    The bad guy version of the emperor scorpion. The psycho emperor. Definitely much more aggressive with stronger Venom. The emperor unfortunately is expensive now because of greedy overharvesting field collected specimens is much more handleable.

    Modify the top, you could cover it with some plastic. I used a piece of emergency blanket. I covered part of the open screen with it. Helps a ton. I have 2/3 of it covered humidity is at a solid 85.

    I just bought one at petsmart. I love it. I wasn’t sure if he had eaten yet but i threw in 2 crickets and immediately went for it!
    I’ve never free handled any kind of arachnid but with Anubis, i went straight in and he didn’t even try to pinch nor sting me. He’s so friendly lol

    So when i bought my scorpion from petsmart and took him home, i fed him a cricket and he actually ate it...problem is most of those crickets died long time ago and my scorpion has been refusing/walking over/ not caring that food is in front of him and i admit I've offered some Dubia roaches, the much bigger ones that i get from a small size batch because i just don't think it's an appropriate size for my bearded dragon (five month's old i believe).....My scorpion is in a 10 gallon but he hides in the coconut cave he came with (i bought the same one since his little carrier had one but store folks took it out), i don't know whats going on with him as i mist his tank daily, sometimes he will come out during the day but sits there.

    Thanks for the info ! I am preparing a terrarium for one of these, I reserved a juvenile Heterometrus laoticus, but I don’t know yet the size since the seller don’t have them yet because of cold weather. I have 2 enclosures, 60x30x30 and 50x30x38 and I probably will use the smaller one since I will need the other for other project, I hope is good enough, I will use when needed a zoomed heatmat 16w 20 cm x 30cm, seller told me they don’t heat much and that I should buy this size at least for this size terrarium, I still have 20 cm for making a cold area with more humidity, I would like to hear second opinion about this 😊

It's not attached to him anymore but he still carries it on his back. I don't want to interrupt him but I'm not sure if he doesn't need my help. Should i try help him getting it off his back? • @schizoplema3553
      @schizoplema3553 Місяць тому

      avoid over feeding your scorp...you can try this feeding cycle (once a week or once every two weeks). over feeding your scorps will lessen their lifespan...and lastly, after your scorp have eaten, make sure to remove the remaining debris (legs,wings,head) that your pet doesn't eat to avoid mites and ants...

    Okay so two questions, I have a heat lamp on my guy because my room gets a little cold and I also mist his tank like three times a day because I’ve noticed the heat lamp kinda drys it up but I have grocery bags on the top of the cage lid so the heat doesn’t come out, so my question is does that make it too hot? I sometimes will unplug the heat lamp
    But he will also go against the side of the tank and stand up and kinda say hi
    And then my second question is can I have two in one enclosure? Or will they fight?

    • @schizoplema3553
      @schizoplema3553 Місяць тому

      ok so for the 1st question... it depends on what type of scorpion you have...if its a desert type, its ok if its hot all afternoon and slightly cold in the evening...if its a forest type, you don't need a heater (unless the enclosure is in an air-conditioned room). forest type scorp like damp and dark places...but don't damp their enclosure like daily...
      for the 2nd question...desert type scorpions are NOT social critters even if they belong in the same brood (siblings)...they will eat each other (survival of the fittest)...while the forest type, they can be communal if...they belong in the same brood...there are a higher risk that if your forest scorps came from different broods, they might end up killing each other...but there is a trick to that...if you want to have a communal scorps (i can vouch for that since i have 5 communal forest scorpions), make sure that your enclosure is big...i mean REAL BIG and put a lot of hides for them to stay...hides would help them when they're on their most vulnerable state (pre-molt,molting,post molting). so if you're planning on having a communal scorp, prepare for a bigger enclosure...

    hey my birthday is coming up and i was thinking abt getting a scorpion, the thing is i had a 20 tank for my snake but it had coconut substrate but the substrate is really dry now and is like messy i feel like the scopion will keep getting burryed in it, so do you think i should just get peat soil, idk its a gut feeling for me, also i have a heating pad, do you think its ok if i put it under the tank, idk if it will heat up tho, yk like underneath the substrate, idk your the master at this pleaseeee help me with some tips

    • @ChiefSweetsUniverse
      @ChiefSweetsUniverse  Рік тому +2

      I would try repti soil if you can’t make your own substrate like me. Repti soil is great just expensive. Heating pad should be installed on the side of the tank. If the scorpion burrows and gets close to the heat may he may overheat and die. You could use a low wattage bulb above the tank like a 50watt to bring temps up to a nice 80-90f

      Is he really fat looking? Or has fat on him I’d say maybe try giving him really small crickets or something that’s similar size of his claw. They can go months without eating but if he’s skinny I’d try to get him to eat

    • @Hedorah237
      @Hedorah237 Рік тому

      @@ChiefSweetsUniverse Yeah he is skinny. I’ve been leaving some pre-killed pinhead crickets for it, it kinda seems scared of live ones. I attempt to give him live food as-well. I’ll give him a dead one, wait a day or 2 and if he hasn’t,t eaten it I try again in 4-7 days. He is a brownish coloration. He isn’t super skinny though, about the skinniness of yours. I keep him about the same as yours. Mist it lightly everyday, and I keep the water dish full.

    Pet rock? I have an American toad I need to drag out of her hide she's buried in to change the water and feed her. But I'm lazy and anti-social so I water plants every other day and she comes out if hungry. Otherwise I wouldn't see her. Perfect pet for me.
