      Me either. I’ve just started collecting older consoles myself. Each of which I’ve already owned in the past. Currently have SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Switch, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One and most recently, a Magnavox Odyssey. Once I have at least one of every console, I’ll start trying for one of every game released in the US for each. I doubt I’ll reach that goal, seeing as I’m a poor bastard, but it’s an exciting challenge. I love collecting games and consoles.

      Oh, just a few. Currently missing a NES, PSOne, 3DO, Atari 2600, Genesis, Saturn... the other ones from the 70's... Ping-O-Tronic... although I think I'll just collect the ones that have a chance at being affordable and still functional. My Magnavox Odyssey currently doesn't work, nor do I have any games or controllers for it. Come to think of it, it may not even work if I even got what I'd need for it.

    I am currently on my way to a complete N64 collection ( all 388). I collect for the system because it is what I grew up with too. My favorite part about the system is all the odd things that most people don't typically know about (modem, heartbeat sensor, capture card, mouse) and teaching others about the history of it. I consider my collection more of a museum piece than just something I want.

    WRT the Everdrive question, the people who ask it also miss sight of another important detail. There's a thrill in the hunt for those games on the list. I remember running around Tokyo looking for PS2 DDR games last year, and there was a thrill in finding a game, checking it off the list, and going on to the next one. And when you finally finish that section, there's a definite sense of pride to be had.
    Keep collecting, buddy!

    Very cool vid mate, grats on completing the set. I also finished my N64 set earlier this year so I know how much of a challenge it can be, especially with todays prices. I was lucky enough to have started collecting while games were quite a bit cheaper than they are now, so I can only imagine how tough it was to find decent deals if you just started going for it in 2016. I'm working on the PAL and NTSC-J sets now though, so that should make things a bit more interesting. Anyway, grats again and keep up the good vids.

    i both collect and own a everdrive, its just different its hard to explain to someone that doesnt have the nostalgia bug that playing the original is different then through everdrive.
    usually when i play a game through everdrive i own i take the original game and put it close to the n64 :P the pro to everdrive n64 though is that you can patch the anti aliasing out of roms so they tend to look better on modern televisions without the need to resort to expensive converter boxes.

    The question on the Everdrive made me laugh hard. My first thought was "with the amount of money Nintendrew apparently has, why not both?"
    Seriously, if I was going to collect (realistically, if I had the money to collect), I'd get both, so that I don't have to put additional wear on either my console or the carts.
    I get the nostalgia factor of handling the real cart, and having it visibly in your console, but I think I'd be happier with the Everdrive in the console, and my collection on some shelves in view from where I play.
    I really wish there were some actual local game shops in my area other than Gamestop. the next best option is Comic city, but they tend to fleece you real hard if they know what the cartridge is actually worth. Pawn shops tend to have the same issue.
    That said, I did pick up a Majora's mask from a pawn shop for 2.99 because the pawn shop owner stuck it in a console and it didn't boot the first try (not the
    standard no connection whatsoever, with the tv stating no connection, but where the no signal indicator disappeared for a good 15 seconds before reappearing, he demonstrated when I asked what was wrong with it). Took a quick look at the pins, paid my 3.00, kept it together till I got to the car, then busted a gut.
    Little bit of rubbing alcohol and it works fine.

    I enjoyed the video. I liked your clean library with labels and i enjoyed the questions you answered. One thing i wanted to say though is the title seems a little misleading. When i saw this link in my recommended videos i thought it would be a listing of all N64 games and maybe a brief description of each, possible talking about rarity. Let me say again I enjoyed the video, just saying the title could be clearer that you are just talking about YOUR collection and answering questions about it. Again i liked the video and keep up the good work on the channel. Just trying to provide a little constructive feedback. Looking forward to the next video!

    • @thekiddler26
      @thekiddler26 4 роки тому

      To avoid fake cartridges u just have to contact seller or whatever and say is the this a fake or repro because if it is and I buy it I will want a full refund etc. Or maybe you can spot a fake with pictures but otherwise no. I have barely any n64 games and already have fakes.

Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Donkey Kong 64, Jet Force Gemini, Kirby 64: Crystal Shards, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Star Wars Episode I: Racer, Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, Yoshi's Story, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, Diddy Kong Racing... Like seriously, the Nintendo 64 had some of the games I most loved. I also used to play some wrestling games at my friend's house, although I can't remember which game it was. In any case, it was a great game console. The Super Nintendo, the Nintendo 64, and the Nintendo Game Cube are without a doubt my favorite gaming consoles of all time, granted I do all of my current gaming on PC.

    Not necessarily related, but how do you keep all your stuff from collecting dust, and if you just clean it, how do you go about dusting fragile stuff like the magazines? Either way, love the channel so far, keep up the good work man!

      Yeah I just run over most everything with a feather duster, but to be honest I need to be a lot more diligent about it...haha! Cheers!

    I have a solid 14 amazing games on the 64. I liked RPGs so I did most of my gaming on the ps1 back then.

    Nice collection. I ony buy boxed games. I don`t really see the point in collecting so many when they are not complete. This is exactly what makes collecting so fun and worth it for me, finding the boxed ones between the leftovers. If a manual is missing I don`t want it.
    But a lot of respect for your effort to find all the cartridges. It`s nice to see them together.

    • @Nintendrew

      Yeah, I only buy complete games for systems which had plastic boxes (GameCube, DS, etc.). I don't know about your local game scene, but around here it's nearly impossible to find complete cardboard-box games. Finding most of my loose collection took long enough - if I wanted to finish a complete-in-box collection without ebay, it might take a lifetime! 😂 Not to mention it would cost something like 20x the price in the long run. But, I am having fun picking up empty boxes and manuals whenever I can find them to get closer to that CIB goal. :)

    • @Oblivion100
      @Oblivion100 7 років тому

      Nice that you still try to add something to the current collection with manuals etc. I`m glad to hear that.
      In Europe we also need to look for stuff on sites like ebay and retro game shops. To often they sell those boxed games for big cash.
      My collection is focused on SNES boxed games and PSX (Both only PAL) and have to be in mint condition. Not all, only the average/good stuff I want in my collection. I try to find as many good ones as possible. Not the super rare ones but those that are not that common (Secret of Evermore, Illusion of Time, Castlevania Symphony of The Night, Suikoden 1 & 2 are in my collection, that kind of stuff)
      I often come across SNES US versions but I don`t want them in my collection cause of different shape and use of an adapter (eventhough you would not see them in the box :)) and otherwise I keep collecting to much, a neverending story. I set the bar on PAL only. (unless it`s not region protected like PS3, PS4)

      Every retro game in my collection is protected with an extra plastic sleeve, also the plastic PSX games.

    I was very lucky to get my N64 at a yard sale for only 10 bucks. It came with 2 controllers, 2 rumble paks, 2 transfer paks, and 10 games with the manuals included. The game it came with were Pokémon Stadium, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Wheel of Fortune, Micky's Speedway USA, Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness, Mortal Kombat 4, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Namco Museum, and Bass Hunter 64.

    Alright, I'm impressed. Although I'm the type of collector that does not care about CIB collecting (unless say it's a really special or meaningful game, like the first two Legend Of Zelda's for NES, or Chrono Trigger, or A Link To The Past). Other than one youtube uploader, John Hancock I think is his channels name, where he has a complete "loose cart" collection of Super Nintendo games released in the US, this is really nice! I think the only real annoyance, is with those end-labels, say if you end up with more than one copy of any one given game. It's like with me, my brother gave me his version 1.1 gray cartridge of Ocarina Of Time, and I later bought a gold cart (and I believe all of those are version 1.0's). So, yeah, say I wanted to get a version 1.2 cart, or anyone out there does have (or wants to get) all three version (or four, if anyone's lucky enough to find a 1.0 gray cart).... the labels are really nice, but yeah. I guess buying 2 or 3 sets total is not a really bad thing, except on anyone's spending lol. As for my 5 favorites- Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Majora's Mask, Mario Kart 64 and Paper Mario.

    Ok heres my questions:
    What was your first Nintendo 64 game you ever owned?
    Do you own any Nintendo 64 games that were not meant for resale? (NFR)
    Do you own any dev-units/development cartridges?
    Do you own any pre-release Nintendo 64 game title's
    Do you own any beta cartridges?
    Do you own any alpha cartridges?
    Do you own any store displays/demo cartridges?
    Do you own any Nintendo 64 Disk Drive games? (N64 DD)
    Do you plan to own a Nintendo 64 Disk Drive, if you don't own one?
    Do you own any Nintendo 64 games that are unfinished/scrapped/canceled?

      Ocelot Crown dude! If you're not collecting, sell them on eBay! That way it'll help a collector possibly finish their collection, and you'll also get a fuck ton of cash!

    Ahh the N64, the last console from Nintendo that had a great library

    • @jasonarmstrong5750
      @jasonarmstrong5750 7 років тому

      Hylian Mario I never said the game cube had a bad library, it was good but good isn't the same thing as great, as for the wii, yeah it had some good games but those were hard to find with all the shit you'd see on the shelves when it was still relevant, I owned one and absolutely hated it because of how much I missed out on the games that came out for the other systems
