Had the good fortune of being right up front, dead center, at this gig. We were on the finest medication known to humanity too. Our third eye was squeeged clean lemme tell you! What a night. What a f**king band.
I think primal scream were at there best between 97 and 03. It can't be a coincidence that this was also the time that kevin shields was a member of the band. his influence on the screams sound was immense
agree 100%. the R1 Maida Vale set for XTRMNTR is incendiary. went to Leeds festival just for them at this time and they were on before Oasis, not sure why Oasis bothered playing tbh, Primal Scream blew the metaphorical roof off the place and the actual faces and ears off the people there.
Ill also cosign this; as much as i love screamadelica and as ahead of the curve as it was, this lineup (and the resulting albums esp Vanishing Point, XTRMNTR, and to a lesser extent, Evil Heat) are of another universe entirely. .. imagine walking on stage with the kind of firepower you get from the likes of Mani and Shields. Would only add that 97 is also roughly when Mani joined and his influence is obv not to be shrugged off... Not even in comparison to what the legend Kevin Fuckin Shields brings! This is real deal rock n roll

Mani to Mooney about 12 secs in..."Give me a cymbal lead in. I'm mashed" Mooney laughs, a few seconds later obliges. Mani spanks it out the park ❤❤❤❤
