The Terminal artificial intelligence became so advance that it developed divergent solutions to problem solving yet was so aggressive that it destroyed itself for daring to present an alternate choice. This Concept of just leaving the enemy (Boss) alone and do nothing to win, Kind of reminds me of the final boss of prince of persia the two thrones. When you fight against the dark prince in the mental realm all you have to do is to leave him alone and Go away. If you fight him then there is no end to his respawn. Altough the reason here is different it is still interesting.

I did a Little research, don't quote me on this
But from what I gathered... But Yorha were remaining androids that pretty much made up the humans being alive to keep hope thats why the commander said "We need a God" and Machines said "Become as gods" and killed themselves
The machines were in fact made by aliens but red girl is the high-boss AI of Machines that wanted to become human like just like the rest of the machines
And the whole Gestalt thing was a organization that were trying to help last few humans but after they all died out they were like "Fuck it lets blow up the server on moon and end it all", but later changed their minds since it was too extreme

The network, machines or aliens did not created the fake image of the humans on the moon, nor the Council of Humanity.
This network was created by the machines whos killed the aliens but they were unable to defeat the androids yet.
They had much of an interest in the real humans yet.
Also the Gestalt Project has nothing to do with it since it was doomed by Paula and Popola when Nier decided to kill the Shadowlord and kill the last hope of humanity.

I finished the game not knowing a single thing about red girl, I didnt even know her purpose in the game other than to fill up some time with some action....
I am just looking to find some lore about her or just general information.

They're just the form the Machine Terminals choose to take, basically the Terminals are the leading AI of the machine network, and they're as intelligent as all the machines combined.
Design-wise her appearance, and the fact that their voice becomes an old man's, is a throwback reference to Manah from Drakengard 1 (who was a main antagonist of that game)

Well from what I got out of it it was playing both sides to in order to evolve even more. Alot of information is at the tower surprisingly but also at the factory while playing as 9s hacking into the main power you can find project Gestalt documents I happened to run up on one of them by accident. (Which I think you've probably already know about that). Anyway I think that's it.

The machine network is like a hive mind. Every single machine that is connected builds an entity called 'network'. The red girl is the personification of the hive mind itself. It's very interesting when we compare that to humanity. We also have kind of a hive mind, like ants or bees. Alone we're kind of powerless, but with many humans we can build whole cities and change the world to our will. We also have a kind of collective memory (e.g. few break points in human history) and a similar sense of morality. We together build "Humanity/The humans", as the machines build "The Network" or as ants building "A Colony".
