I didn't use the Bee skin because I didn't have it, but I'm going to edit in all skins for future playthroughs. And I guess this idea is way more widespread than I first thought. I didn't use Hector's Paradise since I used it a bit in my last OP10 run, and I was going off of gun names. I got the idea when thinking of my last run when I was eating lunch. Also, I know all items aren't exactly "Bees", but they are all flying things that sting, so close enough. Finally, I wanted to make more bee references, I just didn't have the time, this video was late enough as is. But the largest thing I wanted to reference was the videos (and game) that I started this channel with: Bee Swarm Simulator. It's been years since I played it, but a re-visit could be for some special.
Just wanna mention, Zero can also slag enemies using the Death Blossom capstone skill in his middle tree. You can throw up to 5 sets of Kunai’s during Deception, and each Kunai deals a random element with a high chance to apply that status effect, including slag. It also applies Death Mark, which makes the enemy take 80% more damage from all sources
I completely forgot about that. I haven't played Zer0 in years, and I've been looking for a run to play him in, and now I'm disappointed in myself. I think he's a great contender for the VH for this run, but I would have to check his customization to see if I can make a beekeeper.

I believe you can put the stinky on any enemy, as long as you are determined enough. I'm also a massive fan, and you are the one who inspired me to make my first Borderlands video, so I have you to thank for a large portion of my success
Yeah, it is super annoying to rely on slag, but that's why I'm interested in seeing how TPS' endgame is because there is no slag in that game, so it's balanced differently.

I guess I didn't look at the gun list closely enough then. It also doesn't help that I've only gotten 1 seraph before. As cool as it would have been to use it though, the Hornet was already eating tons pistol ammo.

You could opp out the jacket for the shock pistol variation of the horent in a lilith dlc maybe a a future re run of this run it has the same skin as the hornet so you could say it is bee based just by the skin
maybe being salvador coulda helped more with the challenge but bxtons build here was PERFECT and the gameplay was great but sal using 2 of the stinger pistols and the hives AND yellow jackets is awesome damage wise

What's this?! A challenge run of a 12 year old looter shooter that is entirely focused around the usage of bee-themed items?! I think my rocket launcher loaded with BEES aught to put a stop to that! If anyone actually gets this, I'll bee surprised.
Im surprised you didnt spec into holding more grenades, the firebee is very potent in terms of fire damage. Also the bee shield probably made this so much harder for you 😂 Axton's shield regen skills are finicky with amp shields. Most require actual damage / shield breaking to trigger properly.
I didn't do enough testing, because that would have been great for sections with flesh enemies. And I'm not sure what shields Axton works the best with, but I the Bee was going to be a problem from the first time I got hit.
I had this idea a few months ago and gave it a small attempt but gave up lol the only thing I did different was use maya because she has a “Queen Matriarch” class mod

Played bl2 enough to know that an under leveled bee shield and hornet with any character is enough to beat the main story ... the problem is when you start a brand new save ...the bee shield is such a late game item and the rng on getting it sucks.. but the hornet on the other hand likes to drop where ever ...the only legendary I've found more than once from a box or pile
No, it sounds impossible, I couldn’t imagine the little guys doing any damage to the warrior without being vaporised by the heat. Sad to see this, save the bees guys. 😔
That sounds like a super interesting idea, since shock weapons don't spawn at the beginning. It would also be a great run and excuse to finally play Gaige.

While it can slag, realistically the chances are way less consistent than the slag turret or like Scorn. Death Mark is nice though 👀
he's also great with the bee bc the deception timer almost always gives a free recharge

Can we finally admit that slag makes borderlands 2 endgame awful and getting rid of slag was the best decision gearbox made
It being as hard as it is without slag is the annoying part.
BL1 had Corrosive, TPS had Cryo, and BL3 had Radiation, all of which acted as debuffs, but weren't nearly as mandatory as Slag is in BL2.
I like slag I just think they made it too necessary, I wish instead of radiation they just reworked slag in BL3

It's even crazier that it was the only viable weapon for the challenge.
Constructors do have insane damage reduction against Grenades. They also cannot be slagged.
Oh yeah, that's the other main issue, and that's why they're so difficult to kill as Axton.

There were way too many name options, but NOT THE BEES was chosen because it's a Terraria secret seed as well.

It probably would have gone like the last run I did, which was also on Maya, and I beat OP10 in the end with the Bee and Hector's Paradise.

I was considering Maya for this run, but I played as her on my only other OP10, and Axton is the only other viable VH that I felt comfortable playing.

I could have done that, but I used that in my last OP10 run, and I wanted to see how I could do with just Axton's healing skills.
Fun fact: In lore, the designer of the yellow jacket is colorblind so that’s why it’s blue and not yellow :)

I recommend watching LilGasMask's streams to see why that is a horrible idea. That appears to be the worst weapon in the game.
