hear. Audio is the thing I struggle with the most, but I get better with each video.
What it really needs is a remaster that fixes the crashing on pc and balances UVHM and OP levels, so you don't have to rely on slag. I think BL2 isn't dead, because it's still the most popular Borderlands game, and there are new mods always coming out that increase the replayability even more.
I have a challenge for you: Only use weapons, shields, grenade mods and class mods from only vending machines. You can use either Axton, Salvador or Zero because they use guns the best.
You do get some hp when you activate Gunzerking, but sometimes it activates too late or it's not enough to get above and reset health gate. Also, thank you!
I'm pretty sure the best item I've ever gotten was a Conference Call, in The Dust, oddly enough, but it was so long ago that I don't know if that was my imagination or not. But that is still amazing, I wonder what the chances are of that.
I don't think there is, but that would be a pretty awesome easter egg. I wonder what the drop chance would be, considering how low pile drop rates are already.
@@LookIntoGaming there is it's like a trash cannon but it might not be a legendary it's like a 0.1% chance bc me an a buddy did a trash pile only run an he got it can't remember the name of it tho
It is a bit much for a normal mode run, but I was exploring practically all of the main maps, so it took me a while. Combat was also very slow in some parts, so that didn't help.
I don't even know how that could be possible. I don't think you could get BL2 to work without an OS unless you remade the game yourself. Interesting, but practically impossible idea.

Kind of what I was thinking. It's also a force of habit for me to throw grenades into groups of enemies.

The Thumpson from Commander Lilith DLC qualifies for this challenge run.
That would be great if I did this in the DLCs, and I might try it sometime.
I've found some damn good weapons in piles. The boxes in Sanctuary occasionally give up some great loot too.
I don't know about guns, but I get a lot of Eridium from these piles, and the 2 4-packs in The highlands were a great example of that.
The reason the badass psycho got lit on fire in Frostburn was because of your spike shield
I didn't even think about that. I really thought it was something to do with PhysX, but that makes sense.
So you found out about the forbidden technique
The Stinky on em
I've known about it for a long time, as I'm a huge fan of LilGasMask666, but I haven't played Salvador in years, so I used this run to finally try it, and it is easily one of my favorite skills in the game.
21:25 "Oh man I shouldn't have ate that Taco Bell."
This is beautiful.
It would be interesting to see if there is a real difference with Maya and Salvador.
you absolutely could have used the las caux or whatever it is called, very good smg just sitting on the ground waiting to be scavenged!!
I could have gotten the Gwen's Head as well, but I used both of those guns in the unique-only run, and I wanted to mix things up by not using them twice in a row.
I got a slag etech plasma caster from a dumpster once. Right where it belonged.
I like E-Tech guns, because they look cool, but sadly their performance is useless after TVHM.
Captain is cononically his first name
The funny thing is that I recently learnt that from watching LilGasMask666's streams. I really had no clue until now the Captain and Sparky Flynt shared the same loot pool, but it kind of makes sense. It's also great if (for some reason) you want a lvl 30+ Thunderball Fists.
If only this was BL1. With my luck, I'd be drowning in Defilers and Equalizers with these rules, lol.
(I also went the red tree, arguably the least op of them all)
So the loot midget in the container technically fits the definition of your restriction.
That's what I was thinking as well, but I think that would have made it way easier.
That was ek-specially entertaining.
Thank you!
I got my first ever Pearl from a pile while farming Varkids, though it was the Unforgiven so it wasn't all that useful
My first one was from the preserve loot homies and it was The Butcher, but was slag so it was actually useful.
I fr love this guy
Thank you so much!
Literally the first mission as a gun in a chest/locker as a reward....
Huh. It appears I was missing some brain cells at that time and didn't think about that. I was too focused on melee-only until I found one...
Babe, wake up, LookIntoGaming uploaded a new challenge
I never expected to get this, but is very welcome. Thank you!
Now I'm going to start grinding Captain Flint for that gun 😅😅
Sparky Flynt has the same loot pool as Captain Flynt, so he's a good lvl 30 farm in normal mode, and a little bit quicker to path to as well.
2:55 recently started playing salv so I learned his skill activation gives u hp so u could saved yourself
2:40
I used that quite a few times throughout the run, but sometimes I thought I had health gate when I didn't, leading to some unfortunate deaths.
Loved the video you should do a white rarity only run
That's another run I have on the list, I'm just trying to figure out a way to spice it up a bit, while keeping it within my skill range.
It's up to you man either way I'll still watch it and leave a like it's well deserved
Great idea!
Thank you! It's neat to see that other people like it too!
Had no idea this game had unarmed. always assumed you weren't allowed to unequip your only weapon xD
That's what I thought for a long time after I started playing, I was just so used to having a weapon out.
I feel bad for this man. I got a legendary shield from a locker..
(It got sold after like one level ;-;)
I wonder when I'll get a legendary from something that's not a chest in BL2. That would have been awesome content.
I remember getting a legendary shotgun in a pile of shit of barkids in tinas zone, carried half game
You should totally be able to use what the loot midgets drop kuz they came from containers.
Considering how rare their drops are, that's actually a really good idea.
technically loot homies come FROM loot piles & ammo chests so guns they drop are useable
That's a good point, but their spawn chances are so rare that I wouldn't get one to spawn in a run where I could use their drops.
Did u play as Kreig for your legendary run because if so, Kreig has a multiplier for his melee attacks he’s the only one and he’s the only one
I played Maya in the Legendary-only run. I know his action skill uses bandit pistol stats, is that what you're referring to?
@@LookIntoGaming no. Each vault Hunter has a multiplier for each weapon Salvador shotguns Maya, SMG‘s axle assault rifles,zer0 snipers, Kreig is the unique one who has a multiplayer on his melee attacks
next challenge... beat borderlands 2 with no gear deathless
I honestly don't think I am anywhere near good enough to do a 1-life yet, but perhaps in the future, when I run out of other ideas (or I do it for a special stream).
Damn. No chests even? That's pretty hardcore but I kinda get it.
I thought it would make the run way too easy. Enemy drops are a good portion of the loot you use, but chests would keep the gear flow steady, and at my level.
Flying snipers are my favorite😂
Tediore snipers be like:
This one might be too brutal but I thought I’d put it here: Can I Beat Borderlands 2 Using A New Weapon After Every Kill?
Hmmm, I really like that idea, and it would require making a strategy for each kill and the game in general. Thank you for the idea, I'll definitely have to try it some day!
He put the stinky on em
Once you see it once, it becomes impossible to resist the urge to stinky any enemy near the edge of terrain.
I dont understand the rules like this is basically a normal playthrough for me except you dont pick up dropped weapons from enemies
Or chests, which are a great and consistent source of loot. It was also just to see what kind of loot I got from sources that I normally wouldn't use.
Actually there is a way to clip under the map of the bunker and then you can run all the way to terramotphes
Interesting, I thought that whole map just had a death barrier at the bottom.
As cool as it sounds, I think it would be easier for me to watch it. I'm not good at really technical/glitchy thing in games.
18:20 HE SAID THE THING NO WAY
LGM is my favorite BL content creator, and he is the one who inspired me to start making these videos, so I love when I can reference him.
Bros reading a script
This was one of the few times I was. That's why the first part of the video is usually scripted, then it's based off of noted I made while recording.
Ayyyyy he put the stinky on em
That's the main reason I wanted to play Salvador. I needed to try that ability for myself, and it is beautiful.
And now i need to beat it with only melee
I've always wanted to try that sometime. I now don't know if I want to go Zer0 or Salvador again for his awesome melee skills...
Can you make a video of completing borderlands 2 with only using drops from bandits only no bully mongs, hyperions , bosses pls : ps no lockers , no chests , no piles only bandits that are killed pls
That sounds super interesting. I will add it to my run list, and I might need to do some testing, but I'm excited to see how this would go.
I have found Hellfire from Dahl trash bin :P
I feel like I got a Conference Call from a pile in The Dust once, but I can't remember if it was real or just my imagination.
Have you done an e tech only run? Use the mission gun until you get others and sanctuary gold chest farm allowed
I would have gotten the Gwen's Head for this run, but I wanted to mix things up since I used it in my unique-only run.
7:26 3 horns ambient music 12:35 i would have to aggree
I love BL2's music, that's part of the reason I use it, and you really can't beat the Bloodshot Ramparts combat theme.
@@LookIntoGaming you really can't
20:19 Skyrim flashbacks
I think you should add some of the in-game audio but have it quite so every time when you stop talking isn’t just silence, other than that it’s a good video.
I guess I rushed the audio mixing this time, as there is bgm, but it is hard to hear. Audio is the thing I struggle with the most, but I get better with each video.
@@LookIntoGaming keep at it
Bl2 needs to be revived
What it really needs is a remaster that fixes the crashing on pc and balances UVHM and OP levels, so you don't have to rely on slag. I think BL2 isn't dead, because it's still the most popular Borderlands game, and there are new mods always coming out that increase the replayability even more.
I have a challenge for you:
Only use weapons, shields, grenade mods and class mods from only vending machines.
You can use either Axton, Salvador or Zero because they use guns the best.
I don't know how I've ever thought of a vending machine only run, but I really want to try it now, Thank you for the suggestion!
@@LookIntoGaming you are welcome
U put da Stinky on them
And this was the first run I had the honor of knocking enemies off of ledges. That made this one of my favorite runs ever.
Ok 🔥
eSpecially not eXpecially.
That is just one of the few words I pronounce odd. Everyone reminds me how to say it, but I forget but by the time I use it again.
@@LookIntoGaming Your content is really fun and I enjoy watching but this makes me want to switch off. Sorry.
man i was thinking about something like this when playing bl3 and finding a gun in a locker on sanctuary 3
2:04 is that a dal gun with jakobs barrel?
BL3 also sounds interesting for this challenge, and apparently that is a Jakobs barrel, I just looked it up, and I guess that's a combo that exists.
@@LookIntoGamingand the other one with the vladolf barrel in your other hand too
also I wasn't expecting you to see this but hey great vids man
Thank you! I always respond to comments, it's a great way to interact with viewers and pad my stats a bit.
2:45 Don't you get hp burst upon using gunzerk?
5:38 congratulations on tf2 sniper achievement!
You do get some hp when you activate Gunzerking, but sometimes it activates too late or it's not enough to get above and reset health gate. Also, thank you!
i don't if you've done this but only loot from side missions
I like the idea! A lot of mission rewards are unique, and I've already done a unique-only run, but I think I could make it interesting.
10:57 I got a Butcher from that same pile
I'm pretty sure the best item I've ever gotten was a Conference Call, in The Dust, oddly enough, but it was so long ago that I don't know if that was my imagination or not. But that is still amazing, I wonder what the chances are of that.
bro has 9 guns at 1:15
I sold them, because that's when I decided to not use vending machines for ammo.
Does this run allow gear from mission rewards?
No. I guess I should have mentioned that in the video.
@@LookIntoGaming No worries, I was just curious. Thanks for responding. :)
Is there a l legendary gun you can only get from piles but its drop chance is super low like lower then it needs to be
I don't think there is, but that would be a pretty awesome easter egg. I wonder what the drop chance would be, considering how low pile drop rates are already.
@@LookIntoGaming there is it's like a trash cannon but it might not be a legendary it's like a 0.1% chance bc me an a buddy did a trash pile only run an he got it can't remember the name of it tho
I would have no clue what gun that could be, but that's still really cool!
How is looting gear dropped from enemies not considered scavenging?
Technically it is, but enemies drop some of the loot you use, and I wanted to try a run without normal lootable sources.
13 hours,am I hearing it right?
It is a bit much for a normal mode run, but I was exploring practically all of the main maps, so it took me a while. Combat was also very slow in some parts, so that didn't help.
Can you defeat borderlands with no operating system?
I don't even know how that could be possible. I don't think you could get BL2 to work without an OS unless you remade the game yourself. Interesting, but practically impossible idea.
