U-KISS were the first k-pop group I ever saw on youtube during my university days, so somewhere in 2009-2013. I was obsessed with Neverland, Tick Tack, and Standing Still. UA-cam also recommended a few songs to me by TVXQ and NU'EST which I also enjoyed but I did not look any further than this at the time, and it all went to the back of my mind except for the few moment of nostalgia over the years which prompted me to watch the videos again. Then at some point in 2023 (I forget when) youtube made another recommendation to me and I am so thankful for it. It literally changed my life. It was an episode of Weekly Idol with Super Junior as the guests. I was immediately captivated and started working my way through their discography, during which time I got nostalgic for those old videos I used to watch when I was in uni, so I looked those groups up too starting with U-KISS. It wasn't long before k-pop completely took over my youtube and spotify feed, and then other Asian countries with amazing music starting filtering in. I started watching Asian dramas and learning languages (and actually enjoying it) and making travel plans. U-KISS may not be my ult favourite group but they are up there with other groups/artists that have become favourites (and regularly appear on my playlist), and they will always have a special place in my heart as the first k-pop group I ever heard. ❤ If I had to pick a U-KISS bias it would be Kevin.
U-KISS were my gateway into the kpop world too! I'm very thankful for them, and I'm so happy they got you into k-pop too. They have amazing music, and I always love meeting people who got into kpop because of them. Thank you for sharing your story ❤
