    Great video. I'm going to see Paul McCartney in Paris in 3 weeks time and watching you speak with such passion for the music in your videos really helps build the excitement for what is to come. I'm not expecting to see 1969 Paul, he's 82 years old now, but what I know I will see is an unparalleled collection of iconic songs that mean so much to me they touch my soul - sang by the godfather of modern music who directly inspired probably 75% of all my other favourite artists and indirectly inspired the full 100%. Can't wait.

    I love this album. I’m so glad that someone your age can see the value in it. I genuinely believe Paul had the most talent in the group. We wouldn’t even have St. Peppers if it weren’t for him.

    Nice video!
    When i thought about the premise of a trilogy which doesn't follow eacother up I actually thought about Bob Dylan.
    I would argue that his "double album trilogy" could be really interesting to dive into.
    You have Blonde on Blonde in 1966, Time out of Mind in 1997 and Rough and Rowdy Ways in 2020.
    The first one being kind of a rollercoaster of ups and downs, a representation of someone in early adulthood.
    The second one being really melancholy and down kind of representing a midlife-crisis.
    Lastly RARW representing a man in old age looking forward to his death and looking back at what his life was and meant.
    It works imo because they are all really personal albums when you compare them to other albums of his.
    Anyways, just something i thought about :)

      @@ramsesgoddeeris2175 Never thought of it that way🤔 for me, Dylan’s trilogy was the “electric trilogy”. But honestly yours work too! Imma revisit RARW and see if i can see the connection

    I like your stuff. You are well intentioned and open up this greatest of 20th Century musical artists in a new way. I hope you don’t mind me filling in a few details. I am a Beatles historian.
    A few facts. In September 1969 Lennon ended the Lennon-McCartney songwriting team and demanded certain things about future Beatles albums. He did not leave the group. Similarly in December he said to his friend Eric Clapton on the way to Toronto that he was thinking of leaving. He never left. The Beatles broke up in April 1979 because Paul left. Also, the McCartney album includes Teddy Boy which Paul wrote reaching out to John in the dark times of the Get Back sessions. There is nothing in the album to suggest problems with the Beatles. That all is in the Abbey Road and Let It Be albums and Come and Get It single. But when Paul discovered what John had allowed happen with The Long and Winding Road and that they refused to back down despite 1 whole month’s time before release, when instead the other Beatles got Ringo to demand that Paul delay the release of his solo album to make way for Let it Be, and when he was told that royalties for his solo album would be split 5 ways as per the Beatles formula with him getting less than 20%, he put out that famous “Bowl of Cherries” album cover and announced that he was taking a temporary break from the band. And that summer he wrote the songs for Ram and the knives were out.

    • @Kieop
      @Kieop День тому

      I agree with you in principle. The songs on McCartney do not reflect problems with The Beatles, but they ARE personal reflections of both his depressive state and his positive outlook, so they are still informative of his feelings at that time and even if John had not actually left The Beatles as you say, Paul believed the band was over (cf Life Magazine Nov 69). But I agree with you that Paul's leaving was the end and that the band could have continued if not for that.
      2 points of fact corrections:
      Teddy Boy was not written during the Get Back sessions; like Junk, it was a leftover from India.
      The Toronto concert was in September of 69, not December. John and Yoko did go to Canada in December to meet Pierre Trudeau. They stayed with Ronnie Hawkins at his farm, but Eric Clapton would not have been there. You are correct, however, that he discussed leaving The Beatles on that trip with, I believe, journalist Ray Coleman -- not 100% sure it was Ray.

    He keeps referring to George Martin assisting in production of some songs. But in the case of McCartney 3 I think he may be referring to Giles Martin. The son of George who unfortunately is now deceased.

    I have nearly every McCartney album and have listened to them all the time and even after listen the last 2 albums I have no desire to buy them. Which saddens me really as I have been a huge fan all my life and to hear him live now is heart breaking, he really needs to listen to his own words and “ Live And Let Die “ rather than a cash grab. I will always be a huge fan and appreciate what he has give the world in song.

      I think you should give McCartney III a try.
      I mean, Deep Deep Feeling is a great experimental track, a truly sonic voyage.
      It reminded me of David Bowie's Blackstar.
      It's amazing that at 78 Paul still has this curiosity and this will to experiment himself.
      There are also more conventional Macca tracks like The Kiss Of Venus that I personally love, or the pop single Find My Way

    • @bowds7
      @bowds7 3 дні тому

      You know I really tried to like it , I listened to it about 5 times taking it all in. I wouldn’t be a musician and songwriter today if it wasn’t for him. When you look at the history of the Beatles , they paved the way for the changes in music, McCartney has changed with the times and stayed up there and even today the music in the mainstream doesn’t have that everlasting quality that those 4 boy made back then and this current work is up there with the current mainstream today, so once again Paul has kept up with the times and given us his best at the time, and I take my hat off to him. I suppose that being spoilt with the amount of amazing songs he has written over the years just out weighs the mediocre material of an Old McCartney of today. Maybe in a few years time I will revisit his current stuff and appreciate it more when I get to his age? and think back on the great man and his legacy.

    Hi
    The best in this trilogy is McCartney I. Paul re-inventing himself.
    In my opinion the other McCartney albums in this so called trilogy got more worse.
    McCartney II is worse than McCartney I and McCartney IIII is worse than McCartney ii.
    McCartney III is a boring album in my opionion.
    But that's just my opinion.
    I think McCartney I is the most honest of these three.
    Take care.

    It’s not a good trilogy. At all… if anything, it proves how much Paul needed John and the Beatles. Not terrible in any way, not great either
