The all time favorite M3. The E46 is the most gorgeous body from the 3 series.
By the way, the licence plate is HUF 9985. HUF is a currency in Hungary, the Hungarian Forint. So HUF 9985 coverted to USD is like ~35 $. :D
I actually prefer the sound of stock. That combined with carbon airbox is just pure pleasure!
Much as I love my e46 M3, I never cared for the stock exhaust. Active Autowerke headers and a Euro style section one helped a fair bit (less rasp and more bass) but I'm looking forward to getting a proper catback system installed.
Supersprint sounds 9000% better than stock. The raspy/tinny sound of the stock exhaust at high revs just sounds like crap. This is how every E46 should have been made to sound from the factory!
But now you have very bad parachuting effect leading to poor drag
@@paulvicks1336 ?
Safe pull outs 🤣... 🔥🎥 cant wait to see the final form of this M3 before it goes away to it's new home
it definitely breaking up early in the rpm range. It ripped second gear with the stock exhaust!!
I need this car in my life 😍😍😍😍
You should check out the sounds of El Diablo! That's a great E46 M3 Exhaust. Always sold out though!
does this system not have an x-pipe? it seems like the exhaust pipes just go side by side and only meet in the rear mufflers?
Is the catted section 1 from Supersprint as well? I’m in California and I’ve been wanting to change out my headers but I’m not sure which cats to add in the section 1 to make up for it.
I had the full system with the V1 stepped headers on my old M3. It sounded ridiculous.
I would have gone for the x-pipe and the race muffler (rather than the straight pipes and lightweight race muffler) as this is a bit too loud for me
Uh dream car
Is this street legal
What strikes me is that the OEM is higher pitched with the throttle on then goes dead quiet when you lift off. The SS seems to pause for a split second then carry on even when you're not on the throttle. And it's much deeper.
Personally, it's too loud too often for me
Maybe go with genuine… although there’s nothing like stock.
You can really hear the power of the s54 with stock exhaust…
Is it just me or does it sound like it's breaking up at 6:20 ? Sounds great regardless, hopefully the winner doesn't trade this one into a dealer lol
Yeah I definitely thought it was breaking up too.
yo that jawn definitely misfiring lol
I hope I win this car!!!
IMO, this M3 lost that 'pep' in its step after the swap. See stock 5:39, you can hear a healthy 2nd gear chirp. This exquisite sound is absent in the aftermarket 2nd gear change.
Lol. Not every shift is gonna be the same. Also did you ever think that with the exhaust being dramatically louder that you won't be able to hear the chirp? 😂
@@mattbudesa3038 nah..the car lost some horsepower after the upgrade. That's why it's no longer able to spin the tires enough to get that legendary e46 M3 2nd gear chirp. Also read online about the many side effects of changing the stock exhaust.
Here's a tip. Always be suspicious if no before/after dynos are present in the video 🤔
@@paulvicks1336 Lol. That's a negative. It's a known fact that the OEM exhaust is restrictive. Especially the manifolds. It's been proven over and over again that you can pick up a good 25whp with a good set of headers, exhaust and a tune. I know from first hand experience with these cars. Not every shift goes the same way every time. Your analogy is just plain dumb.
I think sensors on oem exhaust have now been removed. Fault codes got thrown, ecu limits engine output to 9x%. So no longer able to spin the tires enough to chirp it.
@@paulvicks1336 you pay supersprint prices to have pnp System....and they always guarantee that there are no drawbacks
i would take this e46 m3 over g80 any day,
I know I’m a bit late to this but will it fit in the base 330i e46?
No, totally different engines.
Where's the other guy?
he works for donut media currently
Sorry but stock sound much better 🤷🏻♂️
And the mufflers have a design failure!!! Not the best way to do the T form to have the 4 pipes
Great exhaust and very well built but the sound is awful
4:15 but now you have a bigger problem, parachuting & poor drag. There's a reason BMW still uses that L-shape exhaust.
There's simply no better-than-stock exhaust for this car. If there was, this video would have at least 2 dyno tests
Supersprint made dynos already and if you See the price of above of 7k for a whole system im sure there is an improvement.
@@maxgr7723 Can you provide a link to this dyno test? There's a video of an e46 m3 with supersprint exhaust that sounds amazing, but after investigating, it turned out that m3 also had a supercharger. You really can't trust any of these exhaust companies 😒
Could you further explain the parachuting and drag? Do you literally mean how the air goes under the car? I never thought a muffler could make that big of a difference
@@I53-624 yes, underbody airflow. At higher speeds, air goes into the newly created cavity causing it
@@paulvicks1336 can’t that really effect the car in noticeable amounts though surly it’s minuscule no?
all season tires, really?
Always use your what? lol
Why I6 sounds like Honda?
bull shit.. they MUST be ceramic-coated.
Next time get B6 A4 1.8t
supersprint Is absolute trash. sounds like trash.. hate mine.. don't buy it .. unless you want a quiet car. not to say it isn't well made. it so quiet .. why bother, and its stupid expensive..
What’s louder
@@I53-624 I have awe now, it’s nice. With down pipes. Very good sounding w no drone. Has some small pops and bangs when it down shifts . I have a Audi Q5 supercharged 3.0. Check them out,
Hey bud, I think that's something called an "opinion."
@@chrisr5364 they don’t make e46 exhausts
And my friend has a supersprint race on his e46 and it’s loud as shit rest is all stock udsm
