- This is a coastal hike along the Bahia de Banderas. From Boca to our final destination is about a 3 hour hike, gorgeous views of the ocean and places to stop to get a drink, bite to eat and do some swimming on some beautiful beaches. The only way to visit these beaches is either by this hike or boat. Come with us on our adventurous hike and see why this is a must do while visiting Puerto Vallarta.

Nice to see they have repaired the bridge....a portion of it was washed out in 2019. The only negative thing I have to say about Boca is that there is a lot of dog poop about.....

The boats run regularly so it is easy to just grab the next boat - at most a 15min wait.
I don’t even think there is a way to book them in advance!

Hi, what time of year did you do this trail?
We went in October.
No way for me.
It's very beautiful but for me it's a bad fall just waiting to happen.
It's a boat taxi for me.
I just got back from pv.
Went to boca random guys keep harassing my wife and daughter for trip to the different bays beaches. Walk to boat launch on the beach.
Some guy said he was a boat captain. We agreed on $1000.00 peso to go to Yelapa and back. A different boat captain showed up. He said only to Animas Beach only 10 minute boat ride not 30 minutes to Yelapa.
The surf was high so it was to rough to go all the way to yelapa.
On the was other people on boat said their fee was $140 peso. So when we got to Animas. We told we agreed 1000 to go to yelapa and that the othe passengers paid 140.
He said it was 1000. So I kept on the 140. My wife open her mouth said 200.
He agreed we give him 650 for the three.
I assume everything was cool we enjoyed the day.
When the time came to leave. The waiter kept saying we have to wait for our captain. He finally showed up before dark.
So we boarded the boat with two guys. No one else boarded. I felt something was wrong but it was to late on the ocean. On the way to the dock at boca they picked up another guy quite large. So now theirs three guy myself wife and dauther. When we close to the pier to disembark.
The big guys says we have to pay now. Back in forth thing got heated.
My wife pulls out 300 they demanded 400.
At that point it was best to give in and get off the boat. My suggestion is just stay at boca all the other beach are all the same. Tourist traps.
Or avoid boca all together together.
