Omg, I was practicing the full wheel for about half a year now and I wasn't able to push up. Thank you so much for the video, I did my first full wheel with your help today!!! 🎉🤩
Yeah congratulations so thrilled to hear this 🥳 👏😊
Wonderful. It is the safest way for beginners. Thank you.
thank you! I am a teacher and lots of my students struggle with lifting up in wheel, I think is both for a physical reason (weak arms/flexibility in wrists and shoulders) and both for... fear! which is totally understandable. This is a great way to support the physical & emotional resistence and progress to the pose. I'll try it in my next classes!!
So good to hear, Ilaria. I agree it takes time to connect the pieces. My students have found this tool so helpful. I hope your students do to. I made a part 2 as well if you are interested 🙏💚
It works and helps. Thank you!
Thank you thank you for this!! I’ve have been searching forever to find help to work towards wheel pose xx
Seek and you shall find :-) perseverance is key. Thank you. Glad you found it and hope it’s helpful 🙏

I love the detail and progression! this is a pose I have been afraid of because of a rotator cuff surgery 18 mo ago, and my hand pain........Love it Love it!!
That is wonderful to hear, Leslie. Thank you for sharing. Be mindful as you work on it. Only proceed if it feels right. Happy practice 🙏✨
@@AnitaGoaWellBeing Definitely, I try to listen to my body and let it instruct me what it is ready for. I may never get to do some of the poses to the fullest but am so content and proud of what I have grown in. I love how you break the difficult poses down. Thank you so much.
Very helpful, thanks! I will use with my students too ❤
Glad it was helpful, Evelina. Thank you for letting me know. Enjoy sharing it with your students 🙏💚
I'm 2 years late but this demonstration was the simplest and safest one I have come across for this pose. Will definitely try it. You gained a subscriber today👍
You are right on time, Nic. Happy practice and thanks for subbing 🙏🙃
It is really very nice...I would definitely try this.....
Ooh ooh I need to try this, thank you! I think the tip about shoulder direction will be very useful!
Let me know how it goes. Happy practice 🙏
That's work very very well very very good
Yeah - wheely wheely good, Omran 🙏💯 👍
I don’t have bolster & blocks would pillows work. I have a very weak left wrist from an injury. So sometimes I would even struggle with the downward dog pose. But this is a great video thank you for sharing your information. 🙏
Sure, anything that can lift you off the floor. Be careful with your wrist. Perhaps get used to the position first to open chest, shoulders etc to create more space for wrist and refrain from lifting up before your wrist can support you. Happy practice 🙏
This is so helpful. Thank you! I wonder what I can use until I get a bolster and blocks? I'm trying pillows and blankets...
In class I’ve been doing it a bit differently lately. I use a bolster horizontally and rest shoulders on the bolster (head off the bolster but neck supported by bolster), instead of vertically on the spine as I show in video. I lift hips into a bridge pose position and play with the wheel arm position from there. Understand? So my point is; if you have a few blankets and pillows roll it up into a cylinder shape by tying them together or use strong tape that can be your bolster, or if you have a small step stool (put a pillow to soften it). A foam roller could work too. Omg if you understand this then big thumbs up to you 👍🤔🤣 Let me know 🙏😄
@@AnitaGoaWellBeing Yes I understand what you describe! I set pillows/blankets up and did as you say. Doing the pose with this set up gave me a taste of what wheel pose would feel like and it felt great. I did it a couple times today. Then, the amazing thing is when I tried it without the set up-- I got my head off the floor for the first time! OMG! I have tears in my eyes. Thank you so much Anita!! Wishing you light and love for sharing your expertise with the world!
Akshngrrl Aww 🥰 Sometimes all we need is a little help to “mind the gap” - so wonderful. Happy continued practice 🙏
I will definitely try this. I am really trying to do wheel pose and not succeeded yet. Thanks for this tip
All the best practicing! One step at a time allowing it to come together 🙏💗
The rotation and placing my hands on the floor was very hard. I had no strength to push up. I'll keep working! Thanks for your help.
Yes keep at it and you’ll notice where you are tight and weak, while also finding the wholeness of the lift. I made a follow up video to this one 👇 Maybe some of these can help you as well? All the best in practicing 🙃

Yeah, minding the gap 🙏✨💓
I L O V E this progression Anita. I have been thinking a lot about progressions and regressions lately in my own practice. So I am definitely going to try this. Thank you for sharing Anita.
Thank you, Melissa. I think it’s such a brilliant one as well. My students here in London have found it so helpful so I had to share it with the world, although I can’t take credit for it :-) Been listening to Caitlin lately? 😉💗
Thank you!
You're welcome! It sounds like you got what you needed. Happy practice 🙃🙏

Great and helpful. Liked and subscribed.
Great to hear it was helpful, Mustapha. Thank you for subbing. I will be back with more tutorials in September 🙏
If I dont have any of that stuff what do you reccomend?
You can create a bolster with a yoga mat and blankets into a cylinder shape. Or use pillows, step stools, a stool/chair at appropriate height .... Get creative with what you might have at home or outside :-)
Really good 🙏
Thank you for these great tips! I'm working towards wheel pose too... What practice do you recommend to build the arms strength required for picking oneself up into full wheel? Tomorrow I will try your tips!!
This one could be good. It does move a bit faster, not sure if you will like that ...

Also the full moon practices will be good. I hope this is helpful. If you need more suggestions let me know.
Happy practice 🙏😊
Does this work with blocks too?
I made an update tutorial with other variations as well. See the one I use with blocks toward the end of the video. Does that help? 🙏🙃

I'm very flexible but not incredibly strong, so I''ve been attempting wheel for years, but can't even begin to straighten my arms from flat on my back, so the pillow/bolster idea should be useful!
Yes, elevating yourself a bit off the floor can make a difference in feeling the parts coming together as a whole and connecting into your strength. All the best in practicing 🙏
Yes hahahahahaha
Beauty!
i will try this. I find that while doing the asanas I discover muscles that are used and when I do that I can achieve better balance and position. This pose has always eluded me because just getting into it is impossible for me- just don't feel it. This way I can feel what muscles I am using and connect with them as I use the supports. I think this will work. Thank You
It takes time so be patient and enjoy the exploration, Veronica.
Here is a follow up to this that I made. Happy Practice 🙃

My wrist is very small, I find it difficult to lift my upper body. Any variation in the palm position
You can try to put blocks on an angle against wall (make sure they don’t slip). Perhaps that can give you some leverage for palm?
@@AnitaGoaWellBeing Thank you! 🌼
My pleasure 🙏
I just posted an updated version of this tutorial with more tips and tools. I added the option I mentioned to you with blocks against the wall. It’s at the end of the tutorial. Hopefully it can help you further 🙏
@@AnitaGoaWellBeing That’s great. Watching now
I am not able to lift my body with arms
Practice and you get stronger 🙏
I wanna do wheel so bad but i just cant seem to push up with my arms its like they are stuck. I can get the hands in the right position i just cant push up
It takes the nervous system time to figure out how it works in a sort of upside down position. Instead of thinking it all comes from the arms, shift your weight into your legs - root and rise from your feet. Feeling the connections from there through your body to the arms. Keep at it and one say it will click 🙏💗
@@AnitaGoaWellBeing thanks ill kerp that in mind
Can I use books for the box I don't got those-
Yes of course. You can use anything that will help you get some leverage - as long as it’s safe for you. Also if you have or can find a step stool or even big pillows, rolled up blankets.
All the best with practicing 🙏💗
