Yes embellishment should be a standalone penalty. I've said that for years. Hate the infraction and embellishment on same play and creates 4 on 4. The only way to reduce embellishment is too call it only.

    • @KptKrunch9481

I agree - BUT it has to be challengeable. A LOT of these 'embellishments' are actually penalties but aren't called. Case in point - Game 5 in an early shift. Off the draw JT Miller grabbed McDavid, bear hugged him and they both skated like that up the ice. They had it on iso. That was INTERFERENCE all day long. But, McDavid doesn't go down he tries to fight through it, and in the end he grabbed Millers stick who immediately took one hand off and started looking for the ref and whining about it. Nothing was called on the play. Would you have called McDavid only if he decided to make a show of it and 'go down' while Miller was holding him? Would you of called Miller for reacting as he did when McD grabbed his stick? I get what you're saying but that's a slippery slope - if you call embellishment only 9 x out of 10 there's still an infraction happening. Then there was the Boeser dive a few games back that Gazdic showed, no Oiler was around him and he went down but maybe that was the start of Boeser's blood clot(s) and he thought he was tripped when it was he own body that failed. If latter was the case - would you of given him a penalty? See how messy this can get?

Blood clots have been a common theme in the nhl surprisingly for decades. 4 guys alone from 2011 to 2015 got diagnosed with blood clots. Blocking a shot or a hard enough slash could even cause one.

$50 on the Canucks at +136. Coming off a road L, back at home, even without BB, they've outworked the Oilers for like 80% of this series.. Game 7's are workhorse games. I have a futures bet on the Oilers, so this is just me covering

@@Einstein-420 blood clots can happen just from blocking shots and injuries. A slash to the unprotected part of a leg can cause a clot for crying out loud. Blaming it on the vaccine is stupid considering only 1 vaccine caused blood clots.
