I'm not a fan of Sanderson's, but I highly respect all he does for his fans. Releasing this little story to download for free is a really considerate move. I personally don't know anyone successful who has done this.
@@justink5000 What I've observed is that wealth only magnifies qualities a person already possesses. Look at Jeff Bezos. He had to be bullied into being "charitable." Brandon Sanderson is just plain generous.
I liked it, personally. It’s an early “novel” (more of a short story) so the writing isn’t amazing, but it’s funny in a witty, off the cuff kind of a way. Is it my favorite Sanderson story? Not by a long shot. But if you have an hour to kill, it’s a good time for sure
I'm a big fan of noire in gaming, movies, TV, and graphic novels, but I'm just starting to read proper books again recently. So I am wondering, is this a good place to start with noire stuff or if anyone has some recommendations?

He's the most generous multibajillionaire author, ever.
@@5Gburn yeah it's definitely easy to be generous when you're rich. I don't see many other rich authors doing the same though

He actually has several books available for free download on his website. From full novels, novellas to short stories
It was very fun. Especially being a fan of both Noir detective stories and Sanderson.
Thanks for the heads up. I like free stuff. I went to the website and noticed a set up pins was like $150! So free is more in my budget. lol.

Looks like novela size, or novelette at the least. Thanks for letting us know!
This book totally reminded me of a Star Trek - Next Generation episode where Picard goes into his 30's Gangster holodeck program.
… voidfish?
Edit: Sorry. VOIDFISH?!? Bookborn we are best friends now.
I saw seven birds

She looks like Brooke’s nicer younger sister
The Sophia bush allegations have followed me for fifteen years at this point 😂😂
If I was another god and was sending a villain or monster to punish a demigod I’d just send another demigod. They know how they think.
Try Mervano...silly and funny!
You look like Sophia Bush! 😅
I think Sanderson is generally a pretty boring writer but that’s an intriguing title
