Courtney: While I had avoided the dentist office for about a decade, I started noticing that I was having some chipping on my front teeth and it slowly started getting worse and it was becoming something that I was just noticing and it was making me feel really uncomfortable. I noticed I wasn't smiling as much because I was trying to hide the chipping on my teeth.
Dr. Green: Courtney came in and saw me and she had undersized teeth. I immediately saw how we could give her a beautiful smile which is a few front veneers.
Courtney: I think I'm a pretty good example of someone that has a bit of white coat anxiety in the sense that any time I step into a doctor's or a dentist office, I get really stressed out. So, it's extremely important for me to feel comfortable.
Dr. Green: Courtney was very cautious. She truly wasn't sure she wanted to go through the smile makeover that we talked about. She was worried that she would look different. She was worried that it wouldn't look like her, but yet she still wanted it. So, we actually had to consult with Courtney several different times, just exploring her options. I never want to push anybody into a new smile if they don't want it. But I knew she wanted it, she was just nervous.
Courtney: I was very excited, but also nervous, I guess, to look different.
Dr. Green: We really talked her through that. And from the day we put her provisionals on, which is what happens on the first day of treatment, she was ecstatic. And then now, she has her final porcelain in and she's told me many times she can't believe that she was nervous about doing it, that she absolutely loves her new smile.
Courtney: I adore my new smile. I really like it. I catch myself smiling more and bigger. When I looked back on photos, I noticed a lot of times, I was smiling with my mouth closed. I feel like now I don't do that and I'm very adjusted now and I'm really proud of my teeth and I'm glad that I went through with everything and I feel very confident with them. She listened to me as far as I wanted a more natural appearance. I was not one of the cliché cases that came in and wanted this big white movie stars smile. I wanted a nice-looking smile that was natural and fits my face, and I think she accomplished that and listened to me and didn't give me anything that I felt silly about. I'm very pleased.
