1:55 -- I guess it's just cause we're train nerds... but even if you took the train daily, it's fascinating that people like that dude on the phone standing there does not find trains even slightly fascinating to make it worthwhile enough for him to look up at the Acela pulling in 3 feet away from his face Meanwhile, us train spotters go out of our way to camp out alongside a track in the freezing cold just to see one go by!
Love this vid man I'm gonna miss these classic American high-speed trainsets with their blaring split manifold Hybrid K5LAs, and their awesome Bronze Bells which unfortunately are no longer present on most of the power cars. Hopefully when it's time Amtrak gives the Classic Acela a proper farewell much like the AEM-7s. Maybe have the Acela pose next to the Avelia Liberty for a historical photograph. It would also be wonderful to see one of these donated to a museum as well.
The Pennsylvania Railroad named its stations "Pennsylvania Station: when their station wasn't the only railroad station in town. On the Northeast Corridor alone, the PRR Stations in New York, Newark, New Jersey, Wilmington, Delaware, and Baltimore, Maryland, are all named "Pennsylvania Station".
@Dune1884 No, the rule is that when a train arrives or passes through a passenger station, it must sound its horn at least once, along with sounding its bell, to alert anyone on the platform of its presence.
ERA3733 The train has to honk the horn twice to signify forward movement. It’s like Morse code since different amount of horn is given, like at crossings.
SuperStarRendon The Acela Engineers Are More Friendly Than The Others. This May Not Be Entirely True. However, That Is The Way It Is. Nice Video! You Also Have Nice Videos, Most Of Them Via NEC (Northeast Corrider)!
The purpose of those lights are to illuminate the road bed to either side ahead of the train, and to warn persons in the path of the train of the approaching train.
Recently I travel in Amtrak accela from Boston to New York.Train was much slower than our european super fast trains like TGV,Thalys,ICE etc..I got very bored.
Tashi Dorjee That's because of our bad rail infrastructure. Trains can't go very fast. And also, Amtrak is government owned. It has to ask the U.S. government for funds.
Americans are Car people, they don't need trains like the Europeans. Although California is building a bullet-train, but for clear-energy, not because they need it.
DarPower1 If they didn’t need it, they wouldn’t be building it. They have good reasons to building it, like future congestion on the highways. What would it be like traveling through California with so much traffic? Probably more than 6+ hours. Also, the trains are supposed to run at a top speed of 220mph
0:50 train sim horn 0:52sounds great
No kidding it's great along with it's old bell
The AE horn gotta be my favorite of any train! Just sounds so big and important and got some real volume to it!
Nouvellecosse yep
Nouvellecosse it sounds like future
Nouvellecosse To me, it's saying, "I'M BIG AND IMPORTANT! COMING THROUGH!"
K5LA is amazing. So sad that the Avelia doesn’t keep it
acela always has a nice horn!!!!!!!!!!
True

That flap is the mirror so the enegineer can see the conductors and doors. It folds so train remains aero dynamic.
It's a heck of a lot faster than anything in the 1970s would've been...more comfy too :P
I just noticed some of the Acela's have flashing ditch lights

The Acela is faster than the A train

0:50 That Horn Is On My Train Simulator Game
Omg that's now my fav horn omg
Mine too
5:01 this horn sounds like an Amtrak genisis locomotive
I love the sound of steel bells on an Acela. E-bells completely ruin it.
Magnetic Moron Agreed.
That's actually a Bronze bell. A very old school type of bell used for a high speed train...shame they're gone 😞
You are so dam right, these bells are so much better than ugh... E-bells.
You don’t think the metal bells are gone for good do you?
I no longer really hear those kinds because of bells anymore. I only hear them on Metro North and on the Acela Express.
I Have A Serious Crush On You Amtrak Acela Express Trains 💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
@SuperStarRendon Thanks for such a prompt response. I've been on the TGV in France and the ICE in Germany, but I have never ridden on the Acela.
Sweet, was happy to watch how thos back mirror system work on the Acela, nice catch ! :)
Check out that horn action! Heck Yes! Supreme horn action!
@yarmo28 Acela trains run about every hour or so.
Awsome acela express videos

0:49 this horn was taking from train sim
You've got much friendlier drivers (engineers) over there lol
The Pennsylvania Railroad named its stations "Pennsylvania Station: when their station wasn't the only railroad station in town. On the Northeast Corridor alone, the PRR Stations in New York, Newark, New Jersey, Wilmington, Delaware, and Baltimore, Maryland, are all named "Pennsylvania Station".
Great catches, u caught #2030-2031, the first acela set i rode on, hint to why my username is what it is XD
I think its a rear view mirror that flips out. It folds in for the aerodynamics.
@trainengineer2 Those black things are side mirrors used for the engineer to see like in a car.
THANKYOU FOR SHARING👍& That Was FUN👍✌
In Boston trains been 150mph and that's so speed!!!!!!
Love the horn in 0:50-0:51
And the one at 4:29-4:30
0:50 sound like the horn on the train simulator HHP-8

@Trainlover4ever2006 Thanks. It was just compilation of two days of railfanning in Newark.

How frequently do express Acela trains pass through Newark?
what is the flap thingy coming out of the train engine when it is leavng the station
It’s a side mirror
What is that flappy thing by the driver's cab @0.32- 0.35?

Ah, okay. Thanks for the reply!

These old school bronze bells sound better than crappy e-bells.
Great video!!
Nice train😍
That's cool.
@Thunderheadpros Thanks, I am using Vegas Pro 9 & Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
@Nexis4Jersey I guess. I do see alot of kids on those trains. My son has been on it also. Price is expensive.
I actuly heard the Acela engine start on.
Its also on a train simulator i play. Look thru one of my videos, LOTZ OF TRAINZ
+Dolphinasd Gaming i have herd that the acela express gores 150 mph but it goes 240 mph in my game
+Sardar Jaman In the game, speed is measured in SPS not MPH or KM/PH
0:49 train sim horn
I hope the Avalia Liberty will have Hybrid K5LA
@SuperStarRendon how come train 5 and 10 are the same
@Dune1884

You list one Power Car and one End Car. They are both Power Cars, and they are both identical in construction and use.
ERA3733 they’re identical, but they are numbered differently and they are part of differently numbered acela consists
the coaches on the acela are the same as via rail canada.
Etho Smith they actually aren’t
It's sad that in Finland they don't use horn almost at all :(
Recently I travel in Amtrak accela from Boston to New York.Train was much slower than our european super fast trains like TGV,Thalys,ICE etc..I got very bored.
Tashi Dorjee That's because of our bad rail infrastructure. Trains can't go very fast.

Tashi Dorjee Your opinión here is irrelevant. Europe is a mess in mostly everything. Shut up 🤐
The horns sound much better in the US, for sure. The TGV horns sound worse than NJT's
No one asked u to board Amtrak, ypu could have taken Delta instead and have them kick you out for your constant yapping
Side view mirror :-)
I call it the Cooperate Train.....
Horn 0:50
0:54
They're nice trains but we need faster trains already!
I completely disagree. The trains in the 70's were P.O.S.'s. Amtrak has come along way.
Americans are Car people, they don't need trains like the Europeans. Although California is building a bullet-train, but for clear-energy, not because they need it.

Bruh we do need trains, I need a train to travel- How will they travel to far places?
I Really Have A Serious Crush On You Amtrak Acela Express Trains ❤️🚆❤️
