Concert in support of Haiti, a few jazz musicians from NYC: Joe Lovano, Chris Potter, Ron Blake, Joe Frahm, Ravi Coltrane etc...
love the way that Chris Potter starts his solo in a really Lovano-esque style, then evolves into himself again.
Lovano was sounding so great on this concert. I always love Chris, but Joe really had something particularly special happening that night.
Joe lovano is so swingin, his time is out of this world
Aren’t all these videos from this performance so damn great!!??
as an ex-student of lovano i can only say. This is what i tell my students to transcribe, and man, tre're loving every bit of what these have to teach us.
This is the supreme lesson on how to be creative and thank god everyday you listen to such superb musicians!!!!!!!
And the interaction between Chris and Roy was fantastic on this tune.
You can hear how much air Joe uses, his attacks make the audio peak LOL
Upright bass... fantastic mellow tone :Q
So beautiful
Much respect between these two Giants. Monk Lives in today´s jazz.
Dang! Joe Lovano is SOOOOO Good!
C'est de la démence ! Ecoutez, réécoutez, rééécoutez et toujours la folie ! Ca swingue comme jamais...
Thanks Alex Terrier for this amazing video!!!!!Each saxophonist with his own style,The most important feel the music

Gioel Severini - Bye Bye Blackbird
I like this....
Class!
Thanks Alex, these vids kick ass. I love how much Chris and Joe get into each others playing. Joe gets so into it he kinda looks a bit like a modern day T. Monk at one point in Chris's solo. Unreal, man. Wish I was there
7:53 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
A.T. thanks for posting this, man.
Came here from the "Four" video!!
Extasis!
@AlexTerrier Thanks man!
It doesn't get any better than Chris Potter. Ever. Beyond amazing and what the instrument was designed to do.
@seasidefunk you're right man, that was a great night, sur-real!
@tjc197 Kendrick Scott is on drums
Micheal Brecker too. Those guys...once you get to that level comparisons are meaningless
Is chris potter’s solo the best tenor saxophone solo of all time?
@pascal62 you're most welcome, glad you enjoy it!
This is the result of John Coltrane. .
Yes. Thank God for John Coltrane.
Not just him, legacy is big
@Francozen tout le plaisir est pour moi! ces mecs pourraient faire swinger des balais en jouant du celine dion ;-)
Can't see who's on drums. =o
5:00
potter is a freak!!!!
Where's James Carter when you need him?
26-2 @9:34
+Bryant Jackson whats good bro
looks like it's a link, but it's probably not what you'd get in the store, might have had work done, be decades old and passed down from someone, who knows
What makes you think that he has had work done on it? Just curious.
lol CHRIS POTTERRRRRRR
What mouthpiece is Chris playing on?
Lovano is like Picasso....Potter is more like Cezanne.
Nice to read an intelligent comment for a change, one that doesn't get into the 'who's the best', 'who's the winner' attitude that unfortunately infests this and other tunes/videos from this gig.
thank you! I used to teach art and was just hit with the analogy....glad someone gets it! @@teelurizzo8542
