    This dude deserves all the love bro, he is teaching a skill I personally believe EVERYONE should know, tailoring is very overlooked in everyday clothing, people don’t understand how much more impact an outfit has when it’s properly tailored and if you learn it yourself YOU ARE SET FOR LIFE FOR FRESHNESS

    Oh man, let me tell you that I'm totally into tailoring clothes for my kids. But I never had the courage to tailor my badly fitting shirts. But your video makes it look so easy. I guess I'll give it a try! Thank you so very much. And thank you too for giving other guys (like me) the courage to tell others that they love tailoring. That is not yet a matter of course these days.

    Just Found Your videos... I'm also a Dad that got tired of baggy off the rack clothes. The DryCleaners "tailoring " did only so much. And were off mark . Sooo, figured I'd teach myself via UA-cam. So far, made myself a few dress shirts 👕 that got me lots of compliments... and now growing my "tailoring " options via your videos. ▪︎. NEVER thought adding pleats in the back of a shirt.... but I see the possibilities and Like 👍 them

    I finally tried this on an overly large shirt. Didnt try darts though. I was happy enough with the results to try a few more. I think the pinning/wearing/repinning cycle is key. My shirt flared out a bit too much at the bottom so next time I pin more aggressively at that part of the shirt. Thank SD for giving me the motivation for trying this!

    Darts really make a difference, I slimed my dress shirts but I have that little bagginess right in my lower back despite the shirt being tight and slim, I'll be doing darts next time around.

    I love this video, but one thing I think was overlooked was, if you take in the sides and want a tight fit, don't make it as tight as you normally would because the darts are going to make it even tighter. Could be a good idea to even start out with the darts...

    With an 18" neck and 34/35 arms, my dress shirts are always baggy because they're made for fat guys. I have a 36" waist , but my dress shirts are XXL..
    This is exactly what I've been looking for!

    • @TheRPhelps24
      @TheRPhelps24 Рік тому

      I hear you! Those are my sizes as well! I call our people the TRex Necks!
      In order for an off the rack shirt to fit us in the body, it's impossible for it to button at the neck. Now it won't cost an arm and a leg to pay for tailoring a proper fitting shirt! I hate the baggy shirt look and the last time I got a dress shirt tailored, the sleeves came out too tight in the forearms so I had to suck it up since the wedding was so close.
