I was a Tech when the 512TRs were new. I think my store sold about (10) of them. So good of a car some owners, about (6) drove them daily and proceeded to stack on the miles. One of the most reliable Ferraris I have ever worked on.
Love the 512 TR - I have always thought of it as the original Testarossa with the kinks worked out, and a bit more polish on the interior treatment. I would buy a 512 TR before a 512 M, any day (price no object, in this case).
One of the most iconic supercar designs of all time. You show a picture of the Testarossa/512 TR to anyone and they'll instantly know it's a Ferrari. It looks amazing even by today's standards, just imagine driving one in the 80's. It must've been like a UFO landing to see the Testarossa on the road. Absolutely wonderful machine.
I got two of these on Forza Horizon 5 lol 😆 paid 13 million for the 1st one and I wanted a 2nd one and the auction house price went up to 20 million dollars lol. So I got 33 million dollars in two of em in just a game lol. Both 512TRs one is white and the other is red.. I think they look cool as hell.. they scream 80s and early 90s to me which obviously thats where they from lol. I just like the look of em their just really neat... the pop up head lights , just as the 3rd gen Transam , the Lamborghini Countach and the diablo and the c4 vett all those iconic cars of that era where pop up head lights
The 512M is one of my favourite modern cars (post ‘90). Finally saw one in the flesh last year and it blew me away. The thought of that titanium crank spinning and singing is something else. The presence it had was undeniable- don’t judge until you see one before your eyes over pics in a magazine. For me it would have to be in an unusual colour. Oro, Grigio ingrid or canna di fucile. Stunning machine
Great video, the 512 TR will always be my ultimate dream car! On top of the content being on point, the production quality is extremely hight. Nice job!
Sexy machines! My neighbor had one which he started every Sunday morning at about 7:30. I always went over to hear it. He would apologize for waking me but I always assured him that it was my pleasure to be awoken by that sound! His was a 93, a regular TR I believe but not sure.
I bought mine in 2014 when I was just 27 years old. It was like living in a dream! It is mechanically super reliable, fast and comfortable to drive long distance. It is literally the perfect classic car. The presenter really knows her apples from her oranges, she nailed the review!
Since my childhood the 512TR has always been one of my most lusted after dream rides. One of the most beautiful looking and sounding cars ever made.🔥 Awesome Review Girl.👍Much appreciated.
Just came across this video because I was checking one of these out on Hemmings. Excellent production quality and research. Looking forward to new videos!
Thank you, Colleen, so much for another phantastic presentation, explaining not only the obvious but so many background information! And this in so charming, humble manner. 👍🏻👏🏿👍🏻
I also want to make the case for the 512 TR. I have owned one since 2006. Done many miles in it. The car usually works, it is a nice place to be. Also on longer trips. You can drive fast in it also on smaller roads. And when it rains it creates a lot more spray behind the car compared to normal cars on the road - so its cool to drive in the rain also ;-)
Among the Testarossa variants, the 512 TR is the one you want - it’s the original, but with the bugs worked out, and without the crazy price of the 512 M (due principally to scarcity). Decent examples currently around $ 270 K (June 2024).
Its unclear why Ferrari deleted the pop up headlights in the 512M because the F355 had pop up headlights until 1999. Lotus kept them on the Esprit till 2004! Either way, aesthetically, to my eyes the 512 is the one to get.
I firmly believe a no-stories well documented 512TR will be trading at $500k USD levels in the next 18-months. They built/sold much fewer of them for the US Market and they reflect the best of the Testarossa lineage. Assembly quality/fit/finish and performance improvements. Not to mention they're head and shoulders more attractive than the subsequent 512M.
She also said the 512M was more desirable. I don't think she did enough research. Mote rare doesn't mean more desirable. Also, the 512TR & M have a shorter rear end/qtr panels than the Testa.
Don Johnson in Miami Vice make me fall in love with a Ferrari 512 Testarossa. But I didn't like the original Testarossa. I think the 512 Testarossa was a lot better. It had better looking wheels and more power
Thank you Mrs Sheehan for this video with another spectacular model. It's very gratifying to see a woman who is not only a true car enthusiast but who knows them better than most grown men, especially nowadays. The explanation at 9:57 about the Colombo Type F113 D flat-12, not being a "boxer" as the ignorant majority believes, is perfect and very educational! Greetings from Brazil.
Great video Colleen, the level of production is really stepping up. A lot of very interesting information in this one and I'd certainly consider the TR, never really took much notice of them until now. Like Ferrari sometimes do, they took notice of the things they needed to improve and did so... I agree on the 512M, Ive never really cared for its looks, the TR is the sweet spot for sure.
I still keep mine in very good condition and I still drive it every weekend. Originally was red, then it was painted white and now is black. Got a few swapped parts here and there and BBS rims but mostly it's still as I bought it in Germany 36 years ago. To me, it's one of the most durable Ferraris ever made.
I just discovered your channel. Absolutely love the history and the facts you teach me. The close ups of the pristine Ferraris. It's like candy for me. You would do better if you had a better microphone to catch both your beautiful voice but also the symphony of the V12.
My first sighting - as a young man driving my mums car i was passed by a red testarossa. The thing was just driving at a slow speed in a quiet neighborhood. The visual impact of it gliding by my sholder was way more than anything id ever seen come past me. Then up at the traffic lights i was able to take in the dynamic look of it a bit more. To this day a most favorable impression was made. A car with a stirring presence (imo).
I drove by the local Casey's and saw one parked there. Turned around to look and was thinking it might be a kit car. Went inside to see the owner. It was real. The owner was a super nice guy. Showed it to me. Then asked if I wanted to go for a ride. I didn't say yes. I said hell yes. Never got outside of the city limits but still a fantastic ride!
I've long thought the 512 TR was the best looking of the Testarossas. It's not as sexy as the 288 GTO--stylistically my favorite Ferrari from the era--but it's definitely an automotive icon of the 1980s, along with the Porsche 959.
Such an iconic car, one of my absolutely favorites in the Ferrari line of beasts. It’s look and styling hands down is stunning and that 12 cylinder engine’s sound is melodic and hypnotizing you mentioned that they can get loose and swap ends if you put too much throttle input, I wanted to ask; does the car communicate that while driving, can you feel that threshold of it loosing adhesion or is it instantaneous? I have heard stories second hand and I wasn’t sure if they were accurate. Thank you in advance! Great video, your on camera presence is really enjoyable and informative!
Flat 12 implies you got 12 cylinders in a straight line, so I am happy to call it a boxer even though it's not really! Or "flat V12" if you really want to confuse people! Love watching you talk some cars.
Any of the 512 series ever had a boxer engine. It actually has a 180° v12 or flat 12 if want to call it that, but not boxer. It doesn't share the same crank pins on it's pisron rods. Edit. Ok, you corrected it at the end.
The 92 512 Testarossa was the absolute best year and Pinnacle of the Testarossa
Still stuning after all these years
Talking of the car or Colleen (who has lost some kg's)?🤩
There are some Ferraris and some Lamborghinis that are timeless !
Ferraris are awesome cars that remain stunning.
The girl or the car
Both

epitome of quality and speed
Incredible video. Your knowledge is awesome. The 512 TR is one of my favorite prancing horses. Greetings from Tennessee.
I want one! STILL, after all these years!

Show u right

The production value of your videos is really upping the game!! Great camera work, and concise narration, I look forward to seeing what's next.
TR !!! 😍😍😍

Thanks for schooling us on the flat v. boxer engine configuration!
Just came across this video because I was checking one of these out on Hemmings. Excellent production quality and research. Looking forward to new videos!
Thanks! This one is for sale 😉

Lucky man !!!
The tr was my dream car for all my life still my favourite ferrari for almost 30 years.
this car is a piece of art. graphic design in 3D

I've loved the Testarossa since Miami Vice. Great review and the 512 TR does seem like the sweet spot.

could one make the m lights look fine somehow? what shape would make em look great?
IMHO These cars (even the 328) caused this “star struck” effect on those who spotted them that cars today just don’t
The most gorgeous of the tree generations!
I firmly believe a no-stories well documented 512TR will be trading at $500k USD levels in the next 18-months. One sold for $540k in the US 6 weeks ago. 9k miles
She also said the 512M was more desirable. I don't think she did enough research. Mote rare doesn't mean more desirable. Also, the 512TR & M have a shorter rear end/qtr panels than the Testa.
You could have bought these in 2011 for $40-$50k….crazy
Don Johnson in Miami Vice make me fall in love with a Ferrari 512 Testarossa. But I didn't like the original Testarossa. I think the 512 Testarossa was a lot better. It had better looking wheels and more power
That starter whirr is just magical.
Thank you Mrs Sheehan for this video with another spectacular model.

Greetings from Brazil.
Hello from Wisconsin! I have come to really like the professionalism, knowledge and positiveness given to your video presentations of Ferrari's!
Great video Colleen, the level of production is really stepping up. A lot of very interesting information in this one and I'd certainly consider the TR, never really took much notice of them until now. Like Ferrari sometimes do, they took notice of the things they needed to improve and did so...

Wow, Colleen, the camera angles, edit, and audio on this video is phenomenal! Way to go!
Ferrari styling is always captivating no matter what year
found this channel yesterday and love it!
That's the Ferrari in all the 80s and 90s movies
Excellent review on this gem of a car. Its looks only improved over time. Definitely, the pop-up headlights are the way to go.
I still love this car!
I still keep mine in very good condition and I still drive it every weekend. Originally was red, then it was painted white and now is black. Music on point
beautiful
Nice production Colleen!
Thank you!!
Awesome jeans Colleen and great presentation....LOL.
Excellent video👍 Such an great iconic 80s shape. Start a Jan Hammer tape and drive😎👍
Great work -- enjoy watching your videos.
For me the countach.was to tiny inside and when the door closed all I wanted is out..Ferrari nailed luxury and performance
Stunning! Nice car, too!
I drove by the local Casey's and saw one parked there. Turned around to look and was thinking it might be a kit car. Went inside to see the owner. It was real. The owner was a super nice guy. This lady is the most knowledgeable Ferrari enthusiast and the HIPPIEST of them all.
My favorite car of all time. I drive a tesla, while fast as shit it will never be as physically beautiful as this vehicle, no vehicle will.
Ferraris sexiest car
Nice! Always well made videos….
I've long thought the 512 TR was the best looking of the Testarossas. It's not as sexy as the 288 GTO--stylistically my favorite Ferrari from the era--but it's definitely an automotive icon of the 1980s, along with the Porsche 959.
Makes me want an 8ball.
Still the most Ferrari like a super car on earth
amazing car!!
I've seen it many times in video games! Awesome!! 😯😲😎
Nice clip Colleen!
So thorough. Well done 👏👏
Are y’all driving around Newport/costa Mesa area?
Yes we are
These videos are so well done. If you were there in the 80’s you knew “flair”…😂😊
Just like you, my fave. is the 512 as I just don't like the looks of the 512M and it's wheels too. I think the 512 TR is the best looking one.
Beautiful….so is the Ferrari!
This the Lambo the foxbody and the vetts iconic 80s vehicle's , great video
Ultimate Miami Car !
Tubbs & Crockett!
SENNA TEVE UMA DESSA
Another great video. Can we have a few more driving/drive by shots please?
The intro gives me heavy GTA 6 vibes 😱. What an amazing looking car.
I didn’t see the markers she spoke of to differentiate the US from the Euro Testarossa cars. 5:02
best tr. well my fave at least. more stylish than the other 2.
so 80s, a classic though, and hard not like
Great explanation
If you could film in 4k it would make such a difference to a beautiful make.
Amazing cat and great video as usual 👍

Cool, thank you!
Flat 12 implies you got 12 cylinders in a straight line, so I am happy to call it a boxer even though it's not really! Or "flat V12" if you really want to confuse people! Love watching you talk some cars.
Gorgeous car and host for that matter!
The 512 TR didn't come out till 1991
Whelp! There goes the price of the 512TR Now I will never be able to afford one due to social media.
the car that appeared in Outrun, those of you old enough to remember the NES, now you know what the car is.
nice opening sequence 😎
Miami Vice car so cool
Is the engine really between the axis or on top of the rear one? The engine is on top of the gearbox right?
Needs a Tubi! I know a guy LOL
One day, I will have one...
Any of the 512 series ever had a boxer engine. It actually has a 180° v12 or flat 12 if want to call it that, but not boxer. It doesn't share the same crank pins on it's pisron rods.
Edit. Ok, you corrected it at the end.
Magnum pi ...still such a stunning car
Magnum PI drove the 308 GTS. Sonny Crockett in Miami Vice had the Testarossa
The model before this facelift - is more beatiful
best gt supercar ever made
beautiful(s)
I don't know why, I would take a BB over one of these. This is a nice looking car. This is definitely cool. Boxer, cooler.
I have to admit that I love how you stand.😇
When Ferrari made good looking cars.
No mention of the engine on top of the transmission
Check the other reviews for this model. Hard to cram all the info on these machines in a short ammount of time.
still my dream car....but i'd take a couple of those vette's in the bg for now...
Back in the day, I had a client who had two. One was always in the shop for repair.
