    one cool feature the coppermind has is a time machine feature. if you're reading the books in release order you can set the wiki to look exactly as it did at a certain date/year or before a certain book came out. only really works after you've read the earliest stuff, but I used it a couple years back when I was catching up

    Just wanted to say as a massive ASOIAF fan I got into your videos on your reviews of the series. Then watched a few more on different topics and you’re the reason I started the cosmere, 6 Sanderson books done in 3 months (which is A LOT for me) and I’m hooked. So just wanted to say thanks I guess

      @@Bookborn I travel a lot for work. Usually have 2 10 hour trains a week. Used to watch Netflix on them but getting back into reading now, so it’s how I hammer them out. I also tend to only read one thing at a time, so it gets all the attention. And did mistborn era 1 first as it seems to be a lot of people recommendation for starting, then I did era 2. I’m quite OCD with things like that, and the same saga has to be finished before I start anything else. And yeah seen the insta about it. Looking forward to the review

    I was completely unaware Sanderson even existed until he finished off WOT. I have to admit that while i have devoured all his books i do tend to forget a lot of the 'wider cosmere' stuff and treat each series on its own merits. There is no doubt he is huge now which is well deserved.

    I think that was my comment at the beginning that you popped up in the video with the laughing face? 😂 Loved this video, and most definitely i would love all the Cosmere content you can give us because though I've watched several 17th Shard videos they ramble a lot and don't make things clear for new viewers if they have talked about it in the past. Honestly, as someone who's read all his books, I would love a video spoiling all the books and page numbers where Hoid shows up and read them in the video. That would be fun! Though I do think I've got most, if not all, of them by now. Maybe for all the world hoppers would be even better, whilst pointing out the clues that help you make the connections. One video for Hoid, another for the rest?

    • @Bookborn
      @Bookborn  Місяць тому +1

      LMAO IT WAS ALICIA! I didn't keep your name in just in case you didn't want it there lol And actually that's a good idea about Hoid - if I end up making some beginner lore videos, maybe I"ll include that as a last section that people can watch or skip.

      @@Bookborn Eventually but since I've only gotten back to reading about 2 years ago, there are still quite a few books I want to read and I'm not the fastest reader (intentionally for the most part ).
      Just the unread books alone which I already have at home are enough to last me 2-3 years at my current reading pace...maybe I should actually try to read faster 😅

    • @Bookborn
      @Bookborn  Місяць тому

      @@vledermaus Nahh I actually think that's a good way to do it. Really cool video nicely explained, but I have to say I think even revealing to new readers about Adolnalsium, the shards and the shattering is a pretty big spoiler for both Stormlight and Mistborn? Revealing that "normal" people have the ability to hold the actual powers at work in the stories feels like a HUGE giveaway for plots, and realising about Adolnalsium and The Shattering is a pretty big moment for readers I feel?

Since then, I've read all of the stormlight archive, both stormlight novellas, most of the short stories in Arcanum Unbounded (although I avoided ones with spoilers for books I hadn't read yet), Warbreaker, and Elantris! Now I'm in the middle of The Emperor's Soul with my Misborn box set read to reread!

      @@neila4440 Well...they don't *share* magic systems. They share investiture. Me saying that does not spoil anything about either magic system. (again, this fact is very well known and open within the fandom, Brandon talks about it freely - it's not considered a spoiler, so if you'd like to go in completely blind I'd really avoid any and all content about sanderson's works before you've finished reading them.)

    I've tried and tried. I liked Sanderson's BYU lectures on SFF fiction writing. I think he's smart and he gives good advice. I just don't think he's a very good writer.

      That’s fair! A lot of people have issue with his prose!
