Genshin's most underrated update just dropped

- Genshin's 4th anniversary announce a bunch of Quality Of Life Updates. But Archon quick start feature stood from the rest as it changes the new player experience after they finish Liyue.
This vid made me feel guilty of having so much fun fully exploring a corner of Liyue instead of obsessing with the "story".
Me always preferring the adventure and side quests instead of the Main Story
There is no one true way to play open-world games like Genshin. Especially with side quests such as Aranara quest that can be bigger than the main quest.
world quests are way more dept in world building than archon quests. just saying
@@jonangorman6341 you're right.
At least just understand what is going in the main story. Genshin dev literally made 10000+ page of lore . And side quests are underrated and deserve voice acting.
This is true. I just started playing again after quitting when the last part of Inazuma was unlocked. I was in a rush to enter the new area and get the rewards. To do that, you start out in Fontaine, and characters I've never met are thanking me for what I haven't even done yet. The main quest stories are still really good, though.
3:27 🤔🤔🤔 Not necessarily, because when I first started, I was on a mission to open every way point and 7 statue before starting the story. It made it so much easier to get round ☝🏾😏✔️🗝
me too.. i even open the waypoint at dragon spine firts time playing genshin while knowing fully that the place is highly dangerous lol i remember going there with my lvl 10 characters and the enemy hp bar were red because of lvl difference.. and every time new region come up i do the rituals of opening all waypoint and statue first even tho that means i have to do some quest lol
you must take to account the fact at the start of developing this game it was meant to be an singleplayer title...then later they deciced to rework something and begin it develop as a live service but i must admit...that was the best thing they can do at that time but if it will remain the best thing we need to wait
It's interesting to consider how a brand new player approaches Genshin compared to one that has been playing it since close to release. Typically I'll finish an entire region, take a little break, then come back once the next region is released, so it's certainly been somewhat linear. Though the game has come a long way from having to grind through the Liyue story in order to reach inazuma for character upgrade materials (I just found the Liyue story to be somewhat slow for my taste).
I think it gets messed up more when you have other nations characters to build more, and now Natlan with the "do early" rewards that you can skip everything past Liyue to do.
Though, they did add in a new mini quest in that's seems to have the entire purpose of helping new players realize they can safely walk to Liyue from Mondstadt.
Ehh... the problem with this is that characters aren't allowed to be relevant to the story outside of their region, and events in each region must be irrelevant to all other regions.
It's been the case since launch. Outside of Scaramouche. 4 years in, you either gel with it or you don't.
Hsr seems to be going this direction. Over 1 year has past and we still see Belonog here and there.
Even though yoimiya has been to two other regions it was in accordance with her theme to see festivals
So even when they do travel abroad it's not for much other than hey look who's here~
Thats not true
Most people don't constantly leave they nation. It's not uncommon
Nah bro can't wait for Childe to appear in Li yue
So far, the most true open world game i ever play are minecraft. Everything about the map is created randomly and you can freely go to anywhere
its called sandbox
@@pinguinosovietico7051 i'm talking about open world. Not sandbox
@@thegrandlord2914 thats the point, minecraft is a sandbox. not an open world
@@pinguinosovietico7051 sandbox is a genre of games where you free to do anything you want. Sandbox game exist in many types of game, either open world, city building, even mmo.
Meanwhile openworld game is a type of game where the map are not segmented into many regions that need teleportation to go through and it is possible to walk or swim through the map since the border between area are not locked by some kind of barrier
@@pinguinosovietico7051 if we talking about sandbox, we are talking about the type of gameplay that game possible to do. Meanwhile if we talking about openworld, we are talking what type of map that game will provide to us
Idk I just followed the archon quest, it wasn't that complicated, I even started playing when fontaine was out. The only thing kind of annoying is that banners or hangouts/whatever introduce characters that haven't been introduced yet, and some of them don't even have anything to do with the archon quest.
The banner problem is something you can't really escape with live service games.
At least with Genshin you can skip ahead and do the current newest main story to meet the current banner characters once reach a certain point of the game without being out of loop. Since its seemingly self contained like the last main story.
I quick started the natlan quest, and what's even worse than the scene at the start is there's the part where they talk about the pyro archon being a human, and it has the dialog option "That's kind of like what Furina did"
It's an unvoiced dialogue too, so they easily could have chose not to include it but they still did.....
I'm a newer player and still in Sumeru. Personally I enjoy completing the quests/regions in a linear fashion in the order they were intended, and I also don't really want to explore any areas that I haven't yet reached in the story. If I did exploration or questing in any other order, think it would negatively affect my enjoyment of the story or even the whole gaming experience. So for me the quick start option doesn't make much sense. Sadly I'm also gonna miss the primogem rewards they are giving for players who complete the Natlan archon quests/exploration within the time limit. It feels bad that I'd have to play the game in the way I don't want to play it to get those rewards, and they are pretty sizeable too. So yeah, this kind of a thing just doesn't work for me... Just my thoughts about this.
Plus we now have focused mode
I've started playing last month, i'm liking so much the gameplay, as expected I did mondstadt quest first, but from the middle of liyue one, I started exploring sumeru and fontaine, had so much fun, even did the narcisus and pahsiv quest, now i'm in fontaine quest and couldn't be happier
For HSR I kinda wish we could play the boss missions like during the Quests, making them shorter kinda makes them more boring, they weren't even that more time consuming with the shortened mechanics, the Astral Express in the Penecony one was way better during the quest.
I think ZZZ let's you do that. Since its instance stage based compare to Genshin/hsr where free roam areas sometimes changes because of a boss fight. What we got instead is this super scuff Voice line story replay.......
As for story unique bossfights, all they needed to do was not removed the single boss tab that shows up the first time during the main story......very unfortunate.
I started playing when Chenyu Vale was already out. There was an event in Fontaine, plus I got Gaming as my first ever 4-star, so I needed to go to Fontaine to get rewards and boss drops. So after Liyue, I cut through Chenyu Vale and did the whole quest there, then unlocked Fontaine. Only later did I realise that this wasn't the usual progression.
The fact that there are Fontaine whi add underwater exploration, they're ticking the check box one by one.
Even if world were entirely opened since the beginning, I would not reach places out of order until it could make sense storywise.
4:04 literally a problem that only exists for people who rush the game and accept 10 quests at once
and these people think they have the right to complain that the game is boring/repetitive/only characters talking/quests are interrupted all the time
95 subs? Get this man to 1000
how are you this underrated?? love your videos man
white knights: noooo pls don't make make skip button!
Mihoyo: adds region skip!
Excellent video! Keep it up! This is why I love Genshin Impact so much.
Ur proposing a very interesting idea for someone with 69 subscribers
Guess It's time to make it 70
Code Vein spotted!
natlan is goated
You can't say you read a book if you skipped half the pages... Same goes for Genshin, you can't say you play GI if you skip the history.
Your not skipping, you need to do them all eventually before you can enter the last chapter.
I only pointed out that there shouldn't be any issues with doing the middle parts in any order you like.
@@Peopletalkgacha-di3ge Sorry, I think I got a bit "lost in translation" (English is not my mother language)...
I wasn't meant you in particular, it was meant to be general, specially for those that are annoyed for so many text (in my view, they are playing the wrong game).
Looking at it now it really feels ofensive... Maybe I should said "nobody" instead of "you", or rephrase it in another way.
In fact, I agree with your points in the video. Sorry ^_^;
Some really good points ❤
50+ comments but the subs are lower 💀 someone help this man
I think it's because this video got auto-recommended to Genshin Impact audience, which is much bigger than audience for all gacha games at once, which seems to be the channel's main audience.
Me who has a sick rig but never streams and has a ton of games but hardly plays anything besides genshin lol (total waste of potential here). I've barely ever had an issue keeping up with the quests 😂 I can easily play other amazing games but I just love genshin too much to want to most of the time. I took a short like month long break before Natland and slightly regret it sense I need the boss materials for Kachina and had not fought the boss in the story so fighting the boss without doing the story felt like a hollow first experience but besides stuff like that and characters being caught up in quests preventing other quests sometimes it's no big deal really and honestly the only major issue the game has to me nowadays is the events having amazing stories that others can't experience anymore without watching old playthroughs online and the idiots spouting off on twitter/X over crap in a fictional game and taking their unjustified rage out on others but that's not really the games fault I suppose.
Plot twist: he doesn’t play the game😂. Or just played for couple of hours😂.
Just for you, I'll steal someone's account to strim 5.1 AQ next week ye ❤️
hopefully thats not a ryzen 9 on a b550.....with a 6700 xt.....
Amd 5 7600 B650M 6700xt
nice video :>
I literally bounced when i came back to the game at inazuma, the "cant leave the godforsaken starter island cause bullshit uninteresting reasons" was enough to keep me away for 3 years XD i 90%d the basic zones, still doing the exploration when i dont have MQs
Roblox ecosystem is truly open world. 💀 Yea.
I'm 4 years into this game, and despite the regions many good aspects the truth shall remain, Inazuma was a mistake.
Oddly though, the Honkai Crossover and more importantly the tradition of HUGE summer events which came with new regions each year were not, especially those summer events. So its not like at the time Mihoyo didn't have good ideas or weren't trying they just somehow went backwards with important aspects of the region itself, albeit with very good intentions (story telling.) Sometimes Devs just experiment in the wrong direction, go a bit too far with it all, we are lucky with Genshin they kept at it regardless, for a lesser game Inazuma's jumbled nature (again, despite its positives, it absolutely has them too) would of been a IP killer.
Glad they turn things around with Sumeru. I was contemplating quitting after doing Inazuma AQ but Shenhe IQ along with Chasm AQ manage to hold my interesting until Sumeru.
i dont think inazuma was experimentation, wasnt inazuma during 2020? so covid?
@@Peopletalkgacha-di3ge i should add when i say story telling, i meant build up, sadly that AQ was a mess. I choose to believe all the rumors it was rewritten and rushed
@@-toriizaka46 maybe we could define it differently as finding their way, it was really early, in my mind as 1.0 player they were experimenting constantly in that era. Most everything has improved but personally really miss the large emphasis on co op events early on like windblume
@@-toriizaka46The bigger problem is get were in the middle of doing Inazuma when the older devs moved onto newer projects like HSR, so the new team had to work with what they got and rearranged story aspects and such.
That's how we got things like Yae's artifact set being Yoimiya's bis and Kazuha being our first Inazuma friend instead of Yoimiya on the boat. (and uses Jean's canon sword instead of a katana).
What is the ending Sumeru music?

7:10 yee i hated this scene, this doesnt make sense for new players who want to get to natlan but also feels a bit forced compared to the farewell we get from dehya in sumeru when we leave for fontaine, it wouldve been fine if it was just 1 char like navia or Charlotte but having all the girls to show up just as we leave felt way too coincidental
the story doesnt force u to travel to any regions before the new ones tho
like , u only need to complete liyue to travel to new nations like sumeru , fontaine and natlan
inazuma is locked behind a quest cuz duh how else u'd get to it? swim?
also the quests arent an issue nor disable exploration
people are just lazy and dont know how to play
tying characters and story between regions isnt an issue
fontaine IS linked cuz u gotta get there from sumeru
AND there is tons of info thats based on knowledge from sumeru there
no , fontaines story wasnt rlly good , bad even
there was no action , no trying to solve the issue and people getting falsly acused of crimes they didnt commit WHILE EVERY SECOND EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN COULD DIE
THEY DID BARELY ANYTHING ABOUT IT
+ when u finish fontaine ur told to go to natlan
so u are literaly going to miss 2 whole regions and shitton of lore and characters that are gonna come up near the end of the game
yae miko gives u info on the dendro archon , not much but still a good bit
+ not like u cant explore those regions , u can
I appreciate your comment and engaging with the topic
This video is more of a what we Could have had instead of what we actually gotten.
Inazuma being story locked isn't an issue yes since its immediately after Liyue.
As with the other regions. I argue more the feeling of being there main storywise that helps with immersion.
Setting foot in a new region should feel like a big event for new players, instead running past years worth of content just to collect some flowers for the new 5* they just gotten.
You can reach Fontaine from Chenyu Vale now. I also think they gave up in making area reachable by foot and just straight add teleporters like Natlan............
I dunno what in Sumeru is so important for Fontaine.
But if theoretically someone ask me if they can skip Sumeru/Inazuma to do Fontaine. I cannot in good faith tell them that they will be confused with the story with tons of missing context to enjoy it fully if didn't do the past 2 regions.
Learning some tidbits about Descenders or the next Archon after 10+ hours of main story that has nothing to do with it does not hold the same value and meeting Childe again in Fontaine after Liyue imo.
I'm not pro skipping entire regions. I'm talking about doing them out of order. They will have to do them all eventually in the end.
You can ice bridge to inazuma. You don't need a boat. But it stops u mechanicly wise and sorta lorewise but yea
I came politely disagree on your opinion about Fontaine's quest because action doesn't equal good story. The Meropide Fortress part was a drag, that was really boring, but the rest? No. I politely disagree.
you have waypoint to natlan and fontain automatically unlocked for you
Play as elementaless traveler for weeks, without map glitching boundaries, I dare you, and you will see how not open that world is
cool
So what update? Clickbait?
You can now start Natlan AQ immediately after finishing Liyue.
You talk too slow
X2
Still starting out. Hopefully, I get it sorted out the more I stream.
ADHD META
"Me who fckn hates the story and thinks its absolute shit"
Natlan is a failure. I can't stand the indwelling and crayon colored map.
I won't give them too much flak for trying something new.
But yeah looks like a new pokemon game instead of The War Torn nation of Dragons............
Literally a pokemon tournament.
Chenyu Vale is the best map they've ever released, damn. I wish they took Natlan's aesthetics as seriously as they did for Chenyu.
@Peopletalkgacha-di3ge that's cause natlan war isn't on the surface of natlan itself but in the abyss below it.
The people need a reason to fight hence why see the beauty first...we see what they fight for. It's not just about fighting to survive it's about fighting to keep natlan itself. Otherwise it would be better for all of then to leave
You are alone on that, man
This game effects my ADD HARD!
