  • DJ Jer shows how to use a very price effective dance light in an amazing production style setup. Creating a ceiling wash using this wide angle fixture allows a beautiful ambiance while eliminating in-house florescent lighting.

    DJ Jer I have to be honest.Ever since I saw your videos you got me curious about how bright this light could really be considering that it's so small.Since my previous comment on here I decided to take a chance (even though I am not the biggest Chauvet fan) so I bought 2. I must say this light is so awesome and consider them 2 of my "must go to" lights for every event I do.They have been such a huge hit and I am considering getting a few more down the near future for my bigger events. Thank you for the videos and awesome info you provided.

    I've been looking for a wash light that is reliable and was wondering if this one was a good choice. I always go for Chauvet when I can, they never failed me. ADJ is imo not the greatest.

    Thank you for the detailed video. I just bought 2 of these. Is there different AUTO modes/programs built in to it? I can't seem to find any but 1

    How many did you use at that event? How many were on each tree? I like the idea of being able to wash the whole ceiling like that, but it looks like it took A LOT of fixtures. They may only be $150 each, but that adds up quickly.

      @djjermusic  9 років тому

      +MrBklein31 You could easily do a room this size I could have used 6. I paid off these lights in 1.25 events. I charged the client $1200 to do the ceiling wash. We over did it with how many we had.

    Can you adjust the sensitivity of the microphone on sound mode?

    Do you have any videos or pics of these washing tents? I bought 6, and Im hoping I could light up a 30x90 tent enough for an event.

      Brian Sullivan yes go you our Facebook page "Sioux falls DJ Jer" and you will see an orange tent with leaves and branches. It was actually the wedding from MTV teen Mom.

    Hey I am trying to wash a stage in a theater from above its about twent feet up do you think this would be a good light for that?

    • @djjermusic
      @djjermusic  6 років тому

      Steven Cerda are you trying to do multi color or just warm white? If you want multi color than yes. Of you are doing this for a theatrical event I would recommend the Chauvet DJ Eve F50Z for warm wash.

      @djjermusic  7 років тому

      mike whitt you should be able to do into the shutter and and make sure the strobe option isn't active. it think it says str then a number for speed. can you find that?

    thanks for the video. Can the fixture color fade through the colors? like the 4bar fixture for an example.

    • @djjermusic
      @djjermusic  8 років тому

      +Jon Rheubens yes you can do it through DMX or the built in programs in the unit.

    • @raggaroaringsound
      @raggaroaringsound 7 років тому

      Built in does not do fades through colors. The macros are pretty weak. You need dmx to so even fades. If I'm wrong, please tell me.

  • @DjBustinJustin
    @DjBustinJustin 9 років тому

    can you controls those with the cheaper dmx controller? like the obey 3 that i use on my par uplights?

    • @djjermusic
      @djjermusic  9 років тому

      +Party Pro DJs I don't know if you will be able to use the Obey 3 because it is a 3 channel board where the Wash FX is at least a 7 channel fixture. You could sure try but I think you will need to access the dimmer function.

    I bought a couple of these lights and they are great! however, I can't seem to get it to work on sound mode or find any options on auto mode without going dmx. Am I missing something?

    Do you ever feel that the lay person barely notices all the nice uplighting we can o for a venue as a dj? It almost seems like a waste of good money. I have the wash fx2 which is awesome bright. Good video.

    how can I set it so the white is not as bright I am not technical just want it on sound mode

    • @djjermusic
      @djjermusic  9 років тому +1

      +mike whitt I am not sure if I understand your question. So you are running this is sound active mode but it is to bright when the fixture shines white? I don't think you can master dim the fixture on the unit only through DMX mode. I will play around and see if I can figure it out.

    OR how do I just have it running in sound mode I have 2 off these prob will end up with four

    • @djjermusic
      @djjermusic  9 років тому

      +mike whitt Hey Mike so you initially asked about dimming them down correct? So you know how bright these are. Obviously by adding more it will be brighter and yes they are amazing lights when used with multiples.

    I love this light but my only problem with Chauvet is that they don't make them bright enough. ADJ (in my opinion) ALWAYS has a brighter fixture than Chauvet. for example The Mini Kinta is only 3watts and ADJ's Mini Dekker is a bright 10watts! It's a shame cause I feel Chauvet has better looking fixtures than ADJ but once again they drop the ball by making this fixture (just like every similar fixture that they have) a low 4watts. for once I wish I would see a Chauvet fixture at 5,10watts smh

    • @djjermusic
      @djjermusic  9 років тому +2

      +Armando Martinez Hey man thanks for your feedback. Have you put a ADJ wash light side by side with your Chauvet Wash FX? Field angle, color mix clarity, and output? Let me know I would love to see the comparison. Thanks again

    how do I get it to sound mode

    • @andretempfer
      @andretempfer 6 років тому

      Doesn’t really have one I’m finding (if i’m Incorrect someone please correct me as I WISH it did) but the AUTO mode and the Sound Mode are MIXED. Which makes no freaking sense to me. But alas... here we are.
