#elestepariosiberiano #reaction #drumteacher
I love you.
Hola amigo! Tocas muy bien. Gracias por la inspiracion! 🥁🙌💯
@@AndrewRooneyDrums gracias a ti Andrew!!!!
@@ElEsteparioSiberiano one of the best in the game right now brother 🙏🙏
@@AndrewRooneyDrums He doesn't love you for that reaction but for trying to pronounce his name. 😂
And I love you both.
The dude put out an amazing short video as a response to people accusing him of speeding up his videos. It was him playing one handed whilst holding a tablet with a stopwatch counting up to prove the video wasn't sped up and at the end he looks into the lens and says "if you people spent as much time practicing as you do hating, you'd be able to that, but you don't so you can't" or words to that effect. Just supreme talent.
#rekt :D
Or supreme practice, which he talks about all the time :)
I saw that video! A great response to the haters, whom I suppose said, "Nah, that tablet was CGI." 😅😅😅
This dude is the embodiment of sheer will and determination
His speed is impressive, but his kit sounds bad and not to mention he's trading all that accuracy for speed.
He's a drummer that makes you want to quit. He's also a drummer that would tell you no, don't do that. Keep working. He's got a video called talent is a lie. It's all about practice being the thing that defines your ability, not some inherent quality. Love this guy.
He's the real deal Kevin! And very open about hard work ethic
you think? I stopped playing drums back in 2014 due to life reasons but seeing this guy seriously makes me want to get back into it. My kit is in storage, ready to go.
@@stonaraptor8196 get on it brother! And become a UA-camr as well. Show off your kit and your skills to the world!
I recently became aware of him. Love the guys skill, his attitude. But to directly comment on this talent is a lie video.
It’s a bit of a stretch. The beginning of the video where he says he is embarrassingly bad, he’s freaking Better than 90 percent of people right there. Haha.
So yes while he had to put in the time to get where he is, he has a natural born talent which gave him a much higher starting point.
Also being born with a talent isn’t a bad thing and doesn’t diminish any hard work. I’m sure I can learn to write clearly with my left hand if I were to lose my right. However, using my right just comes naturally.
Not an apples for apple comparison, but hopefully my point makes sense
@@DamageJackyl I’m not saying it’s impossible. You can absolutely excel at anything you put your mind to. For me. I can learn most anything and learn it quick and be definitely above average, if not high level at stuff. But I wasn’t born with maybe a specific skill but some do have a better ability to learn things. And some are with out a doubt born with talent. So I think both ends of the spectrum are true. But to deny that some people are just born more talented than others, to me is a little silly.
Jaw dropping. Everybody is talking about this guy. I have played and taught drums my entire life and when I watch him I just laugh out loud.
Madness!
he's tighter than mosquito's ass. Super talented guy and humble at the same time. Always talking about the importance of hard work.
GREAT message!
i like how he keeps saying how relaxed he is. he's as baked as a brownie so i'd kinda expect him to be
Baked as a brownie LMAO yeah. It's not illegal in Spain in private so - he can go there if he wishes :-)
@@uptoeleven lmao yup. Dude man has quite the routine! Lonely it seems. But definately dedicated to his craft
I discovered Estepario yesterday and man, I've seen many drummers in 45 years but this dude is just so unique, his style, his everything. And he is Spanish!
Yes he is one of my faves too
@@AndrewRooneyDrums my favourite drummer 🥁 my inspiration
Really ? I thought he was Italian as per accent and name ..😅
@@Warrior___ He is from Valencia. Spain.
He is a born talent. If he is from Malaysia, the talent is above all kind of distinct in human beens.
I'd like to see Manginis reaction to El estepario Siberiano. This guy is insane and he always has too much fun.
'I need to do some pratice' said by you, me and every other drummer who watches him.
HAHA yes Marc!
And he claims to smoke weed daily multiple times. I don’t buy that part though, never actually seen the green but I’ve seen a video of him rolling Tobacco so I’m inclined to believe they’re all cigarettes unless I see the actual green. I never seen anyone use weed daily and be able to be that sharp. Most have trouble with basic tasks while stoned.
@@larrytate1657 Not near as hard as you think
For me it was. But you’re right it hits everyone differently.
Drumming sober is challenging enough for me :).
el estepario is known as the king of lockdown, this is where he excelled and showcased his skill to the world! he is one of a kind and a force to be reckoned with
He's killer David!
kinda like Newton =D
All while I ate and drank myself into oblivion in lockdown in AU and wasted 2 years of my life watching Netflix - who used their time better...?!
We’ll, at least he used both hands on this one. Dude’s amazing.
Yup how lazy! Using both hands....
@@AndrewRooneyDrums 😂😂😂
He has a video explaining how he manages to get that phenomenal sound out of an EAD10. The technique includes epic quantities of damping, removing most of the toms because they either block the sound or overwhelm it, and using crash cymbals as hi-hats. He does also do plenty of double pedal stuff but not for this song. Check out his "shorts" they are as outrageous as you'd expect given this video.
“How many guys out there like this who are gonna blow my hair back?”
Ummmmmmm lol
HAHA!
I thought the same
I’m completely addicted to this guys videos! He’s so creative and mesmerising to watch, incredible drummer
Yup Nick! Excellent stuff 🥁🤜
Agreed.
"I've gotta practice" is every drummer's reaction after watching El Estepario. Myself included!
I've played for 33 years, both single and double bass, this lad is a breath of fresh air for me .
Got to be "that guy" -- this was Mike Mangini, not Portnoy. But of course, the same sentiment applies.
I thought Rudess wrote the drums since Mangini joined and that's why they are so boring?
@@SockerConny80 according to wikipedia, Mike writes his own drums.. i mean, he is a great drummer and all but yyeah, i kinda agree
@@SockerConny80 maybe boring, beacause of mechanic feeling. this guy, with a microscopic setup compared to Mangini, put so much life in that part. i've always can't listen to Mangini. now it's just butter to my ears!
@ach You beat me to the comment. This was originally recorded by Mike Mangini. Portnoy left the band 3 years earlier. This tune came from their 2nd album with Mangini on drums.
From what I read, the problem with the sound on the original recording was that they tried to recreate the drum sound on Images and Words and used drum triggers.
@@dtfreak they definitely didn't use triggers on that record (they did on Images and Words). If so it would be the worst apply of drum triggers/samples in history. It's just a extremely compressed snare sound with a high amount of the bottom signal. They clearly wanted to get an 80s vibe of snare sound though. At that time his snare sounded live pretty much the same, too.
he also has a whole series of 1 handed drumming, usually playing heavy metal, and he is doing things like drinking a coffee, reading a book, or doing finger guns (for the double bass drum/machine gun type sounds). It's an absolute must watch in my opinion. His face also remains totally calm while he does this. Check it out if you want to, and I think you won't be disappointed.
Don't forget that he's usually smoking a J
Its worth noting that, having mastered one footing complicated double pedal drum parts, and monstering them, El Estepario Siberiano, is now, one year later, smashing out Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold drum parts ONE HANDED🤯
I need to get on that Peter!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums its in his "Shorts" section. Its not whole playthroughs, else one of his arms would end up the size of a telegraph pole🤣
@@AndrewRooneyDrums that's what you say to all the guys ;)
@@peteredwards2318 hmm, not sure if you know how 'telegraphs' work lol
@@Beast-mf7br ???
Personally, I have never seen a guy so good and so comfortable!
This guy is a unique phenomenon in the annals of rhythm !!
Yeah he’s something! 🥁👀
There is no one as good as this guy! His creativity! His honesty! He truly is a drumming artist!
He is easily going to be recognized as one of the best in the world and there isn't anything subjective about that. The videos that he posts are living proof of that!
The fact he's really energized the scene says it all
When you said “single kick pedal” i about shit myself. This guy deserves everything and then some. A drumming god. ❤️
Insane player Trent
I love that he gets a great sound from a Mike Mangini track, who has an absolutely rediculously epic kit, and this guy has only 3 drums and a couple of select cymbals... PS thanks for the shoutout and getting to this one!
He also fills in those 16th note shuffles on the ride by supplementing his foot in on the hi hat to keep that groove going at the start.
Nice!
I know about this guy for two days now.....can't get enough of watching/listening to it.....wow.....just wow
He worked very hard to achieve this level. Let no one mistake that!
ABSOLUTELY...This level of skill isn't something you just wake up with!
Not only does he play with a double bass pedal too n faster than lightning !!
He also plays with one hand and smoking a blunt with the other on songs that are near impossible to play with 2 hands !!
He's Insane 🤘🏻💯
Yup I've done a heap of the one handed vids Rick!!
Proof that you don’t need a big kit to have a big sound. He makes it sound huge, real solid player!
100% Steven!
I usually gig on 3-piece. Although not playing this madness LOL
Dude is absolutely insane! Watched all his vids. Pure insanity.
This guy is an absolute monster with the drums! He makes short videos where he does stuff that is out of this world. I have seen videos where he plays with a coffee mug in one hand and you cant even tell he is playing with just one hand. I have never seen a drummer with his speed and control look so effortless. Awesome drummer!
Estepario is one of this gens greatest dummers and should be more known for his hard work, dedication, creativity, and of course drumming.
100% agree!
Too true. He inspires because of his full humanity and honest.
@@polpolmo Agreed. I rarely see people who are a genuine and honest about themselves the way he is and the small % of the rest in the world. Humanity level at 100
The “That’s what she said” joke made me make another account and subscribe again 😂
HAHA! YESSSSS
Haha , my dude sips coffee and smokes joints while playing slipnot ONE HANDED. He's fun to watch and learn from, to say the least. Im a big fan of you both!
🙏
Love him. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Me too
I just discovered him yesterday. Amazing skills and personality. I just finished watching his "Million Subscriber Special". He explains how his journey got him to that point.
Probably one of the best drummers that ever lived
Love him!
He has posted his back story. Whow ! He could have done anything he wanted to do and chose this path to support himself whilst studying. He’s meant to do this. He’s possibly the greatest drummer in the world right now.
El Estepario Siberiano is without question the cleanest, most precise drummer alive today. Possibly ever! If you want to really be impressed, watch his newer one handed videos. Insane!
I've done a heap of the one handed vids :)
This guy is quickly becoming my favorite drummers. I'm just totally impressed.
Thanks for sharing your view and impressions on this mad guy, Andrew. I'm a drummer, I've been following El Estepario Siberiano ("The Siberian from the Steppe" or "The Siberian Stepperian" in English) for a while and he was my 2020 drumming finding. I've never heard something this good with such a limited number of drum pieces. Incredible. It's too bad you can't follow his videos and streams on you tube since they're mostly in Spanish with the exception of some subtittles. In his videos he speaks about his different techniques, methods, his routines (this guy has been practicing 10 hours a day for the past ten years or so, every single day from 7pm in the morning, crazy routines). Another thing that amazes me is his sound signature and style. It's unique.
Greetings from Spain. Cheers!
El Estapario Siberiano is my favorite drummer out there. What he does is magical and awe-inspiring. Glad you enjoyed him. Check out more of his vids for sure!
Check out my playlist on him!
Go watch his single handed gravity blasts, this man is an absolute animal!! Much love for @elestepariosiberiano he completely changed the game with his technique, his skill, and his attitude
I've done HEEEAPS of his one handed vids!
Wow legends are humbled in his presence
He is so much fun to watch, also his tutorials are full of humor and good advise. Its great to see that he is getting the recognition he deserves. He just got hired by a long running and excellent Spanish metal band Saratoga. Thanks for showcasing great talent that keeps our art moving forward.
🥁🤜
Phenomenal drummer! Just found videos by this guy and they continue to blow me away.
I have watched quite a few of this gentleman’s videos and can only conclude that he is a freak of nature in his ability to play the drums.
Practiced REAL hard Greg
It's like he's always like "did I turn my bathroom light off? What am I thinking for dinner? I got to go pick up some sticks soon....." he's astounding.
This dude is the lockdown king! Up until recently, when he got a gig in a band, he was putting out covers every day. He also used to have a clock behind him where you could see he was doing a one take cover. You should check some of the covers where he also uses that weight as a coaster for his coffee.
You need to check his Gangnam Style cover. His chops in that are absolutely ridiculous and he has so much fun playing it.
Love the clock idea :)
Him yelling "Siii" at the end really shows that he tried this a bunch of times and he's actually siked to get it right
Yes Tory!!
I normally don't care for reaction videos, but ESS is something else, and to see someone who's been doing this forever being blown away is so amazing to watch
Thanks!
Love that you keep mentioning coffee and how relaxed he is. He records many shorts, and most are one-handed. He drinks coffee and smokes cigarettes with the other.
Limb independence at its purest form. Well played, super clean. The hours this guy must have put in to get this level of playing... years of pushing and dedication like this often get overlooked.
im not into drum music but since a few days ago i subbed to this guy and listen to a LOT of video.
just amazing to watch and listen to
Awesome
I love watching videos of ppl slowly (or instantly) realizing what a beast this dude is! Cool video too, very educational
Discovered El Esterario a month ago. My reaction mirrored yours!!! Luv his incredible drumming!
Just to clarify, these are Mike Mangini's drums
Got it!
This dude has been putting out some insanely cool one handed drumming videos.
This man has a gift from God like no one else, it's joyfull to watch I will never get tired to watch this guy. I't's an inspiration to all drummer. You need to be an octopus too much this man.
Never heard of this guy before today. But have gone down the rabbit hole.
He seems to be a savant when it comes to playing so relaxed, so focused, so next level. Makes it look so easy.🤯😳🤷♂️
One of the best Mark!
El Estepario Siberiano is my favorite youtuber. His drumming is insane
His reaction to El Estepario Siberiano is like mine every time I watch his clips.
I don't know what was more impressive, the drumming or your hilarious comments, too funny!
I pray you've some of his more recent work. This is mind blowing, of course, but there is just so much more to this guy.
I’ve done heaps of his vids! 👌
@AndrewRooneyDrums well I just discovered you. You have one hell of a back log for me to go through. I will definitely be checking some out.
Really cool to see you see him for the first time. I’ll never forget my first time and after watching him for a year, I’m convinced he is the best in the world right now
No need to apologize. You pronounced his name perfectly.
Thanks!
I use the split finger grip all the time. I broke both of my hands and wrists some time ago and have a tendency to drop my sticks. The split finger grip on my right hand is something I switch to predominately on cymbal work so I don't throw my stick accidentally and primarily because of the great speed I can achieve for quick responsiveness on cymbals. By having the fulcrum between my fingers, I can use the other three digits to manipulate the back end of the stick faster than with the standard grip. Hope that helps!
OMG. I was just, completely captivated. From his level of calm, coolness, to his into-it screaming, to his never-before-seen techniques... I am SO happy you featured this dude, and whoever suggested him, huge hats off to you! I rewound 10:50 multiple times before seeing your reaction, and sure enough, you had about the same reaction I did and rewound it yourself! Then, near the end, watching him play just kinda broke my brain into crossing a threshold and accepting this guy actually exists. Wow.
That grip he does on the ride cymbal is something I saw a little 5 year old do that I was teaching drums. After he left I tried it and it felt so natural I kept doing it for the last 26 years.... Since drumming is fysical "there are no rules", it's the result of what you are doing that matters. This guy is proof of that drumming "outside the box" and definitely "in the pocket"👍🏻👍🏻
sometimes i do that just because of a sore spot on my finger and change to that grip just to give it a couple seconds of rest. It just came natural to me :D
Dude is absolutely one of the best, if not the best modern drummer today. He is absolutely ridiculous....
Incredible ,first time hearing him play a full tune 👌👌👌👌👌
How good is he!?
This guy holds his stick the same way I hold a pen. Looks awkward but I write more comfortable this way. Kudos for drummer making me not feel weird now! :D
Great John!
se te noita que has disfrutado del mejor baterista del momento por eso te doy mi like
Dude switches his grip so effortlessly you cannot even notice
It's nice to come back after a couple of years and yeah, it is still awesome and inspiring.
Definitely!
"The Bearded Hobo" I believe --- I've heard him say that in videos.
He's seriously one of the most talented drummers I've ever seen --- he's played 13 yrs I believe.
Absolutely incredible
Yeah it's not that long really to be at this level
He started playing when he was 12 and he's 26 now. (he said in one of his videos)
Blowing your hair back is a feat in and of itself. That's why this guy is so good.
This guy is beyond insane. He alternates the right hand grip whilst playing. 😮
Possibly the best percussionist since Neil Peart yet he don't have but a 3 piece and plays like he has 6 sets of hands and feet. Awesome
I follow that guy for a few months now and he is such a machine, it´s incredible :D
Yeah he sure is!
The thing I find most amazing is that despite everything he barely moves.... His motor skills are off the roof.
This Guy,
Unparalleled, sublime, phenomenal, untouchable,
GOAT.
In answer to your question about double kick, he recently (couple of months ago maybe) did a video about having to get a double pedal for an audition, first time he'd used one in many years apparently. Because his thing is those absolutely outrageous linear singles between hands and foot.
8:10 you asked how many dudes like that are out there, to blow our minds.
Two years later... none, not a single another one.
And this particular dude keeps blowing our minds every new video.

I like your reactions, comedic inserts, and analysis, man. Great stuff!
Hey, thanks! 🤘
Since I started being interested in drumming about a month ago this specific drummer has popped up on the internet for me about once a week. Amazing
This guy keeps showing up on my feeds. This is the first time I have seen him use both hands while playing. One of my favorite videos he posted was the one where he plays with one hand while holding a clock to show he is playing in real time. Then he says people should spend more time practicing then hating. I've been a fan ever since. Thank you for sharing your thoughts...just when you think you have seen it all!!
Everybody knows how to pronounce his name now. He has achieved "super rockstar" status without even being in a band! And deservedly.
The. Man.
This is pure joy seeing this man playing and also see the joy on his face during it 👌❤️
I love how after 11:06 you stopped pausing the video and just let it happen with a smile on you face.
It's like "pausing this feels not right" because something epic is happening.
"That's what I look like when I'm making coffee!" Ahahahahah! Cracked me up!
🤣🤣👌
I love to watch your reaction to such a genius level of talent. I am not a drummer, but this gentleman blows my mind. The fact that you are so impressed by him is validation of his talent. Am I crazy or does he look like George Clooney with a beard? Thanks for this video Andrew.
Seeing the set up I was expecting not to be impressed. Boy was I wrong. That was a completely mind-blowing display of drumming. I long to have that kind of mastery where you can play such demanding pieces and it appear effortless. As for his hand grip, I've never seen that before but hell, it is definitely working for him.
Yup working well for him Phil!
I am going on 60 and I stumbled across his videos recently and then I began searching for people who reacted to is abilities!! And pretty much see the same reaction I see every time I watch his videos or shot takes. I would classify him as a prodigy player PERIOD!!! If there is a GOD in Heaven, then he truly blessed the Earth with this man amongst men!! ROCK ON and keep up the phenomenal work El Estepario Siberiano!!! I also love watching the reactions of all these wonderful drummers when they see him play.. Pretty much explains how great he really is!!! =)
I discovered this guy today, yesterday Keith Carlock was my favorite drummer YESTERDAY
This dude may be the best at having fun. That was truly rad.
