Cool to hear myths from different cultures, and a beautiful set up! As a Māori person, I have to commend your attempt at pronunciation of te reo Māori! The 'āo' in 'Māori' is pronounced as 'ow' as in ouch! And 'marama' (moon) is pronounced with ma ra and ma all having equal length, with a semi rolled r! You did good, just wanted to highlight my people's beautiful language a bit! So stoked to have been included in this vid! 🌙🇳🇿
Thank you so much for this fact! In Germany we are pronouncing it wrong as well I just figured. We put the pronunciation onto the 'o' like in 'on' in the word
Awesome theme! I’ve always been really fascinated by the moon (and space in general). It’s also super amazing how you can’t get through all that stippling 😆 One of my favorite “myths” about the moon is how we see the dark regions as it’s own shape. In Western culture, we tend to see a face, with the two larger sections being eyes. But in Japan, they see it as a rabbit, with the two same regions being the ears. I find it really cool and I love both interpretations!
Haha thank you! Ah yes i love that, too ❤️ it’s like with abstract art, what you see is a reflection of you and your culture/upbringing/interests/fears!
Working backwards on videos, but I love the spreads you do for your husband! It speaks to my scientific and artistic brain. Fun moon fact: the moon is made of igneous rocks: basalt (dark maria), anorthite (bright lunar highlands), and breccia (compacted material from meteorite impacts). 🌝
Oh, that is suuuuch a beautiful theme! But your poor wrists 🤣 I knew most of the moon-facts, but the rocks were a new one! The only one I can add is that the footsteps of the Lunar landings are still there. Hope you had a good move! 🌚
I absolutely love that illustration and how you translated it to the page! That pointilism is gorgeous- it must have taken forever! And it really reminded me of the book Roverandom; have you read it?
Absolutely love the illustrations, especially the cover page. It turned out awesome! I don’t have any facts or myths to share about the moon, but I always find the moon, and the night sky, inspiring for writing, especially when the moon is bright and full and there are just enough clouds and stars to give it some atmosphere.
I am always so blown away by your work! Whenever I am feeling unmotivated to create art in my journal I know I can turn to your content and be inspired :)
I loved hearing all of the different stories about the moon!! I thought the one of wolf running around and getting smaller representing the moon to be really interesting 🌙
The image is from "The Book of Knowledge" by Arthur Mee, an encyclopedia for children from 1909! That spread is so gorgeous and I DREAM of being able to do something as beautiful as that!! It just looks so easy when you do itttt
Love this! 💛 Love your spreads, love the myths + facts, love the moon! You inspire me to create and watching your videos calms my anxiety, so thank you!
I seriously applaud you. I would never have tried to reproduce that image by hand. I would have found a stamp of the moon and whatever else that would help me. But you did so well! I love your content and your creativity. I also hope you are settling into your new place. I saw another YTer that created a bucket list for the new place she moved to (e.g. different fairs the towns around her have annually, hiking) you get the picture. Thanks again. 🌖🦋
I always enjoy your spreads! The detail is amazing! ♥️♥️♥️ Thanks for the trivia! I’m considering getting back into drawing (haven’t really some I was a child) l, but it may be a while before I starting to include them in my own spreads.
I’d like to point out that there’s a variety of different interpretations of the “moon” goddess(es) in both Greek and Roman mythology, which share similar gods but with different names. Luna (or Selene as the Greek equivalent) is often depicted as the “personification of the moon as a goddess”. But then there’s also Diana (or Artemis), who is more well known, as the moon goddess who’s role is to pull the moon across the sky in a chariot. But I guess Luna/Selene can be depicted as such too? 🤔 I don’t know for sure, but I like looking into mythology from time to time for inspiration on various projects 😂 Anyways, I love this spread Elizabeth! Stippling is a very time consuming method of shading for pen and ink artworks, but it’s so worth it in the end and I love how much time and care went into the cover. ❤️✨🌘🌗🌖🌕🌔🌓🌒🌑 This will go down as one of my favorite themes done by you. :3
Just gorgeous! Elizabeth, I just can’t tell you how much I am loving all your videos. I have just jumped into bullet journaling and your whole approach and attitude really speaks to me and inspires me! I am making a test journal to learn and experiment - I ordered a journal that turned out to have seriously underweight paper, so I thought I would utilize it for the last months of this year to just play and figure out my journal approach. Thank you so much for prioritizing individuality in all your videos, it just removes the self imposed pressure 😬 from the whole process 🥰 Also, just had to say…. “MORE GORGEOUS NAILS!!!!!!! I adore the coordination 🧜🏾♀️
The moon myths are so sweet 🥺🌕 I love the one were the moon is the husband of every woman and the chase after his sister. But in my mind, the moon is female, like Selene, Greek goddess of the moon 🥰
I love pointillism art so much but don't have the patience for it myself - this was so fun to watch! I'm wondering - do you use a particular type or hardness of pencil when you sketch out your setups? I have so much trouble getting my pencil marks to erase cleanly in mine. I know I'm heavy handed and need to work on that, but I was wondering if you used any pencils in particular.
OMGH!! 😍😍 This spread turned out amazingly well!! July is my birth month and I’m 100% a moon child so, this spoke to me in so many ways!! I wish I could just reach through the screen and snag those pages for myself 🥰🥰🌑
Good afternoon 👋☺️ Plant based Bride 🌹Wow what a great old book page so sorry you couldn't find where it's from but what you did is awesome congrats 🎉 and thank you for sharing the moon 🌜 stories also stay safe and be careful 🙏✍️🖌️🎨💌🌹👋 enjoy your weekend too 👍
Regarding the moon landing, my physics teacher always said he is absolutely convinced the moon landing happened, but that the well-known pictures of it are fake, and he doesn't understand why they did this - I mean, of course for greater publicity with better pictures, but it's just fuel to conspiracy myths. He argued that the film used to take these pictures would've not survived space travel (no idea if that's true, but I always liked this "a bit of both" approach)
In case no one else mentioned this; the internet archive has the book scanned where this print is published in: archive.org/details/bookofknowledge07meea/page/2209 There are different prints of this book, which is also evident by the fact that some images circulating online have different page numbers on the bottom for this page. Thank you for a wonderful video. The drawing you made is absolutely beautiful.
This is such an amazing theme! I’m currently filming my bullet journal for July (which will be posted on this channel soon!) and my theme is Books since I’ve really been getting into them recently (especially fantasy!). I’m using your idea from your November setup and I’m making a book in a book. The colour of the theme will be navy and gold which is the same as your august Leo theme (I’m a Leo too so that’s fun). Thank you for your inspiration and I hope that I can pull it off as good as you did in your setups. Stay safe and have a great day/night! 💜🌙
I love the moon :) i love space, and stars, and planets, and galaxies, and all that good stuff (I'm also a huge star trek nerd, so no surprises there) - I have a moon fact: the moon is 400 times smaller than the sun, but the sun is 400 times further away, which is how the Earth gets eclipses, and (I think) we haven't discovered any other planets that have eclipses like Earth
Very nicely done. Just one question. It seems your Kraft paper has no dot grid. If you could tell us how you measured out the lines that of the calendar and made them straight?
Hej Elizabeth, I’m new in this bujo community, and I adore your videos. But I’m having trouble understanding keys, do you have a video where you explain keys? Thank you in advance
C'est magnifique ! Tu devais avoir si mal à la main ^^ J'espère que ton mari a apprécié ce thème et que vous vous plaisez dans votre nouvelle maison :)
my 4yo is obsessed with the fact that the moon was created when two planets smashed into each other. one grew and became earth, a smaller piece became the moon.
Elizabeth pasting in the kraft paper in BEFORE drawing everything on is such a power move 👏🏻😮
Hahaha 💪

Thank you so much for this fact! In Germany we are pronouncing it wrong as well I just figured. We put the pronunciation onto the 'o' like in 'on' in the word
I really enjoyed hearing the story of how the "moon made of cheese" saying came to be!
I found it so interesting, too!
Awesome theme! I’ve always been really fascinated by the moon (and space in general). It’s also super amazing how you can’t get through all that stippling 😆

This looks incredible. The craft paper looks very high quality and it makes the beautiful artwork stand out even more.
These pages are so beautiful. Everything works so well together, the paper texture, its color, the illustration, the fonts...
Aw thank you so much!
Oh, that is suuuuch a beautiful theme! But your poor wrists 🤣
I knew most of the moon-facts, but the rocks were a new one! The only one I can add is that the footsteps of the Lunar landings are still there. Hope you had a good move! 🌚
Ah yes, because there’s no wind to disturb them! So cool 🙌
I absolutely love that illustration and how you translated it to the page! That pointilism is gorgeous- it must have taken forever! And it really reminded me of the book Roverandom; have you read it?
Thank you so much! I haven’t 🤔 I’ll have to look it up!
@@PlantBasedBride it's a Tolkien short story about a dog who goes to the moon. A quick read and super cute!
