i recommend watching the clip from nerd cookies on exactly the same theme (deleted scenes). as a dune reader, i knew from the final cuts of both movies that there was way more. i understand DV not ”reworking” the movies for extended editions, but he could at least get some deleted scenes as bonuses on blu rays or whatever format.
He's ego won't allow it
That video was a great recommendation :). I actually agree with the idea of releasing deleted scenes as bonus features. I would absolutely love to see more of the Dune world he has created. It's the directors cuts that I often wonder about.
you're an utter nonsense for mentioning Snyder Cut being 4 hours. do you not know The Hateful 8 true film was 5 hours long? if the Snyder Cut was actually released it woild have been 2 films but the studio told him hell no. everyone on youtube is a damn speaker on a box without ever ever ever looking at what caused the decisions that made the director do what they did, usually being told to do this or that.
I did mention that the 4 hour cut was a different scenario. The reality is though, (outside of The Justice League) that Sucker Punch, Watchmen and Batman V Superman are all better films in their extended cuts. With Batman V Superman leaving out whole plot lines that fleshed out Luthor's plan as well as Clark Kent's investigation in the theatrical cut. I loved both versions but the latter was much better. If you plan to make a film thats 3+ hours, knowing that your parameters are much less, you're doing the audience a disservice as there's no point to watching the movie in theatres until the complete vision comes out later. I feel like that's a pretty fair objection to have when going to watch a movie. You're more than welcome to disagree. That's what makes these discussions fun and interesting. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts 🍿
