Great Video. You can also draw two overlapping walls in floor plan and use "cut" option, to cut the brick wall using the stucco wall.. This one too has pros and cons!
Great video, questions: 1.- When you create parts on your wall, is it affecting on your wall schedule the different materials. Lets say, on the inside I have tile because there is a bathroom behind. Can I add that layer of tile and will it show up in the schedule? 2.- Will Stack wall make it easier? I would love to hear pros and cons of each way of doing it. Thank you!!!
Any idea why my "create parts" edits are not showing in perspective view (camera view)? The edits are only showing in the view i made the changes on.....
It is a good video using cut/join is my preferred method. Also, have you tried using curtain wall and changing the panels out with walls? It's got some interesting pros and cons too.
Hi there. I like the create parts command. I got what I wanted. The issue I got is that non of the adjustments I did on the model does not reflect neither on the elevations nor on sections. I tried to put the detail level on fine but still didn't help. Do you have an answer for me?
Edgar Zakani hey! You have to set the Parts View to show in the properties of that view (is. “show Parts” in your elevations view properties ...) cheers !!
I typically use the stacked walls. But why am I having so many problems joining the corners. I have tried to make sure all the individual walls are setup with the same wall wraps and join settings.
The curtain wall option is an interesting one but scares me a little. You would definitely get some good flexibility but using the curtain panel category as brick, for example, scares me a bit!
I'm looking for the best way to use the same physical wall throughout the whole building, but apply some different insulation and finishes/thicknesses in each room... I was wondering which approach is the best ?
Thank you for this tutorial! my question is... how did you get those nice soft shadows? I guess that the ambient shadows are turned on too, but what i can't get is those raytraced shadows to be light and soft in Shaded visual style display. I would be really thankful for help :)
Dear I have a problem with parts method when i divided the wall by Create Pars and changing its dimension this changing not happened in the table I mean the quantity still as it is have you a solution? Thanks
I understood each one of these examples but not the first one. Each time I draw differents walls on differents levels, either a line appears dividing these two levels or either the other wall that I draw affects the height of the other. Does anybody know a tutorial on how to make a wall like this without these horizontal lines appearing? Thanks :)
How do I make custom corner details for exterior walls. I attached an image demonstrating what I mean. I cant find any video tutorials on this matter. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/f8/40/66/f840660fb6d9251913e86bd1880b5070.jpg
A couple of methods that come to mind are either to create a family for each and just place them in the model, or using the third example in the video, parts, break out the quoins, although I don't think they will clean up. I'd much rather use a tacked on family with a texture, unless there's a reason why you need them to be done differently.
There is another one. You just create two walls overlaping each other and simply join them... Once you move the wall that is inside the outside wall is going to ajdust automatically... Cheers

Stacked wall's are tough.... there could be many reasons they are not working the way you'd like...
thanks man I hope you will upload more

Each one would be it's own wall type.
@@TheRevitKid Thanks !

+soledadmexicana If you want to not show lines you need to joing the walls... but if the materials are different there will inherently be a line...

That wall was simply modeled as a wall would be... i jsut adjusted its top and bottom offsets to make it fit the hole.
Really great mic breathing
Jason Borland thanks man! Anytime you need to remember how to breathe let me know. ;)
